We have been going to this location for many years. We do like their 50% off sale in November and Feb, look at their facebook page for dates. I like the blizzards, sundaes, cakes, frozen treats and coffee drinks. The staff is great! The service is fast. We will be back for more treats. read more

Dairy Queen in South Elgin is a favorite spot for me and my family! With such a great variety of treats, we go there regularly during the summer, and during special days like the 50% off sale (around Thanksgiving and Valentine's Saturday). The Oreo Blizzard, Caramel Moolatte, Turtle Sundae, Banana Split, and strawberry sundae/Blizzard are our favorite choices, and we have enjoyed their frozen cakes as well! The service is usually good, though like many popular spots, the crowds can sometimes make the wait a bit longer. With both indoor and outdoor seating, they offer a cozy atmosphere. It is a perfect ice cream place to enjoy a sweet treat when the weather's nice or during those special sales! read more

Tried to give this place another chance for the 20th time, and they got my order wrong - again. I placed an order for a strawberry cheesecake blizzard - first bite - peanut butter. What if I was allergic? Won't be going back anymore. High prices and inconsistent service. read more

Tried putting in an order for a birthday cake, 45 hours in advance. Was told at first they couldn't do an advanced order because it wasn't 48 hours in advance. The (assumed) teenager did take the order, but called me about 2 hours later wanting a payment and said her manager told her to call and get payment. Ironically her manager was no longer there. You could tell the associate was nervous. Received a call today asking for payment or else my order would be canceled. If I had only been 3 hours ahead of my game, then there would be no prepayment needed. I called another DQ, made an order no payment required with only 27 hours notice. I called and spoke with the rude (assumed) manager (I asked for the manager and this woman said she could help me) of this DQ to cancel. She seemed unphased by my cancellation. We sat in line for 40 minutes in line indoors waiting to have our orders taken and they had 4 people working. Very disappointed in the service as my father gave up on wanting anything as we had somewhere to be. I do not recommend at all. read more

Was kind of put off by the attitude of the staff behind the counter at this South Elgin Location. First cut me off demanding that my daughter couldn't remain in the shop because she didn't think her face covering was enough ( Would be the first time in all the stores we've been in since the start of COVID). Super argumentative when trying to order a cone for my daughter. Finally a cup of ice cream was placed on the counter to which I questioned since I ordered a cone, the lady behind the counter barks at me "That's what you agreed to." Yep never going back to this location, the Elgin store off big timber always has been super with our experiences. Will be sticking to that one. read more

This was my first time at a Dairy Queen ever! Friends hyped it up a lot because I enjoy Oreo McFlurries at McDonalds. Service: The staff was very friendly and all wore friendly smiles. I was in and out of the place no problem. 1st Blizzard: To be honest I was a tad disappointed. I was expecting the Ice Cream to be a lot thicker. I had a Strawberry CheeseQuake and it was too close to Milkshake status. The Strawberry Ice Cream was also a tad lackluster. I did however enjoy the plentiful Cheesecake chunks they added. It was made just right and it wasn't too cheesy. I can't wait to come back and try out their Oreo Blizzard. I might decide to update my review then! read more

Unfriendly staff. I bought a coupon, but small print showed a different location. Cashier girl with neon nails was unfriendly and made me feel small. Didn't appreciate it especially with 7 children with me. Will not be coming here again. We'll go to the correct location on the coupon. read more

Several years ago I stopped there a couple of times for buster bars, we love them, generally. They were skimpy compared to Chicago Street and Dundee. Never went back until today - The drive thru guy was an ass and insulted me, and there were 7 SEVEN peanuts and invisible fudge. They have lost me again with their greed. Absolutely the BEST Dairy Queen you will ever find. The nicest, nicest people run this place, and they obviously train their staff very well. No matter who has ever taken my order, he or she is polite and anxious to prepare whatever I want, whatever way I want it. And they are open year-round, thank goodness!! I would just like to begin with how disappointed I am in this company. I order a brownie extreme blizzard, all excited- just for it to have chocolate chips and one tiny bite sized brownie for an ant. They messed up a sundae I had also got and put vanilla instead of chocolate, even though the receipt specified chocolate. The landscape is very overgrown brushing cars in drive thru lane which creates a storm of bugs in your car. Don't leave your windows down on nice days in this drive thru. Apparently management doesn't pay much attention to the outside. A crate of tiles has been sitting outside by backdoor for months. Who cares to see their food held up-side down anyway, it's annoying to have to watch. Maybe teach them to use a set of hedge trimmers instead. read more

Friendly customer service but incredibly slow. Waited for 10 minutes in drive up line just to give order then waited another 10 minutes in line to get to pickup window. Items weren't even made so waited yet another 5 minutes for just 3 Blizzards. Food tasted good but 25 minutes is too long. Appeared to be only two employees having to work counter and drive up.
