I was mostly excited for the snacks and office supplies (foodie nerd combo). I was let down. The food section was quite small. The office supplies were great price wise but the selection was small. The employees were nowhere to be found until I hit the register. My wife hit the jackpot with stationary and pen pal oriented treats. I was let down but still happy I went. This store is amazing. Wish they had more locations in South Sac so the drive isn't so long. The staff are always super friendly. The store always has a little bit of variety everytime I come. So I always leave with something new. My biggest con is how small the space is. That aisles are very narrow. Not to mention blocked a lot when the store first opened because the employees are usually restocking. Wish they would restocked before the store opens, because I've seen them just walk around. So glad this place reopened now in front of the food court. I am a bit disappointed that the promotional bags required a purchase or something that couldn't be heard over the speaker so my purchase didn't count. I got most of the things I needed so I'm happy to with the new spot but still a bit disappointing to spend sixty bucks and not get one of those little bags.... overall, cool to see it open again but they should expand the stationary section and cut back on the price raising because it takes away from the idea of a dollar store. The store is so nice just to walk around and take a look at everything. Very unnecessary items yet cute. Most items don't have a price tag and if they do it would be in Japanese currency. A lot of Mickey Mouse and Disney items which I didn't want to see in Japanese stores. I bought a couple of food items and snacks to try them out. Prices were fair. read more

Okay, so this place totally wasn't what I was expecting but Holy cats did I love it!!! Yes, there was a longish (30 min) line but personally I liked the teaser of the window shopping before hand, helps you lay out a strategy to maneuver the store (you'll need one). I kinda got overwhelmed with all the awesome household items, who doesn't need bright pink tongs and a pink hedgehog furniture duster!?!? The best finds I found: Klean color nail polish: hasn't chipped and tons of colors. Klean color lip gloss: again tons of colors and surprisingly really good texture and not sticky. There is a black and white squeeze bottle with no English word on it in the cosmetics section. It is a blackhead removal mask and it works great! Kitchenware: Holy cats the selections!!! Stay away from: The cute fuzzy socks. I've worn them for like 2 hours and they've started de-threading and goings saggy. read more

I spent several years living in Japan, so Daiso is always a treat to go into...except maybe in the time of Covid with the person at the entrance counting the number of customers coming and going, who at 6:40pm as we were walking in said loudly "WE CLOSE IN 20 MINUTES!" I am aware of mall hours, and do not appreciate an employee basically saying " be outta here in 20 minutes so I can go home!" before I even begin to enter the store. With her proclamation, we decided it wasn't worth it to even wander inside for five minutes, so we just turned around and left. Maybe train your employees to not be so incredibly rude. Everything from crafts, ceramic bowls and teacups, simple kitchen gadgets, snacks, to random cute stuff. They have tools, storage containers, office supplies, you name it! OMG FINALLY A NEW LOCATION NEARBY IN ROSEVILLE! Haven't check the new location yet but I used to go to the one in San Francisco whenever I visit San Francisco and once in Seattle. I love diaso bc it's a Asian version dollar store but cuter than regular dollar stores. Everything is $1.50 and some stuff might be more than $1.50 which still cheap! They have everything you could think of! House essentials/decors, office supplies, pets essentials, makeup, and much more! Can't wait to visit this new location soon! So happy omfg!!!!!! i finally went on 4/30/2016! i had to wait in line because they only let certain about of customers in and when they leave, you can go in. they will ask you how many of you guys. the aisles is really tight. so you got to squeeze your butt in. i went there to see if they have the santee waterproof liquid eyeliner that i bought when i visited in seattle and they did have them but it was a different color bottle (black) and brush.. so i bought two. fyi no refunds and returns. i tested it out on my eyelids and the brush was different and it was like a marker brush but you can dip. also the liquid eyeliner dries out quickly while i was applying it :(((( it's the same brand and product but it's no good ugh. also they didn't have that much makeup products and skincare products (masks and etc) :(((((( read more

I have shopped at Daiso in San Francisco, and because of that, my expectations were high. Spoiler alert: they were not met. The aisles are very narrow. You'll find yourself saying 'excuse me' a few dozen times. Patrons will accidentally hit you with their basket. Customer service is nonexistent. Omigosh, this store takes me back to shopping with my parents as a kid! Everything is Japanese and CHEAPPPPP!!! Like $1.50 cheap. Of course, you're going to get a cheaper quality but you can't beat those prices. It's hard to walk away without buying something....I dare you! I always love the little cute Asian stuff and also love the Asian snacks such as Pocky and Yan Yan. For real, some of the reviews on here are way too harsh. I just feel like I gotta stand up for dollar stores like Daiso right now Don't you people realize IT'S JUST A DOLLAR STORE?!? People that say Daiso sucks in comparison to anything other than another dollar store CLEARLY have unreasonable expectations of dollar stores. I don't expect the staff of any dollar store to greet me as I'm walking in, but they should definitely help me if I ask for it. I'm just a simple girl with basic needs, and maybe I just have low standards or something, but if they're at least courteous and helpful, I'm happy. -END RANT ANYWAY, with that said... They have cute stuff in the quality that you should expect for the price: generally $1.50. This is not to say that everything in the store is garbage, just don't go in expecting some top notch stuff. I've watched Daiso hauls on YouTube and couldn't wait to get to a Daiso store. I live in the South and the Daiso stores seem to only be in California. Thus, on a trip to Cali, I went for a look. This store was inside a mall, so it is much smaller than the ones I've seen on YouTube. However, I did get my fix. I bought 38 items and was tickled pink. Daiso Roseville--SHAME ON YOU for selling double eyelid tape!!! Get that product off the shelf! It is downright offensive, racist & degrading! We're not in Japan, this is the American market! Get your sh*t together! And I don't know if they make the aisles super narrow because they think it's "cute", or if they're trying to tell people who are of a certain weight & size that "Hey, you're not welcomed here!". This is a problem with all the Daiso stores I've ever shopped at. Now, of course, not the whole store is bad. There are many awesome products sold here & things you likely won't find elsewhere like dried squid chips or potato & sardine chips, but Daiso, you should know better than to sell double eyelid tapes. I saw so many happy & little Asian girls shopping in here with their moms today & it broke my heart to know that they would possibly see such a product, which tells many of them how undesirable & how unbeautiful they are unless they look a certain way. Came here on their second weekend and they were still so busy that they had to monitor how many people entered. I thought it was a little ridiculous at first but later very much appreciated it because it is a small store with aisles very close to together. It would have been overwhelming to have shopped in tight quarters with so many people. It made for a much more pleasant shopping experience. Most of the items are a minimum $1.50 with some items a little more. The highest price I saw was $4.00. Some things I felt were a little over priced while many things I thought were a steal of a deal! I love their plastic containers of all kinds of shapes and sizes you dont normally see. We spent $18 and got a bag full of stuff. I will definitely be back. Just wish they didnt choose the mall as their location. They would have been better off across the way with a dedicated parking lot. As for the person who had a hissy about the double eyelid tape, really? I picked up several and was tempted to try it out as I have asian eyes. I didn't get them as I didn't think it would be very comfortable or functional but I am not offended whatsoever. Compared to the Bay Area and So Cal locations, this store is a lot smaller and the aisles are more compact. Get comfy, cause you'll be doing a lot of 'dancin' as you squeeze by each other in the aisles. Household goods, treats, storage, paper, gifts, crafty stuff. You name it! Educator? Check out this place for great rewards, teacher stuff, kid stuff... Your imagination can take you places you've never dreamed! Staff was helpful enough and fast (it's an Asian market w/ stuff for $1.50). What kind of service do you expect?! Check out the Japanese snacks and drinks. Fun. Cheap. I'm so happy there's finally a Daiso store closer to my house than the SF Japantown one! While the Daiso in San Francisco is much larger than this store and obviously carries a wider variety of products, this new store is a great addition to the greater Sacramento area. Now I no longer have to make a day trip to SF just to get my Daiso fix; instead, I can come here! I've been to this Daiso location about three times so far, and each time the staff has been friendly. All sales are final, but that's not a problem because why would you want to return all your cute, affordable new Japanese goodies?! While there is a $10 minimum charge for credit cards, there is no debit card minimum. Usually when I shop at Daiso I like to get decorative chopsticks, Japanese candy, and pet supplies. My cat absolutely loves her colorful string/ball toy from Daiso, as well as her mousies and balls! They also have pet socks, which are hilariously adorable. And for $1.50, what's really stopping you from getting your cat or dog socks anyways? If this location was as big as the Japantown center, I would definitely give it 5 stars. What a fun place to shop where pretty much everything is $1.50! There are a few things that cost $2 or $3 but 98% of the store is $1.50. Everything you can think of from socks, to housewares to toys and personal items--Daiso has all that and more. I picked up some cute cellophane gift bags in a variety of sizes with cute enclosures. They all came in packs of 25! Wayyy cheaper than a craft store. I also picked up some toys for my cat and a cute pair of fuzzy socks as well as many more cool looking items. The only drawback is the store is so stuffed with items, that the aisles are VERY narrow--making it extremely hard to move around if there is even just two others on the same one as you. Plus, its tucked up on the 2nd floor just down from the food court area, yet when we asked a couple of nearby stores where it was...they couldn't tell us! We finally got lucky and went to the mall website and used their map feature. Staff here was very nice and helpful. We ended up buying some spicy noodles at the mgr's reccomendation, and my husband had some when we got home. He loved them. Well worth the visit if you are up in the area. read more
