This is my 100TH REVIEW of the YEAR (2019). WOOT, WOOT. I had an extremely bad day in early July so a friend bought me some ice-cream to cheer me up. This is very average ice cream shop but it does the job if you are craving something sweet. I had chocolate ice-cream on a cone. It was alright. My friend had a chocolate cone as well. I wasn't in the mood to take a photo so I didn't take one of my ice-cream cone. It is a $1.89 each for a medium size cone which is super cheap. My friend said their Blizzards are good (a thick milkshake stuffed with different toppings). Service was good. We walked in around 7:30pm and the line was not long. Since I don't live in the Mayfield Heights neighbourhood, I most likely won't be back here because there are other ice-cream shops where I live. Don't let the drive thru line wrapped around the street deter you. The staff here is used to the craziness and manages it well. I was in and out of it in 5 minutes. I find the treats to be exactly what you've come to expect from the brand. The staff hasn't yet come into the fullness of personable. The interactions I have had have been short, to the point, and without warmth. Adjust expectations in that area. read more

As a company, Dairy Queen is very good at ensuring consistency across locations, and as such the delicious frozen confections here are as wonderful as you would expect. There is limited seating- just a handful of tables. But unlike the lactose intolerant people mentioned earlier, you won't find loose stools here- just tight chairs and clean tables. If you want to find the worlds worst Dairy Queen, you have found it! We asked for two brownie blizzards. We received two vanilla blizzards with brownie bits. Their correction to the mistake was just as poor after telling them we specifically wanted the chocolate brownie extreme blizzard. Then we were given a barely chocolate base, with mostly chocolate chips and very small buts of brownie here and there. Not to mention one was half melted. Then when we pulled up to the window my boyfriend was singing and the guy very rudely said "why are you acting like that" when my boyfriend responded he said you don't like singing and the guy got mad and threw my boyfriends milkshake in the garbage and missed so ice cream got every where and then he went on his phone and turned his back to us. I have been going to this Dairy Queen since I was a little girl, so I have a LOT of fond memories. Exterior/Location: A large, newer Dairy Queen that now has Orange Julius too...remember those? Interior: Is white tiled floors with a wall of freezers that sell all of my favorite take home ice cream cakes and ice cream bars. They have a few tables, but since they are jammed in to their space, I would not recommend eating in. Vibe/Ambiance: Kid friendly, welcoming. Super casual. The place smells sweet, like childhood. Staff: Mostly high school kids Clientele: Anyone who likes ice cream. Price: Inexpensive. A lot of the boutique ice cream shops charge triple the amount. Must get items: Peanut buster parfait! Why I love or hate it: LOVE.... this was the only ice cream store we had in the area. Sometimes there is nothing better then a plain soft serve cone. YOUR SATURDAY, MAY 25, 2020 MEMORIAL DAY STAFF WAS THE WORST! Usually, they have a pretty good team of people but today, was just ridiculous!!!!! The drive-thru line is already super long, which is understandable due to the pandemic and the weather; but a small cone needed to be added at the window to my 2 slushee, pup cone order and I was told "NO" when I pulled up to pay. The young man said that I had to go back into that really long line for a small cone. Him accommodating me would not have held up their line, for the simple fact that I was already waiting at the window for 3 minutes (I timed it) to get my slushees that were sitting on a roller cart. They have a walk-up window and I ask him if I could just get the 2 cones from the walk-up. He replied yes, sure. So.....I exited the window with no debate, waited in traffic just to get back into the parking lot, then approached the walk-up window. The manager comes to the window, only to tell me that I cannot get my cone, because that window's just for cake pick ups. Im angry because I just saw a young man wearing an Ohio State shirt pick up 2 cups of something from their store at that window. I explained to the "manager" what the young man at the drive-up window instructed me to do, and I told him that he should make an exception since I was told by his staff that I could pick up my cone at this window. He walked off to the back and after 7 minutes (yeap, I timed it) still hadn't returned to speak to me. By now, I could have gotten back in that extremely long slow moving line. So, after asking a staff member where the manager went and they said he's in the back, I got back in my car, back into line and ordered requesting to speak to the "mystery manager" that left me standing at their window for over 7 minutes. The same "manager" who told me what they couldn't do said that he was trying to call his GM and that she said to not make this matter better but to tell me "oh well" you have to get back in line. Well GM Jess....to avoid situations like this FIRST put up a sign in your walk-up window that says that this windows only for cake orders, second, TRAIN YOUR STAFF!!! Don't tell me that I can go to the window, when I obviously couldn't! Third, maybe APPRECIATE being patronized, and allow your managers to troubleshoot! I was GREATLY GREATLY GREATLY INCONVENIENCED and I should have been apologized to and given that damn cone for free or a coupon for the future! Supply and demand for DQ's in this region of Cleveland means that I'm likely to return, but don't think that I won't spread the word to my followers about how I was treated at your location. read more

i want to rate this a 0 but it's not possible. my mother went to the dairy queen here after a rough day and to pick up ice cream for our family since we had a rough day as well. she got there and once she ordered she couldn't go inside, and all she ordered was ice cream and a chili dog. she was waiting in the parking lot for 15 MINUTES waiting for her chili dog while her ice cream was melting, and once she went to the window to ask for it, an employee told her they weren't ready. then, another one came up and explained that the chili dog had already been ready and they were "looking for her". which obviously was not true because she was parked extremely close to the front of the store in the lot and was checking out of the window every 30 seconds. also, since she had a bad day she came off somewhat annoyed, and because of this there was an employee in the back laughing at her. not to mention that they were not understaffed or anything like that, they had plenty of employees. they were just being rude. i used to like this dairy queen but i hate seeing my mom so miserable. 1 star. read more

Customer service is not a priority it seems... Lots of employees texting on their phones and the store seems to have lots of employees standing around and it upsets the customers. Ice cream is good though I love to eat it and shove chili cheese dogs down my throat. When I used to work there I used to decorate cakes while eating my chili cheese dogs. I never EVER wore gloves while I made my food and I always was eating candy out of the cambro containers as I decorated cakes. They let me get away with EVERYTHING!! I used to love Dairy Queen but this one has seriously gone downhill. Growing up, this one was fine but as I got older it got worse. It always smells like sour milk and vomit in there, and this problem has persisted for quite some time and they haven't done anything about it. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell and it makes you wonder about the cleanliness. Also, it is pricey and you do not get a lot for the amount you pay. A small blizzard costs like 4 dollars and there is barely anything in it. The last time I had a twix blizzard the Twix was so old it was pretty hard and it didn't taste very good. This Dairy Queen is dirty and you got a 50/50 shot of getting an actual blizzard. If you go through the drive thru they will charge you 1rst then give you a runny blizzard with a cardboard collar around it to keep it from spilling. Not the definition of a blizzard. i will not be going back to this dairy queen ever again...I usually love dairy queen and i really love the brownie earthquakes but i always and note i have never had this issue with ANY other dairy queen i have ever been too. I like my brownie warm so they usually toss it in the microwave before making it. So this was my first time at this one and they informed me that they were not going to do this and it wasn't because it was rules or anything it was because this little teenager whom stated she was the supervisor didn't feel like doing it. Asked to speak to someone who was higher up than her and there was another young girl standing there talking to the employees. She informed me that she was the manager but she was clocked out so i could only deal with her. The entire store was full of teens working there hanging out and talking about what they were going to do this weekend, no one was working so the time she took to explain to me why she wouldn't heat my brownie i gladly let her know she could have been getting it together by now.
