They were clamoring for a ButterBurger and a shake. Oh, sure, my precious children. Why the heck not? Usually, fast-food joints are in-and-out endeavors for me. I don't like to stick around any longer than I need to. But my precious children wanted to sit inside and have a leisurely lunch, so of course we stayed. One of the benefits of dining inside this Culver's is that you get to experience the excellent customer service in multiple ways. The ordering process was efficient and the people were friendly, I had people ask me if I needed more sauce, I had people asking to throw away my trash. And then, as we were leaving, we were bid farewell by at least two people behind the registers. "This is why I like Culver's," my youngest child said as we were leaving. "They are always nice at Culver's." He especially appreciated all of the friendliness and warmth that was bestowed upon us during our visit. The food is what you'd expect from Culver's. Like any fast food restaurant, it's consistent. I ordered the chili cheese fries, because I love chili cheese fries and was surprised to see them on the menu here. The chili was great (it has beans in it, which I like), and the cheese that they use is the yellow queso kind. They were decent chili cheese fries! I wouldn't hesitate to get them again. This Culver's location has a lot of shaded outdoor patio seating, which is nice and a good option for big groups when the weather is nice.

It is usually my kids' go-to option when they want a burger, even more than that other chain from Wisconsin. This Freddy's location, though, was a little rough around the edges. The tables were dirty and askew, it took almost 25 minutes to receive our food, and the restaurant was smoky from poor ventilation, among other things. Maybe it was just my visit today. I'm hoping it was just an off day. I want to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. And it looked like they were short staffed, which didn't help at all. We got our food and the order was correct and it tasted great, though, so that was a bonus. I got the chili cheese fries, which kinda hit the spot, but Freddy's has shoestring fries, and I think chili cheese fries need those big, thick fries. We were going to get frozen custard sundaes after our meal, but I could tell that they were still struggling to fulfill the drive-thru and online orders, so I didn't step up to the counter to order again. I didn't want to wait another half hour! I still love Freddy's, though. It's hard not to love this chain because the food is so good. I also enjoy using their app to accumulate points for free items and to have the ability to order ahead. On my last visit, I found myself placing an order just a few minutes after they'd opened and when I arrived, they were putting the final touches on my order. I'm still waiting for them to add the option to pick up online orders through the drive thru...and for them to increase the portion sizes of their onion rings. I also wish that I could add shredded cheese to my chili cheese fries through the app in place of the cheese sauce. You are only able to do this in person. Besides that, I really enjoy the food here. This is one of the better fast food spots in my area.
