Usually, whenever we need fast food in Wasilla, we choose DQ. Up until now, the food has always been great, and their customer service typically far exceeds the McDonald's next door. On top of that, the food usually tastes better and feels like a much better value--you can generally get three times the amount of food for a third of the price. Unfortunately, this visit didn't meet their usual standards. We ordered a large fry and never received it, and we were given the wrong burger, as shown in the photo. Parking lot was clean but be careful putting in as there is a row of low concrete in the parking lot that can be missed if not careful. I ordered the fish sandwich, with onion rings and a large Diet Coke. My wife ordered the grilled Chicken Salad. We shared our drink. The fish sandwich was a large breaded Cod filet on a bun with a slice of cheese and tartar sauce. It was flavorful, nicely breaded and well cooked. The cheese could have been melted more, and it would have warmed the sandwich better. The cheese was a cool slice with a lukewarm bun. The onion rings were over cooked and very crunchy to the point of breaking in pieces. Not the worst I have had but definitely in the fryer too long. I want to return and try the same sandwich again for comparison. I am a fan of DQ mostly of their ice cream . So my meal ordering is limited. My wife's salad according to her was great. An ample amount of grilled chicken that was well cooked, seasoned and tasty. The vegetables were fresh, crisp and excellent. She ordered the vinaigrette but it was out so she selected an Italian dressing. I would recommend this business for their ice cream and food items. Waited about 10 minutes at the front counter before anyone acknowledged us but would look at us. When paid they forgot to give me my cup which i politely asked for and was given attitude like it was an inconvenience for me to ask for my cup. While waiting for food you can hear them talking horribly about the people in the drive through calling them names and slurs. When I received my food the chicken strips were grey looking and the fries a very dark color. I didn't even eat the food I ended up just leaving. We also saw someone we assume works there but off the clock came in with friends and just walked into the kitchen area grabbing things without washing hands or wearing gloves. read more

Banana split and buster bar were great. Lobby had ketchup spread across two aisles of the floor, trash at the front entrance was overflowing, there was ice cream spattered on the walls by the pick up counter, and there was no ice for the soda machine-we were the only customers besides a family of four. My family and I waited over an hour and a half in the drive through to get our order. This location is consistently slow and wait times range from about 30-45 minutes long in the drive through. I kept thinking that I just came on busy nights. After several visits I have come to the realization that I will experience an excessive wait time every visit. The girl up front had her purse/bag on like she was about to walk out the door, the other girls on the ice cream line had their very messy hair down without hair nets and all of them, after playing with their hair (including throwing ice cream at each other then redoing their hair in plain sight) did not wash their hands again before serving food. I understand. They were being normal high school girls, chatting and all but it was very loud and honestly disruptive. Food came out and the fries were barely room temp, but the front gal did apologize saying, "sorry you had to see that, she was bullying me and threw ice cream in my hair haha". Lastly, I went to use the restroom before leaving and they were completely out of TP, so I let them know and she just turned around and started looking for someone else. After not finding him I was told, "I don't know what to do about the bathroom situation because my manager isn't here and I don't know where the TP is" Soooo, I get working at a quick service food restaurant, especially in high school. But even back when I did (and even at a DQ), you washed your hands and weren't making everyone wait on you while you redid your hair and bickered with your coworkers. This restaurant rivals Sonic as being the absolute slowest in the matsu-valley. Every time you come, expect to wait in line for 45 minutes or longer. And that is with only 3 cars in front of you. There are no long lines, because of the extremely slow service. The place is a mess, things are broken, pictures are faded. I ordered a heath bar ice-cream birthday cake for my boyfriend at this location. While the cake was yummy, they didn't get my order right...hence the four stars. The person that took down my order wrote all the details of my request in the note but I guess the one who did the decorations didn't look at it carefully. It was not big of a deal so I didn't point them out when I got it. If you're not familiar with their regular ice-cream cake, they usually have a layer of vanilla at the bottom separating from the chocolate ice-cream layer by a thin crunchy, creamy, chewy chocolate layer in between. With the customized heath bar ice-cream cake, they substituted the chocolate layer with the heath bar incorporated blizzard layer instead. The color is a bit monochromatic so I added the M&M chocolate to brighten it up instead. It was delicious. read more

Started off good, until I was waiting in the line for 20 minutes for some blizzards, I get up to the window and have a code to use and they take my phone and try to figure it out but couldn't, so they just manually did it, they handed me the blizzards melted, and said we ran out of Vanilla ice cream so gave chocolate instead, didn't even ask if we wanted it still. Dairy Queen is pretty much good for ice cream and only ice cream in my opinion. During this quarantine I became addicted to their ice cream but a couple things I noticed after frequenting: 1) There is always a lonnnnnnnng wait. I'm talking abnormally long. McDonald's next door will go through 100+ customers to Dairy Queen's 6. Dairy Queen has what I want though so I stick it out for that. But just a heads up. 2) Friendly service is spotty. For the most part they're very friendly but more than a few times it looked like the employees were arguing and fighting over not sure what.. 3) More than a few times they close earlier than their posted closing time. Was in line at 8:45 and made it to the ordering stand and they seemingly closed while I was waiting in line? They didn't say anything on the intercom nor did they respond to me when I asked if they were still open! Then I was trapped in the line because people were behind me and the people in front of me were able to order. Very very bazaar. *SCAM ALERT* I have been a customer for years. They always are slow even if you are the only one in line expect to wait at least 10-20min. If there is anyone else in line at the drive through don't bother the gas you will burn waiting for them you could spend on a stark dinner for the same money. This last time I tried to eat there the manager stoped me mid order to have a conversation with someone that was totally unrelated to work I overheard it on the ordering speaker. It was a nice 5 minute conversation about some dude babying some chick he was talking to. "Oh sorry honey" yada yada I have put up with their b.s. because they are cheap place to grab a bite for a long time. Upon placing a order today asking for extra pickles on my sandwich I was upcharged a dollar. I stated I have never been charged for extra pickles. To which the "manager" order taker person stated it was in fact their store policy to charge extra for pickles. I looked on the app and you can order extra pickles at no charge on the app. When I called to complain the same manager who took my order answered the phone. I asked to speak to the general manager he said he was the general manager so I asked to speak with the owner. The owner apologized and offers me a refund. I never accepted or asked for one. I will never eat there again. I have had enough of that place. A extra slice of cheese is only .40 cents it clearly states in the app what cost extra and what does not. My friends and I went into this location and the workers were very distracted joking around with one of their coworkers who had come in on his day off. They were being very loud and making sexual jokes with each other while customers were trying to eat, they started throwing cups around at each other and one of them was eating on top of the ice cream bar picking things up and placing them back behind the counter with dirty hands. The main thing keeping their rating at an average rating is the fact the staff is nice and the blizzards are to DIE for. today someone tried to use my credit card to pay for their taxes through turbo tax. The only thing I did different was go to Dairy Queen, and this was set as an ACH transaction. I'm dint have proof that it was someone at Dairy Queen but I'm going to go with my intuition on this. in order for this type of payment to made u have to have my card info...it's as easy as taking a pic of my info, swipe that card for my payment of a burger and shake then give me back my card. read more

I should have read the reviews before coming here. It was disappointing because I love the DQ chain. The staff was indifferent to customers present. It took 15 minutes to get a Blizzard even though there were only 3 other tables in the place with customers. I got a table number tent given to me, so I was expecting the food would be brought out. I went today through the drive through. There was only 2 cars ahead of me. Ordered the 2 for $4 and 2 blizzards. The blizzards that I was give we're already melting on the top like they had been sitting. The girl handing out at the window wouldn't even turn them upside down. They didn't offer a container to hold the blizzards or even a lid. I had to ask for lids and napkins because of how melted the blizzards were. I asked her why they were so melted on top and she closed the window and walked away. I'm glad Sonic is open now, I'd rather wait in line than have this poor service.
