Nope. We did our order. 3 blizzards. One snickers, one was the special Oreo peanut butter cup and one mint Oreo and added brownies to it. They charged extra for the added brownies. Got the snicker one and 2 Oreo peanut butter cup. I didn't get what I ordered. So, they stole from us. This was not hard. Wont be back. Ever. And it was 20 effing dollars! What a ripoff! Didn't know I was paying $8 for a cup of fucking milk, gave me melted ice cream and I didn't realize until I got home which is literally down the damn street. Why make the ice cream for a car that is 4 cars from the damn window, and there was a long wait because of someone's order, literally made the ice cream 10 minutes before I got to the window because that's how long it took to serve the car that was holding the line up. I recently moved over to Ocean View and passed by this DQ on numerous occasions. I finally decided to stop by for some dessert on a Monday afternoon around 7pm. Due to COVID this location was drive thru only and had marked the parking lot to make it easy for customers to see the lines. The wait only took a few minutes and I was shocked with how quick the line moved, with the impact on the fast food industry. I ordered a small vanilla soft serve ice cream dipped in chocolate and a small strawberry milkshake. Our desserts were ready by the time we pulled up to the cashier window and it was a quick transaction. I appreciate all the workers that made this a great experience! read more

Just moved to ocean view a few months back and thankful for this location. I was shocked to see there wasn't any other ice cream location in the area. It's a perfect treat for after the beach! This location is also quick, the staff is friendly, and they give you generous portions. There is a bit of construction in their parking lot, but they are improving their drive in- so it should be even better in the future. I'll be back! I love DQ! I go to them every where and any where I can find. This location in Norfolk has not been to in over 5 years. The location is a block off Shore Dr. The lot is small, but it has never been an issue getting a spot. Litter was scattered around some. There is nice seating outside. Inside there was some sort of DQ employee meeting. Possibly a dozen employees took most of the tables. I ordered a Peanut Buster Parfait. The male employee was kinda meh. Checkout was not an issue. There was only one table to sit at and accommodated five. The table was clean. My order was called. The Parfait looked great and I confirmed it was tasty. Not a DQ that I will frequent, but they pass the taste test. They need to keep the front clean, this has been a constant problem. read more

Went there for dessert & got the brownie sundae (I don't remember the exact name). I usually get this when visiting DQs & it's usually pretty good. This time though, it was just thrown together...LITERALLY. When I opened the bag, the brownie was lopsided and turned over. It was just a mess, and not very appealing to look at, let alone eat. I didn't want to waste my money though, so I tried to eat it. I took a few bites & just threw it away. The brownie just didn't taste the same. It was a little stale too. It is really true that you eat with your eyes first. My eyes said BARF before my stomach ever did. I'll try something else next time. I had ice cream for 7 for only $27! What a deal. I split a brownie and ice cream with my friend. Her husband had the stuffed cookie and he was nice enough to share a bit. It was delicious. Dairy Queen was always a childhood favorite of mine; unfortunately, over the years, it has become a dying breed in Norfolk. As a matter of fact, this one is the only one that hasn't shut down. This location underwent major rennovations last year and until last week I haven't seen what all was changed. I went here to just to stop in for a quick cone and was impressed by the newly decorated interior. They even have free wi-fi here now. They really pulled out all the stops to keep the last DQ in Norfolk going; this location looks something like an after school hangout now. The servers here were also very friendly. Pulled up to the drive thru with no one ahead or behind me and got no greeting, I waited a couple minutes to see if I got greeted and I finally initiated it by saying, "Hello" and rudely got a "hold on a minute" from the employee. Once the employee was finally ready to take my order I placed my order of a small heath blizzard with EXTRA heath and was given the total of $5.04. I proceeded to pay the employee who was extremely cross with me for reasons unbeknownst to me. I received my blizzard and the employee quickly shut the window and turned his back to continue a conversation with two other employees. Upon trying my blizzard I think it actually had less heath than normal and about half way through there was no more heath at all. I don't typically eat Dairy Queen but the couple of times I have tried this location it was terrible. Bless their hearts. We must've come on a bad night (although idk what a "good" night for DQ is). The speaker outside barely worked, and we had to repeat our order at least 5 times. The girl working tried, but actually didn't even remember our order once she finally heard it. There was 1 other car in front of us and we probably waited about 15-20 minutes for 2 blizzards. The taste was fine, but after looking inside it didn't seem like the cleanest place to get ice cream. It took them way too long, and there was no sense of urgency. THE GOOD: I'll give my initial service 4 out of 5 's. Cashier was friendly and precise in his ability, but perhaps too rehearsed and robotic. .. Very little warmth. My mint Oreo blizzard was ready promptly, though they weren't busy. THE BAD: 3 out of 5's for the fact that the girl handing me my blizzard never even said thank you. She just tipped my blizzard upside down (like they do to show you how thick it is, which is fine) and pushed the cup in the air towards my general direction while looking over her shoulder and talking at another employee. I said thank you. The mint syrup wasn't fully blended leaving areas that we're very syrupy and others that were, well, too vanilla. THE UGLY: -5's (that's negative folks) I should have just gone somewhere else. While waiting for my blizzard the tray in front of me holding the spoons, forks, cup tops etc was disgustingly filthy. It hasn't been cleaned at all today, maybe even some time last week. Filthy pieces of breading, Pecan and candy chunks, smeared I don't know what (Chili or ketchup maybe?), drops of other people's ice cream, obvious dirty fingerprints of who knows how many customers. .. Also, the first 2 tables I tried to sit at had a smeary glare to them and were all sticky like they have been using the same dirty rag all day. .. Ultimately, I settled for a table with just sticky dried cup rings all over it that i had to brush crumbs off my own table and seat. Staff was swearing during a conversation by the front register. The manager or maybe shift leader or perhaps the only person that cared (he took my order) asked the offensive staff member to "watch the language out front please". He cleaned the tables too, only person that did from what I can see. HOORAH for you! Give that guy a raise, then clone him, and implant him at all your locations. SUMMARY: I AM NOT COMING BACK! ... If I could have not given any stats I would have, but the system won't allow it. Anyhow, my husband came home with a banana split. In case you've never had one; a banana split is a fresh cut up banana, ice cream a scoop of pineapple, strawberry, hot fudge, whipped cream with a cherry on top. Let's talk about the one given to my husband. Barely any ice cream. He asked for no fudge but substitute with extra pineapple. (I guess they thought that meant no strawberry either because there were none!) When spooning into the split we first thought upon seeing dark brown/black that they added fudge anyway. NOPE! - it was the banana. The WHOLE banana, inside & out, was black! The whole banana! After throwing it away I called the store and got no answer. Six times I called the store. This morning I called the store 3 times and still no answer. All I wanted to do was tell them to throw out their bananas and rereach how to make a split. Dairy Queen ice cream is great, but this location, not so much. I rarely go out for ice cream but this location is closest to my house. The entrance and drive thru is weird and confusing if you aren't familiar with it. But honestly, I was indifferent to this specific location until last night I went to the drive through with my friend. We both got a simple ice cream order and the girl working the window had an attitude. When we got to the window she was complaining and talking about the customers negatively in front of us, while completing the transaction. First rule of customer service, don't talk about customers within ear shot. She was so rude, and basically yelled at me because I didn't grab my card from her right away. This location also randomly closes the inside and forces you to go through the drive thru but then the staff can't handle it. We took advantage of their $5 lunch specials and upgraded the sundae to a blizzard. (BTW - kudos to Joe D's suggestion of a peanut butter chocolate blizzard!) The customer service was great & the place and associated facilities clean enough. Visited this Dairy Queen yesterday for an extra large vanilla cone & it was a disgrace what they tried to give us & then tried to state the weight of the cone was correct when it was obviously not! The ice cream didn't even fill out the cone! If DQ thinks their ice cream is gold, they have a rude awakening coming. $7.40 for 2 disgraceful cones, we told them to keep them & must say they were shocked.
