This location sells cakes, dilly bars, and other treats. There is a handful of seats inside, but there is no restroom. On our way home, my best friend asked to stop at Dairy Queen for a sweet treat. It was an unusual beautiful day in Minnesota like nearly 45 degrees in the month of February (wowza), so it called for an ice cream fix. Placed our order through the drive thru and when I went to pay, I asked to use a coupon via the mobile app. Like hello who doesn't love savings in today's economy?!! I was told they don't have a scanner and the coupon couldn't be accepted. Honestly, I was taken aback. I then asked if they could honor it anyway since he could clearly see it on my phone, the answer was still no. You'd think for customer retention and satisfaction, they'd try to find a solution to using the coupon. Ordering through the app was not an option as this location doesn't take mobile orders. No alternative was offered, just a nope to the coupon use. It's unfortunate and honestly frustrating. This whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I won't be returning to this location solely based on this experience today. Went for a good time, did not meet my expectations. Whoever worked the drive through the night of Thursday October 16th 2025 could use some customer service training , actually some doesn't cut it. She needs an intense workshop. We ordered 3 blizzards, tried to place separately however we were met by "just come inside" understandably me and my girls are flexible here however we were the only ones in the drive through and could've hypothetically all been in different cars and she wouldn't have said nothing. She than didn't hear us which is due to the poor microphone on the drive through which also needs to be replaced by management. We go to the window takes the card no words. Hands us each blizzard DOES NOT FLIP THEM UPSIDE DOWN. And DOES NOT TALK. Me and my girls were actually scared by this worker like seriously. I went there tonight. I got there at 845 waiting in line one inside. There was 15 people standing in the line and there was 10 cars outside. I got up to the window and to place my order through the drive through and she told me. Oh, I'm sorry we're closed. I'm like I've been waiting here for 25 minutes. I'm sorry, we'regardless she took my order. Her name was may. She was very rude. She had friends and they're waiting for her to get done. I've never seen a small business turn away. 15 people cause. Yes, they've made the people inside and only get Dilly bars, and they all walked out empty handed and their 6 cars behind me. They told them no, we were closed. I've never seen a business. A pretty average Dairy Queen. Nothing super special. I find the staff to be okay and most of them seem young. The lines do get long at night so beware. Note. This DQ dosnt do the full food menu. I stop here for ice cream and have noticed anything that would be fried is not available. I recommend the blizzards if you have never had one it is ice cream with toppings mixed in. Growing up in Minnesota, two things are a given: You shop at Target and have ice cream at DQ. This DQ is the old school kind with not much seating inside, but you can sit outside. Mostly it's all about the drive-thru. I live nearby and most the time I stop to just get a dipped cone. But sometimes I splurge and go for a Blizzard or Peanut Buster Parfait. And this is where 1 star gets knocked off: the quality is not consistent. Most the time, my cone is crooked. Which is fine in the winter, but not in the summer when you then have to race against the heat to eat it before it melts and tips or slides off the cone. Is there a reason for this crooked standard I wonder because it happens all the time. Leaning Tower Of Ice Cream.... Also, Bizzards are hit or miss. I usually order a banana split blizzard. The one I got probably in early Feb was PERFECTION. Thick, mixed awesome with just the right amount of all the ingredients. But this last time which was this past weekend, I got one that was just sad. A few banana pieces right on top, no more below. Only a trace of strawberries. Almost white in color, meaning very little chocolate syrup was added. And the entire bottom (1 inch+) was unmixed ice cream...just plain old white soft serve. When you pay close to $5 for a blizzard, it should be made right. We have gotten several Ice cream cakes there and they are mostly good. But the one we got in December for my daughters birthday was disappointing in that it was skimpy on the choco crumble/fudge filling. Like really skimpy and we all noticed & whined, lol. That cake was a lot of money ($28) and I didn't feel like we got the cake we paid for. And that's where my other star gets knocked off. The prices at this DQ seem to be a little higher than others. But I also know it's a Franchise so I don't mind being charged a little more for a "Mom & Pop" shop. Besides, the Corporate run DQ's are usually nightmares. They have gone downhill over the years and I prefer not to avoid them. That beign said, the staff at this St Anthony location are always very friendly and helpful. Good kids! Every cake I've ordered from here has been so great. Other locations around the area have a pretty weak selection for cakes, however, this location always has so many options. And as soon as you buy a cake an employee immediately fills that empty spot in the freezer, they always have so many great options and can do pretty much any design you ask. Most locations only have primary colors but this location has a plethora of colors to choose from for the writing on the cake, pretty neat. If you need a cake for any event I would recommend this location. Also, with everything going on I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the store. Everyone wore masks and had gloves they'd change after each customer. It definitely made me feel safe and glad to return in the near future for my nieces birthday cake! read more

Avoid the DQ in St Anthony, MN! It was located at 2612 Highway 88. Went through the drive thru & got a pup cup+small blizzard. With the wind blowing so much, I had problems hearing the person. After getting my order with no receipt, I went in to ask about the total amount I was charged. I got the receipt and found out that I was charged $ 2.59 for the pup cup (2 squirts and a petite dog bone). The person I talked to was snarky and told me "Nothing's for free" along with a smile. Ordered and paid for the extra candy in the blizzard and asked if there was extra candy in there before they boy handed them to me and he assured me there were. It didn't have any extra whatsoever. I know first world problems. Service was less than mediocre and the product is what you would expect from a Dairy Queen. The man running the Dairy Queen called me a f**king loser and mocked my physical appearance because I came in and requested a refund for what I deemed a poorly made malt. I used no foul language nor made any rude comments, just stated that I received a poor product twice in a row, and wanted a refund the second time. The man told me to get out, that they were closing. He then went to grab me to kick me out. Keep in mind, I had made NO show of resistance or aggression to warrant their behavior. I left willingly. Also, the woman working with him then mocked me for being unhappy with their product, then started filming me on her phone as if I was suddenly a threat. Never had a bad experience here. I used to come here pretty regularly until I jumpstarted my diet. I always got blizzards and they were made perfectly every time. I have been to other DQs who seem to skimp out on ingredients and sometimes even ice-cream. Well, when I am paying $5+ for ice cream I am wanting it to be at least decently packed full of delicious candies and actual ice cream. The only complaint I have is that when paying with a card at the drive thru it seems to take an unnecessarily long time to process. I try and pay with cash here due to that delay. read more

I've ordered at the St. Anthony DQ before - usually with OK results. This evening was just too BAD not to make a comment. I wanted a quick supper and ordered their Polish Sausage. It was cold -- not just 'didn't serve it right away cold' but refrigerator cold -- it HAD NOT BEEN COOKED!!!! After I returned to the store they did give me my money back, but what a hassle and waste of gasoline. The only good thing is it has turned me off fast food for a long time. The raw food just added to the bad experience when ice-milk dripped all over my hand when they handed me my float. The drive through is convenient but it has never been a place where quality control is consistent. Now with cooked food being served raw it is downright dangerous. read more
