A perfect day, My husband and myself came up from Allegheny County Virginia to do the Goochland farmers market with our meat truck Adrein Michael Farms. We decided that right off of 64 was a Dairy Queen and that at the end of the farmers market we were gonna stop there and grab a bite to eat before heading home. starved and tired. We go to Dairy Queen Placed our order and not sure of the other gentleman's name but the fellow that waited on us BJ really gave us a wonderful end to a good day. The meal was cooked to perfection I can honestly say I don't think I have ever been to a Dairy Queen That was that good I ordered two chili cheese dogs and an order of onion rings. My husband ordered the DQ basket and everything was piping hot. It was cooked to perfection and I didn't have to tell them to wait on our desserts Until we finish eating, they already knew! This is a gas station, connivence store, post office DQ combo. We found the DQ side clean and bright. Easily 8 tables with 4 seats each. Service was prompt. Not a lot of menu choices for food. The usual choices for ice cream and sweet treats. We had a double cheeseburger each and one order of onion rings. We sat down. Our food was ready in less than 10 minutes. Everything was hot. It seems like the burgers are pre cooked and then bun, pickles, burger patty, cheese and condiments, it is wrapped and put in some kind of microwave oven. The burger tasted good. The cheese was generous. The fact that it was served hot made it all the more appetizing. The onion rings were prepared in an air fryer I bet. They were just the right crispiness. The breading was good and the onion ring was cooked well enough I could bite through it. Not greasy at all. Pretty darn good. Enough for us to share. The bathrooms are super clean. Hot water. (Wow). Soap that works and a hand blower. Easy parking. Easy off and on Interstate 64. We did not get ice cream this stop. They have chicken strips and nuggets for the kiddos. Better option than other fast food places. And the ladies room is 5 stars for cleanliness and 2 handicapped stalls. There are only 2 stalls. Nice quality TP too. I stopped for gas and decided to get a banana split. It was awful! As served it was a pool of vanilla soup as the ice cream was 3/4 melted. Skip the ice cream here and just get a frozen bar from the freezer section or from the BP gas station. read more

I frequently stop in this location either for the gas station or Dairy Queen. This place has gone down hill and the service is horrendous. There are several individuals that barely if any speak and understand English. The main register guy in the gas service side is always on his phone and is rude. The bathrooms and store is filthy. Now let's talk about Dairy Queen. The man who is completely rude "BJ" I believe is his name, does not understand English and barely comprehends. I was in this weekend and was treated so rude by him. He laughed in my face and turned to a co-worker and laughed at me and a friend and they kept turning looking at us. They spoke in their language, laughing and snickering. The bill was over $50 for thrash food and service. He does not need to be working a register or customer service if he does not speak nor understand English. This service is continually inadequate and appears to be a reflection of the owner and any if management is even there. Something needs to be done with your associates and "BJ" needs to be fired or taken off customer service and put cleaning or something. Ok so in my other review of a DQ it was getting good attention so I'll say the same thing here. I grew up in California so I never had the chance to go to. DQ. I just moved to a part of Virginia where there are many DQ's and I'm getting the chance to enjoy many of them - clearly by all of my reviews. The food is just food. One burger joint to another. The fries are better than Burger King but not better than McDonald's. But they have added this Alaskan Salmon Sandwich to their menu which is amazing. It can be dry so ask for extra tarter when ordering! Now the DQ part of it. Who would ever want a milkshake again after having one of their DQ frozen things. So thick and you can add the yummy treats. Come on! So yes I recommend. Well unless you're watching ur weight. read more

Sometimes you can't beat a blizzard. Even if you do have to wait in the slowest drive thru to get it. We come here occasionally to fill our ice cream craving as its one of only a couple choices within a half hour of us. We go inside to order usually because the drive thru is actually so bad, dont know why but it always takes like double the time. Service isn't fantastic, but they get it done. Their hours found online currently show open (4:45 pm on a Thursday afternoon) but when you get to the parking lot, the drive thru is roped off and blocked with road cones. This place has always had the worst employees. Went a couple nights ago and it was not busy at all. 3 cars in the line including us. The girls working inside were like zombies. One on her phone then went straight to making food with no gloves and did not wash her hands. The other girl started hitting her vape right in the kitchen... I watched the girl make one of the things we ordered and we had asked to add strawberries, I watched her make it and not add them so when she went to hand it to me I asked her if she added strawberries and you would have thought I ran over her dog. My children wanted to take me to Dairy Queen for Father's Day. The staff were busy meaning things took time. While waiting I watched a staff member clean the counters, wall and a bit of the floor with a rag and then set it on the counter. Another staff member used the rag to wipe off my milkshake which was basically milk. When I mentioned that the milk shake that appeared to not have any ice cream and the dirt on the lid opening. The staff member told me the milkshake machines currently do not have enough time to thicken back up and the black stuff on the lid was chocolate ice cream. I asked for the manager who was dismissive but did make another milk shake while the other staff member was ranting about it was just chocolate ice cream on the rag. I said to the manager that I watched another staff member clean up an accident with rag and pointed them out. Dairy Queen corporate and health officials really should take a look at this location. I do not recommend anybody ordering food or drinks from this location as if customers can witness this with zero accountability I am horrified to think what is happening behind the scenes. read more
