The food was excellent. I got the bacon blue cheese burger and hubby got the fish and chips. The unfortunate part was waiting for an hour for our food. Everyone else who came in at the same time as us had their food delivered and they finished before ours was even brought out. One of my favorite restaurants in Grants Pass. Plus they are open on Mondays (but not Tuesday or Wednesday fyi). Very good happy hour menu and I have not had anything bad there yet. Love the fish dinners. Excellent and mouth watering sauces. Hamburgers are excellent as well. Great and friendly service and a wonderful bar tender! I'll start off this review of Food Studio with 4 stars. It's a brand new opening in the same location where Blondies used to be. I was very satisfied with the new entrees and menu as most of their dishes looked great coming out. I had their "Steak Diane" (a dish of a pan-fried beefsteak with a sauce made from the seasoned pan juices). It was super flavorful and tasty. Wifey had their pecan salad and was also happy with the preparation and flavor. It's great to have this new restaurant in town and we look forward to coming back. It was a little slow and disorganized during their grand opening (and understaffed I assume) but all in all it's a solid place to dine. They also have an extensive cocktail list and I hear they make some great drinks. I can't offer an critique though since I only had water. I enjoyed the ginger flank steak with a bright topping of crystallized ginger and scallions (I think) along with rice and a generous portion of perfectly cooked vegetables. So disappointed in dinner last night. There are signs this restaurant is struggling. I wanted the ribeye and on a Saturday night they had only one left and it was not 12 oz. It came out over cooked at medium to medium well and the potatoes were yesterday's potatoes not fresh at all. And when offered desert the waiter said they didn't have to many items available so again signs of a struggle. The owners use to come out and talk to you , now we don't see him at all. I have to say the bartender and waiter didn't great job but food was so disappointing. It's like nobody cares in this restaurant anymore. So sad. read more

We've gone quite a few times to the Food Studio and each time everything is consistent and great. I had the steak Diane, which was delicious, perfectly cooked and tender. Their wine list is lacking though. Their prices are extremely reasonable. The only negative thing is some of the staff seems to be a bit out of place there. The long shorts with knee socks and tennis shoes was a strange look for this kind of restaurant. Another reviewer said possibly on drugs, maybe otherwise we'll be back read more

Just the facts. I had read the nearly 100 pictorial/written reviews of this establishment before my family and myself attended for dinner The place had 5 staff for the time I was there. There were two other 2 tops (customers) attending to give the place 8 customers (including my 4 top). I had to wait 10 minutes before the waiter came by to see if we wanted an alcoholic drink. We didn't. Another 10 minutes before he returned to check on us and we ordered some soda pops at our discretion not his. He came back with the wrong soda order. He didn't bring us or ask us if we wanted any water... I did recall that you have to ask for water nowadays. So now I'm thinking "is he going to offer us some bread/rolls" or am I going to have to request that too. I did have to request the bread. The rest is as follows: The noise of the staff putting away dishes/silverware went on for 15 minutes. We then ordered/attempted to order dinner. First off, they informed me that they didn't have the appetizer OR the entree I wanted. No apology and he appeared to be in a hurry because he spent only seconds listening to my requests before trying to walk away from our table on multiple occasions. At this point, I brought up. to my group, leaving the restaurant and getting dinner at another place. We ended up staying. I also thought about not leaving a tip. I was over-ruled. Four of us ate dinner here on a Saturday night and all enjoyed the meal. Started with some cocktails which have to give them credit for they make an attempt to be original and fresh. Enjoyed an excellent crab gratin appetizer which was as excellent on the great sourdough toasted bread. My duck was excellently cooked and my only critical comment would be that the accompaniments were bland and didn't add to the dish. Others raved about the red snapper and the other loved their chicken dish. Another highlight was the coconut cake I had for dessert. Five stars. The service was very good and professional although it did take a little bit of time for our dishes to arrive from the kitchen. Still pleased with the Food Studio!! My girlfriend and I had brunch there last Sunday, August 20th to celebrate her birthday. I had the California Benedict and my friend devoured the Short Rib Hash. We started with mimosas that had a mango base and despite the smoky skies outside we left quite happy! I will return soon. If you're eating on the opposite side of the street you're missing out! Yes! Another awesome foodie restaurant in Grants Pass! Everything we had was fresh, flavorful, and presented beautifully. Four stars because the ambiance is lacking a bit, and would tweak a couple of the recipes. However, we will be loyal customers! We could tell our server loved her job. She was super helpful, explained the dishes nicely, and was on hand when we needed, without being over baring. On her suggestion we tried the eggplant hummus. And holy cow! I would eat this daily for lunch if I could. It was delectably creamy. The pita were nicely toasted and I loved the feta, olives and cucumber. However, the plate was a bit heavy on the cherry tomatoes and red onion. How about some carrots and broccoli maybe? Still, I would order this in a heartbeat! I was so excited to have the braised short ribs. Who doesn't love unctuous chunks of wine braised meat over fluffy whipped potatoes? Food Studio provided well. Even the side veggies were cooked to perfection, perfectly al dente. I was only slightly disappointed that the meat wasn't a bit more winey. However the server said they try to cater to all tastes, and most prefer not to taste the wine. Eh, well, the dish was still pretty damn good. However, I was blown away by my husband's order of Steak Dianne. Damn it! Why didn't I order that??? Crazy flavor, and cooked exactly medium-rare on the rare side, lol. Had a couple of glasses of Pinot at $5 a glass and it was tasty. Especially with our dessert of chocolate torte. Which was incredibly mouth pleasing. Think of chocolate butter. OMG! The only thing I wish they would have done is maybe pair it with a fruit smear on the plate, passion fruit maybe? The Hershey's chocolate on the plate, and white drips on top were over the top and unappealing, as was the fake whipped topping. But I ate every bit when I could get it in my belly! This is a quality restaurant from any perspective. Eaten there a few times and it's excellent price reasonably. Very efficient wait staff. Definitely not ordinary cuisine. Relatively new to town, wife and I are coming from an area with a wide range of food styles, cultures, and great cocktails. We have been on a mission to find some of the best restaurants and cocktail lounges in Grants Pass. My wife has seen the Food Studio many times going down G street as we drove by and mentioned we have to try it sometime. Tonight was the night. Let's begin with, they are open on Sundays, they are also open late on Sundays. 9pm as of this writing. 9pm on Sunday in Grants Pass? Heck yea! G street was extremely dead like usual, the Food Studio had a handful of customers which after eating there, wish they were busier for the staff and owner. But hey, it's Sunday in Grants Pass. Immediately we were greeted by Jeff who gave us the option to sit wherever we felt comfortable. Wife really likes to sit at the bar, I love to be social, so we sat at the bar. Jeff (Our waiter/bartender) immediately helped us with two whiskey sours with our selected whiskeys of choice, DELICIOUS. The whiskey sours were actually sour up front, with a nice sweetness on the back end. Really really enjoyed our cocktails. After finishing the first round I noticed they had a bottle of Double Oak Balvenie 12 which is one of my favorite scotches and I rarely see it offered in restaurants. Pour me up neat, please! Wife and I had a long day and had been snacking throughout it so we weren't starving by any stretch of the imagination, hungry yes. We decided to start with the Crab Gratin. The dish came out piping out, fresh warm sourdough bread, and huge chunks of crab in it. I am full as I write this, and still want more. On to our main, since we had been snacking all day we decided to share the chef special tonight, the special was a balsamic glazed salmon with veggies, spinach and rice. I have had salmon at 5 different restaurants in town and this is tied for #1. Cooked to perfection, veggies still had a slight crunch to them. This chef knows what he is doing. I got a bit long winded with this, but I feel restaurants and staff that go above and beyond deserve it. Also, I have learned that other yelpers tend to like details rather than 5 stars and "It was delicious". LOVE THIS PLACE I found this place recently and it turned out to be one of my favorite places to go. The staff is welcoming, the atmosphere is dated but clean, the food is good, the prices are okay (who can tell these days with this crazy inflation). The bartender and the drinks are fabulous. It is warm and inviting. The menu has a wide variety of choices- a separate lunch menu and dinner menu. Steak, seafood, pasta, sandwiches, salads, chicken and more. I cant comment on service because like everywhere (especially now adays) it depends on so many factors. I usually get really great service here so no complaints. read more

I have seldom left a negative response,...however. our servicer, I believe Alana, was very sweet and apoligist.. our evening was not good. We arrived at 5:45 p.m. We were slowly waited on, but it was Saturday, so no problem. It seemed to be somewhat under staffed.Still not a biggy. We waited and waited, finally got the wine we ordered. However no garlic mushroom appetizer. After waiting some time I asked the waitress. We were told they ran out off mushrooms and had to go to the store??? Waited and waited for not only mushrooms, but the entree. Several people came in, ate, and left b4 we got our food. Our salads were great. Homemade dressing was very good. The steak Diane was tougher than my shoe, vegetables were raw, and the alcohol in the Diane didn't taste like it had been cooked off. My husband had rockfish picatta. He thought it was ok however his pasta was gummy. After 3hrs.++ We finally got our dinner so we didn't complain. We did tell the server about the wait and how others were served and left way b4 us. She comped dessert to go, which was sweet. A group of about 10 arrived quite awhile after us, were served, ate, and had dessert b4 our appetizer came.
