I don't typically visit or review chains or 'fast food" but for a quick soft serve cone or a blizzard, Dairy Queen hits the spot. We were greeted right when we walked in by a very pleasant employee who chatted with us while taking and preparing our order. Nice serving sizes. Cake and packaged Dilly bars available to go Small seating area if you want to sit and eat in. The seating was a little cramped and worn though. My rating rationale  +1 Service +1 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +.5 Atmosphere/vibe +1 Value

My kids wanted DQ so badly, so we all went for Blizzards. The store is located in a pretty busy shopping center off of Broad St. The manager was very active in and out of the store. I stayed in the car while the kids went inside, but I watched him opening the door for customers, taking napkins to customers outside the store, and keeping the door clean. The service was quick & my kids said the cashiers were kind of nice. They were able to get our treats fast, and that was the point. Masks were required & the store is small, but they tried to enforce social distancing between themselves and the customers. They had tables between them and the front counter. We will definitely go back.

Caramel Cannonball Blizzard

Dairy Queen has been one of the staples of my childhood, and this location never fails. Today, I ordered a mini Blizzard - the caramel cannonball is great if you love caramel. My only qualm was that my server didnt flip it upside down! :( I also sampled my friends' Blueberry Cheesecake Blizzard (very light with good flavors) and an Oreo Cookie Jar Blizzard (too sweet and heavy, we couldn't finish). One thing I love about this DQ location is the great sitting area outside, and I will definitely be coming back on nice warm days.

Strawberry & Caramel DQ Ice Cream Cake from Glen Allen DQ.

If you want to be reminded what great service is come to the Dairy Queen in Glen Allen. When I needed a cake the next day for my wife's birthday party, they did NOT say they needed 48 hours notice, but worked with me to make it happen. Also, they gave us the flavors we wanted as opposed to rigidly insisting on a standard menu. In short, great people and great service are always a winning combination.

They have made a cake for my son's birthday for the past two years. Very easy to communicate with and an overall great experience!

Back again, fantastic as always. Our server Brandon was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive…read more Started with fried green tomatoes, one of our favorite appetizers. They're so good! I had the braised beef short ribs, which were melt-in-your -mouth. Paired with garlic mashed potatoes, roasted root veg, and some of the best collard greens I've ever had. He had the fried chicken with hot honey, garlic mashed potatoes, and more collard greens. That fried chicken was so crispy and delicious. Had the peach cobbler bread pudding for dessert, and it was an EXPERIENCE. The only thing that would have made the meal better was some of the slab bacon, but we'll know to come for breakfast or lunch for that next time!

Farm and Oak has been on my list and I finally made it!…read more My husband and I wanted to have lunch out and picked Farm and Oak because we haven't visited this restaurant. They have a very limited menu at lunch so you have a few appetizers to choose from, a few salads and sandwiches and burgers, so straight up American food. It does skew southern with crab cake sandwich, pimento cheese and fried chicken. For an appetizer we decided to try the wings. They were good and came with ranch drizzled over the wings. For entrees my husband got their farm & oak burger with Cole slaw and I got their wedge salad with fried chicken. Both were good. The salad was nice and cold and crisp, which was appreciated on such a hot day. It did have too much dressing so next time I might ask for less dressing or have it on the side. I enjoyed the food, service was good and it is a pretty restaurant. I'll probably come back for supper some time to try some of their more in-depth meals.
