Apparently this store thinks they are the mask police. Even though the state of California and the county say that vaccinated people do not need to wear a mask, this store will kick you out if you choose not to wear one. I had a basket full of items and I was headed to the checkout when I was approached and told that I cannot shop here unless I put their mask on. I really liked this store before but the rude customer service and unconstitutional 'rules' make me not want to come here ever again. I will also tell everyone I know to not go here. Everything is $1.50, unless there is a different price attached to it. There are many Asian items here that are harder to find anywhere. All sales are final, and there are no exchanges. I didn't see signs that said this, and the cashier didn't mention this fact as I was paying. I only noticed because there was a big red stamp on the receipt I received stating it. If I had known, I would have checked my items better, but I was following the "Do not open package. If you break it, we may ask you to buy it." signs they had plastered everywhere. It would be my own naive fault for buying a broken item. Yeah, right. There is no minimum charge for debit cards, but there is a $10 minimum for credit cards. Usually, it is the other way around. I used to like this a lot. 5 Stars. The one star rating is to reflect the slow and gradual decline in good stocks. Over the months, all the "good value" items (such as double sided tapes of different sizes and strength; super strong magnets; ballpoint pen w 6+ colors in one pen, and many others) are disappearing from the shelf. If you are first time customer you will still have fun shopping but I felt that they are more focus reaping the maximum profit and decreasing the varieties, cutting good quality items and going towards "cheaper" things (such as three small roll of not very good scotch tapes, etc. - in another words stuff u can find in 99 cents store albeit in a different packaging or color). There are many novelty items such as little plastic eraser toys which are slightly cheaper here (but not as much varieties as u could have found in Tokyo Central etc.)... But how many of those u need in your life time?? I found that, in the past, I rely on this store for household "consumable" items, which I found has been markedly decreasing in varieties and qualities. I don't know if some of the Daiso within driving distance are owned by the same owner, but I have observed the same stock changeover in couple other stores. That's sad. Daiso Japan = My Guilt Free Shop Therapy I'm not kidding when I say guilt free. Everything in this place is $1.50 unless marked otherwise. Not only do I love the fact that everything is so cheap, I literally just LOVE everything in Daiso! The stationary, the snacks, the kitchen dish ware, and all the random nick nacks that they have keep me coming back like a knick knack ADDICT!!!! Bring your sunglasses, this is probably one of the brightest Daiso Japan I have ever visited. The store is very well maintained. It's clean, cashiers are added to the register if the lines are long, and there are usually workers walking around the aisles if you need help finding anything. The sections are well grouped together and definitely more organized than the 99 cent only stores! $10 minimum on credit card purchases, and no returns! read more

Daiso is always a fun place to go to. I can walk out of the store with a giant bag of things and it'll cost me less than $20!!! There are lots of little knick knack things to buy. Great for reorganizing your room, kitchen or bathroom. read more

LOVE this store! My sister has talked about it and even sent me some items from there. I was home for Christmas from Tenn and got a chance to go check it out. If I lived back home in SoCalif I would shop here ALL the time! All the teeny tiny dishes and trays. The Japanese snacks, all the knick-knacks, so awesome. Huge place! Tons of cute random items. Very clean and organized. I went with my mom who has no patience so I wasn't able to look at everything. But the employees were very nice. Daiso - Sweet come up! Chalk board & chalk markers! - Discount Store Near Me - Chino Hills, California

This Daiso isn't as stocked as the one in Rowland Heights. BUT it will have all the things you need-- and things you wont need. I usually like to buy notebooks with pages w/ no lines here since I do a lot of engineering math and notes but the big notebooks with no lines aren't stocked here (i haven't found any for a while) but there's the little ones... which would do, I guess. I wouldn't buy makeup here if I were you but the nose strip things actually work!! and they're only 1.50. Grandma slippers will do it's job and theres really nice face towels for washing your face or you can use it as a gym towel. GREAT store in general! just not as stocked / beef'd up as the rowland one. read more

I love it here! Everything is inexpensive and is a decent quality. Think of it as a high class .99 cent store/CVS. Since everything is so cheap and really cute you just want to buy everything. We got a really good deal on some dishes and bowls. They have so many things there such as clothes, stationary, bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, and even snacks! I would totally recommend. read more

Awesome shop for a lot of useful household items for cheaper than walmart and better quality than 99cent stores/ dollar tree. (Better dish washing cloths, plates and dishes, storage units, makeup sponges, etc) People who don't like this store as much might be because most products are geared towards the Asian living style. (Ex: laundry nets, gloves for driving, mini size clothings, sunblock for cars, etc) Watch out for getting sucked into over-buying cute/ useless things (because there are a lot of those too: random cheap decors, toothpaste squeezer, etc) Create a check list and stick to it. There is no return policy, but then again, buy carefully so u dont need to. I also do not recommend getting any skincare/ makeup/ anything that goes on your skin unless you don't care about where they came from and how they were made. Or, you know the brands and have used them before. That's just the Asian me thinking that if things are $1.50 then they are probably harmful to skin. That's my two cents with this place. read more

Every time I come here, I end up buying useless thing, ugh! I can spend like $40-50. I mean they have cute things but once I get them home, I always ask myself, "why did I get this"? The service is ok, and of course you can't return anything, so just be careful, and don't buy unnecessary things. They do have a few good thing too, they have back massagers, watch batteries, small dishes, stuff like that, but I noticed, labels like stickers and pens and markers, don't work very well. However, I do not like all the restrictions they have (like the other Daisos). You have to hit $10 before using a credit card, there are no returns, only exchanges, etc, etc. The store is brand new so they have everything well stocked. Their employees at the register mingle upon themselves while the employees out on the floor are restocking. There are some hidden treasures here, but you have to find them ;) And the location is nice, right next to another Asian market, 99 Ranch! read more

Who doesn't love adorable asian knick knacks?? At these prices, everything's a steal!! I've been to a number of locations, and although this is a smaller location and lacks some items, it's closer than driving to the one in Hacienda Heights. It's crazy the cute and sometimes random things you'll find at this store. I can't tell you how many times I've gone in for one thing and then ended up finding random things to toss into my basket. I'm constantly amazed that I find new things to buy every time I come here. And at $1.50, how can you not buy it?! Great variety of affordable items, everyday essentials, snacks, stationary, honestly they have a bit of everything. Of course you get what you pay for and not all items are of the utmost quality, however I've been pleasantly surprised with many of my finds and have made this a regular stop everytime I'm in California. read more

The only way to describe this store is its like a Japanese Dollar store.. Everything is $1.50 unless marked otherwise. The store is super clean. Stocked and not with crap items. Yes some of the items are more but it's clearly marked on the item. The store reminds me of all the little things you can get at the Tokyo Discount store in Las Vegas. Not your average dollar store. Daiso has everything and more that you probably would not think of. They have random products for ex: breeding empty cages for Insects or pets, from wannabe crocs, to nose pores removers. Good place for people to roam around and window shop but again be tempted to purchase something because of how cheap (and possibly) how useless it is. This place is the only location that I've seen the employees place a "paid" sticker on to literally every item you purchase. Wow! I can find from A to Z from this little store. The quality is much better than a dollar store, and the price is unbeatable for $1.50 (some items have marked prices if they cost more than $1.50). I have pretty much bought many household items from this place. Their designs are unique, and it always amazes me of how many good finds are detailed and enjoyable here. I've been meaning to review Daiso for a few months then I just stumbled upon a collection of about 50 erasers I purchased for my daughter over the last few years, erasers that don't actually erase, but are super cute. That pretty much sums up Daiso. They have a wide variety of items that appear great but won't really last and/or serve a purpose. The tasty Japanese snacks can also be purchased for less next door at 99 Ranch. Daiso has a very STRICT no return/exchange policy that gives me anxiety. Signs are posted everywhere and also stamped on your receipt. So if your knick knacks get chipped on the way home or if you discover your erasers don't actually erase, or if those cute flip flops break after one use, you're stuck with them, do not, I repeat DO NOT even bother trying to return! At first you'll shrug it off, its only a $1.50 right but then after a few years you'll realize $1.50 times ?? = oh my gosh!!! If you've never been, you should check it out but be very mindful of your purchases or you'll end up salty like me! read more

Great value for all the little treasures you find at Daiso. Since this location is relatively new, everything is still well stocked, clean and orderly. I love just wandering the aisles to check out all the cute little finds and wished I had a need for all the containers and knick knacks. Some labels are in another language so I have to depend on the pictures or investigating the product if I'm unsure what it's for...primarily with the cosmetic stuff. This place is perfect! Today was my first time going there and I'm already planing to go back tomorrow for somethings I missed. As far as pricing goes, $1.50 for most items I did see some items for $3 which isn't bad at all! Very clean,bright lighting and excellent customer service! Five packs of eyelashes, two pairs socks,a pack of four pens, two adorable cosmetic containers, two packs chocolate pandas were on my list tonight. Nice selection of stuff. Lots of Cute and colorful stuff and useful tools. I try to only buy stuff I need or will use but so many other cute stuff too. This is one of the larger stores I've been too and have a bigger selection. Clean and organized store. Prices starting at $1.50 and up. Most products have Asian writing with small English writing and sometimes hard to figure out what it is but I realize I'm in an Asian store so it's not that big of deal, but just takes a little Longer to shop. If you want to experience a little of Japan and its wares come here. They have Japanese makeup, snacks, lotions, drinks and so much more. I always get the snacks cause I grew up with them. Plus, my Mom doesn't have to send it from Guam for me. I've gotten lots of different things from here, but my fave is the snacks, little lunch containers and small travel containers. read more

This is a beautiful new store in Chino, plenty of parking and well organised inside. Amazing items , I found plenty of things and beautiful trash cans were $1.50 so were the car sun shades. One Daiso is mostly like another but this location gets 5 stars for its neighbors: next to a 99 Ranch Market and around the corner from a Costco. Even if Chino Hills is a little out of the way, there are other businesses you can bundle into your visit here. The store itself is not the largest Daiso I've been to but isn't one of the tiny locations either. Lots of parking and easy access to the freeway, too. read more

I've never seen an employee so blatantly rude to customers. This young cashier with long hair brown highlighted hair pulled to the side and a grey sweater was incredibly rude to an older couple. I only noticed because she yelled at the customer over and over to sign the atm after using her card . And gave her the meanest look and rolled her eyes. YOU NEVER TALK TO A CUSTOMER THE WAY SHE DID! I honestly was shocked at the way she treated them. I've worked customer service for more then 15 years and I know how hectic it can get, but the way she spoke to that elderly couple was just rude and disrespectful. 1/28/19 12:25pm I'm so distraught by the way she acted towards them I went straight to my car after purchasing my items just to write this review. This is probably my favorite place to buy school supplies and face masks. I frequently buy different types of masks here and they're pretty decent. The school supplies are very cute and the painting supplies are really good, especially for the price its a good deal. Daiso also has a small selection of snacks & noodles which are always worth a try, I really enjoy their calbee honey butter chips. read more

Daiso was an extraordinarily brilliant place to do my grocery shopping at. Unfortunately, ever since Daiso lost an employee named Steven Chong, Daiso's service has gone down the drain. Daiso's cleanliness and overall service has gotten overwhelmingly dreadful and I will never shop at Daiso ever again. read more

What this Daiso lacks in square footage of space (don't worry, I think the smallest one is off Sawtelle in West LA) and mediocre service, it makes up for in spotlessness. I spent many a visits here this past holiday season trying to find tea leaf mesh balls, and noticed that this store was über clean each time I went, compared to the other 3 sister locations I've been to. Guess the fact that it's lodged in an Asian plaza in Chino Hills really does make a difference! read more
