WOW, from the stained walls, stained coffee mugs and cracked booths to the worst food ever, cold and greasy it could only get better, right? Well it did, we were about to leave and this beautiful young lady (12 ish) came to our booth and was selling chocolate chip cookies she made by herself for 2-$1.00, my husband being the gem(and sucker for a pretty face) that is his, bought all she had, I can't remember the last time I saw a child light up as she did, you GO girl. This is a legit dive diner, and really the only breakfast place around Lake Anna when we stayed for a weekend. It's cash only, but there is an ATM next door. We were surprisingly seated right away on a Sunday morning with a group of 9, and service was excellent! Our coffees stayed at least half full and food came out quickly. For the price, you can't beat the portions! My $10 meal came with coffee, english muffin, eggs, scrapple, and potatoes. The food is can't-mess-up basic, but still tasty! The gravy with the sausage gravy was creamy and delish! There was a small snafu when our vegetarian friend was served an italian omelette (with sausage and pepperoni inside), but she quickly caught it and a new dish was replaced right away. read more

Classic greasy spoon, in a good way. Not too many dining options at Lake Anna, at least where I was staying a few weeks back. We encountered a rainy morning on our trip so we decided to go out for a big breakfast, it was big indeed. Huge portions of diner classics. Pretty large menu with tons of breakfast staples. The service was great. Server was attentive and friendly, pay at the counter. The venue was run down, could definitely use a refresh but maybe that's part the charm. The food was good but not amazing. Solid breakfast though, it did the trick, it just wasn't amazing but it was satisfying. I forget exactly what I got but from what I remember it was three eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuit with sausage gravy, a hash brown (McDonald's style) and toast. Like I said, a big breakfast indeed. I don't know what was the worse part of my first and last visit to the Mineral Restaurant ...the from frozen meat, the watery, bland instant potatoes, the unseasoned canned green beans, the fact that they were out of several items I tried to order like salad and baked potatoes, the stale, out of date lemon cake slice, or the unkept, dirty place itself. How this place is in business still or not shut down by the health department is a mystery to me. I could tell by the outside it would be a dive, but I expected some good country cooking. This place did not deliver. I would NOT recommend you try this establishment because it's disgusting in every way. I would give it zero stars if I could. read more

Mineral Restaurant at the Delaware Hotel, Leadville, CO. We had more than one local tell us they FINALLY had a great breakfast place. i see "cash only" and "Italian" in some reviews... in September 2022, credit cards were accepted, and i didn't notice anything Italian on the breakfast menu. We ate here two successive mornings and much appreciated the creative menu and the very personable, attentive staff! We didn't feel rushed at all. Bacon (yes! real meat is on the menu!), eggs, biscuits w/ gravy delish; breakfast bowl of hashbrowns, 2 eggs over easy, chorizo, cheddar, green chile sauce (bowls are 'create your own'). Cinnamon rolls were excellent. Reasonable prices! read more

Well I have to update my review. My daughter and I went in last week and had a horrible experience. First my waitress was good BUT the owner / cook was appalling. My friend chicken can to my table FROZEN and when I made a complaint that it was a literal ice block my waitress went to get it fixed. One of the owners working then proceeded to microwave my frozen chicken and then sent it back to me. Picture is of the chicken returned to my table. This is not okay in the slightest. The waitress apologized and said "I've never seen a place other then this one not throw it in the trash and get you fresh cooked food" so I refused it and she had to go ask the other owner to come the food for me. Luckily for them he did, because I wasn't going to pay for it either way. No matter how good the food was my first visit I will not be back because of the owners behavior and seriously who microwaves chicken and then gives it to their customer?!? The sad part is my son and husband had frequented this place on a weekly basis for almost 2 months. But none of us will return due to the owner yelling at his waitress for his mistakes and all the above mentioned. The pizza and calzones looked amazing and I'll admit to food envy. Do not get taken back by the interior as it is a little backdated and some areas could use repair. Went this morning for breakfast with my family. The waitress (Mandy) sat a tray with our drinks and someone else's food in front of my 4 year old son and when he went to grab it she grabbed his arm and ripped it away. After I gave her a dirty look for grabbing my child she pushed us off on another waitress; who shoved our food in front of us and never came back. They never brought my breakfast potatoes or toast out. When it was brought to the attention of the owner when I paid he didn't even apologize or subtract the cost of the food I never received. Tried it once for breakfast. I think this place may be worse than Waffle House. Runny western omelette with a slice of square deli ham and single slice of American cheese thrown in, not fresh but frozen potatoes, toast topped with giant pools of fake butter. The place was dirty and my standards are pretty low. I live in mineral for 10 years and thought I would try it out today... I won't go back. I've eaten here a number of times over the years mostly because there aren't many other choices in this neck of the woods. There is nothing to recommend about the food as the quality matches the low prices. Breakfast is good, mostly because it is hard to go wrong with eggs or pancakes. But even that is a bit messed up as they won't serve it past 11 weekdays. I don't know how late they serve breakfast on the weekends as I'm not willing to make the trip just to find out the only eggs I can have are in an egg salad sandwich. THIS IS A CASH ONLY PLACE, but there is an ATM next door at the gas station (walkable). That said, the place is worth it. The waitress is fast, courteous and her recommendation was perfect. The salad bar is really good as well. Lots of choices. We had the steak and cheese (the large is huge!) and a BLT on rye. We also enjoyed fries with gravy on the side, a delicacy, made all the better by their selfish gravy. It's a great place for a quick bite when you're on the road. Lots of good comfort food choices, but also smaller meals so the driver won't get stuck in a food coma. When we were there it seemed like the whole town was enjoying a Sunday-after-church meal, always a good sign! read more
