I attempted to order a new item on the menu, and they said that why I was trying to order was discontinued. Told the lady , I'm looking at your website now and it says this is a new item. She said the website is old and needs to be updated.. I told her I saw a commercial for this today and that why I'm here. She said if you want somebody to complain to here's a number you can call... they literally have advertisements for the item. I was trying to order on their windows in the lady. Completely disgusting, starting from their customer service to every single food item I ordered. Chicken tenders were completely burnt and fries were still undercooked. Ice cream cone ended up melting, why would that be the first thing to give to the customer and then have me wait 10 min for my food. Even my drinks tasted like they were watered down. UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP! Ok guys. I avoided this place like the plague because of the previous owner who had all of these weird racist signs. I heard they finally pushed him out so I figured we'd stop by and give it a whirl. The food was great, hot, And very fresh veggies. The ice cream was prepared perfectly. I've been coming here for years. Dar has owned this DQ since 1990 and it's still running strong! Return customers get special treatment. It's the quintessential Texas Dairy Queen experience! I usually get the Hunger Buster meal but this time I tried the Steak Fingers. Dip them in country gravy and douse em with Tabasco for the ultimate flaves. An Orange Julius is a great oldschool treat to slurp on with your meal. Ice cream treats are the staple here. I enjoyed a Peanut Buster Parfait the other day. The hot fudge is no joke. Probably the unhappiest DQ I have ever been too. Not only did the place smell of fabuloso, like it smelt like it was just thrown all of the floor and wiped up, but the employees looked miserable. Not to mention there where signs all over the place to the employees... example "employees will not work over 80 hours. If you want over that go work somewhere else." Like customers don't want to see that. It was extremely dirty. Wouldn't even touch the door on our way out. Also didn't get what I ordered but just wanted out of the place. OK so for years I went here for my DQ fix but that is no more. It has gone down hill. Last time I was in there the floor was dirty with fries lying around and trash and food on the tables. Meanwhile the owner is just sitting there messing around on his lap top at a corner table. In general the place is in need or repair, cleaning, and repainting. I always feel like he is trying to short change me somehow(he is not going to remind you you get a free treat with your kids meal). They usually don't have any of the treats like dilly bars since the freezer seems to be broken.The staff leaves a lot to be desired also. Do yourself a favor and drive over the Kemah bridge (enjoy the view) and go to the Seabrook DQ as it is much cleaner and friendlier. read more

This place is horrible. We went through the drive through and the intercom was broke, then the card machine was broke. They said they would bring my food out to me, and after 10 minutes of waiting I ran in to the bathroom. Seriously I've been in porta-potties that were cleaner! Ever since the new owner and renovations, this DQ has been amazing. We have one closer to our house, but will drive a few minutes extra to come to this one. The other night I ordered a chicken sandwich and asked them to add bacon. And boy did they! The sandwich was great. Anytime we order a sandwich or burger, it is always put together nicely. The guy at the window was nice and even offered me a "pup cup" for my dog. It was a cup of ice cream with a dog treat. My dog of course love it. Overall, good food (for fast food) at a good price. I've tried this place twice since the new owner took over.... total disappointment each time. The first time, they were slow, unfriendly and my order was wrong. Today, I didn't even get my order. I waited for almost ten minutes after placing my order, then they tell me the credit card machine isn't working. They actually suggested I go to a bank to get cash out. I asked for the manager's # which is posted (I didn't have a pen). At first she refused, then she said she didn't know it. Seriously? I called around 10:30pm one night to ask what time they closed, since they do not have their hours listen on Google (from what I could find at the time being rush to get there on time if they closed at 11 being that I live about half an hour away). I am 95% positive that it was the owner who answered the phone. When I asked what time they closed tonight he said "We close when we want to, goodbye." And was hung up on. I immediately called back and asked who I was speaking with and was never given an answer but asked why I want to know. And i said "So that when I report this location, I know who I was speaking to for being so rude to me on the phone." He actually started yelling at me saying "you people call every night and waste my time" and I asked who is "you people" because I have NEVER called his store and now will never spend a dime in there due to this blatantly rude and confrontational behavior. He stuttered all over himself and tried to apologize with a backhanded comment that I don't call "apologizing". And continued going off on me talking about the fact that he has customers in this store right now and people like me who call to ask for a closing time... that takes 10 seconds to answer... are taking time away from them. I told him he should probably post his hours on Google then. Needless to say I chose a different Dairy Queen off of 517 where the customer service was wonderful and everyone was very nice. If I am to every go into this particular location again it will be to throw something in the face of that jerk who thinks he can get away from running a business like that. read more

Had an awful experience there today. The place was so dirty. The women's bathroom stunk and there was no toilet paper or paper towel. I had to go into the men's room to get toilet paper. There are dental floss picks at the ordering counter which to me was a real turn off. The shakes were not bad, but they don't have chocolate ice cream and they only used a little bit of hot fudge to try and make it into a chocolate shake which is on the menu. It tasted like vanilla. I would really avoid this place.... I am not usually so picky but it was truly terrible, which I really didn't think a Dairy Queen could be. read more

I can't really comment on the previous ownership, but I do remember the flap over his inability to renovate and his controversial public service messages. DQ was one of those businesses I didn't visit for a few years, because their corporate head quarters were in Minnesota. Its not that I have anything against the Land of Lakes, but the impetus was sports related. Yeah I can be a fanatic, but along time ago the Vikings threatened to move, and like my non sponsorship of Target, my hopes were that corporate sponsorship of the Vikings would dry up. In turn, the Vikings would leave for Los Angeles (they threatened this about fifteen years ago) and the NFL could be realigned in a sane geographical manner. Anyway, I went here today and picked up two "Dude" sandwiches and a blizzard for a friend and everything was satisfactory. The service was efficient and my friend said it was one of the best chicken sandwiches she ever had (or from them in a long time). ***WARNING*** Do not eat here!!! This DQ doesn't even deserve 1 star. This establishment is ran by the most unprofessional person I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. The establishment is filthy and obviously needed maintenance. The owner had his laptop and paper work spread out in the corner of the dining area and the station where the drinks and condiments were was disgusting. I brought it to his attention that there was a bug of some kind in the gravy of our steak finger basket. Keep in mind I was not asking for a refund, I was just making it known and if possible could we order something else. He quickly got an attitude and said it's from the fryer not a bug. Then told me that "We can eat it or get our money back but thats it!" I was for starters embarrassed that he spoke to a customer that way let alone a female. I just replied your not gonna speak to me like that and yes I would like a refund. He then told me that your not gonna accuse people of having bugs. To top it off when I got my refund he short changed me $1.18 which I didn't realize til I got in the car but I was already so frustrated that I didn't care.
