I recently found out that there's a Daiso in Sac from seeing a Daiso sign on the freeway lol. Finally checked this place out. With this being said, I was a little bummed that there isn't much variety of items here compared to other stand-alone Daiso stores even though the building is large. I LOVE the lychee soda and shrimp chips they carry. I've gotten some of my favourite knives here. Anything you need for a tiny kitchen is here and it's ridiculously affordable. I try to stop in at least monthly and always find a treat and a trinket to leave with. Today, I found a hedge saw for $1.50! I don't expect it to last forever but it's very sharp and the perfect size to trim my cactus garden with. Service is great and the staff is very friendly as well. read more

Daiso Japan is like a 99 Yen Store. Seriously, the concept is very similar to a 99 cent store except with a strong Asian theme. This review is for their Natomas location. It is in the Target shopping center past Barnes and Noble. Parking can be tight during peak times, but there are usually lots of spaces on the west side. This store has a hodgepodge of items from Japan and other Asian countries. A lot of items are unique to the store and can add some special decor or authentic items to your kitchen. Most are still rather cheap, but it works for the price. They also have a limited supply of food and snacks. Most items seemed to be about $1.50, but this is not universal. Daiso is part of a popular chain and has its built in customer base. I enjoyed the bright and interesting store, but couldn't find much that I needed. I recommend stopping by if you want to try something different. read more

I don't know why I didn't know about this being here in the Sacramento area sooner but as soon as I found out I was over here to check it out. Very excited to find a few of my favorite things (Royal milk tea, toe socks) and know that they have them so I can come here if no one else has them. The store seemed understocked to me since usually Daisos are packed to the ceilings so this was a different kind of experience to have so much space and blank shelf room. Certain departments didn't have as much selection as I'm accustomed to like kitchen and makeup. In any case I was very happy to learn about this being here and it was worth the drive to check it out. read more

I was so excited when I heard our very own Daiso was going to open in Sacramento. Having been to the Seattle and San Francisco stores, and known for its quirky bargains and funky but super cool Asian products, I was eager to get spending! The Sacramento store is set in a large area which also contains Target, Old Navy, BN, and Panera to name a few. Parking is easy, there are plenty of spots right in front of the large store. Unfortunately, My enthusiasm turned to disappointment as I walked through the front doors. It appeared as if the store had either not been stocked, or was half empty. When I say half empty, over 50% of the shelving units were bare. Was there a plan to stock the shelves eventually? Why was it so empty? Too much square footage? Nevertheless I wandered around looking for my bargains, and continued to lament on the lack of selection. Like the American competitor, "The $.99 store", Daiso no longer caps the price at a $1 or $1.50 per item. The store has various items at higher prices, and you need to look close to see the real price. The prices are undeniably cheap, but I rather like the simplistic idea of knowing everything within my reach is one price, even if the quality is low. My experience in the other stores has been wonderful, I have left with bags full of unique items, even if I didn't have a need for everything...that is the charm of these inexpensive places. This store, did not have the selection or anything particularly different from a typical "dollar store". Empty shelf after empty shelf led to the cashier and eventually I bought a packet of miso soup. The cashier could barely muster a "hello". Note: Tiny makeup selection, small shelf of glassware, and only one short aisle of snacks. I left the store feeling a little sad, the empty spaces seemed depressing. read more

Daiso is a lovely store based on Japanese products. They are very clean and organized when it comes to stocking and categorizing their items. The store is pretty large and offers everything from homewares to stationary and kitchen items. I love the variety but the real selling point is on price because you cannot beat the cheap listed retail prices of most everything in the store. I plan to pickup some notepads and a couple trinkets from their toy section next time we visit. read more

Yay! Daiso had finally opened one in Sacramento! Always enjoyed Daiso in the Bay Area, and even though there is a location in Roseville, the Sacramento location is so much BIGGER and better! It's conveniently located next to Barnes & Noble by the Target in Natomas so there is plenty of parking. The store is quite large and Daiso pretty much carries the Japanese version of daily items from cleaning supplies, beauty supplies, snacks to kitchen supplies and more. Everything is priced between $1.50 and up, usually $5 the most I've seen. A lot of cute Japanese items for cheap. Check out was also a breeze. If you haven't been here yet, you are missing out! Yay! Finally a Daiso in Sacramento! It's located on the corner next to Barnes and Nobles, so there's plenty of parking. This location is very spacious. The aisles have enough room for several people to navigate through. Their selection is greater than Roseville's as well. They have just about everything you could need or want: kitchen ware, gardening tools, toys, clothes, makeup, toiletries, decor, pet care, stationary, linens, travel storage, snacks, candy, ramen, drinks, the list goes on and on! Lots of good stuff here, from cute looking solar powered shaking dolphins to panda tshirts. They also sell Japanese snacks. Well I guess they sell a little bit of everything. Their prices range from $1.50 to $8. Most of the store has items priced as $1.50. I was able to buy a cute looking sketchbook and a puppy and dolphin solar thing for my desk. I went there one time before and was disappointed so I went again just to give it another chance. The pricing of there products are not very clear. Some products have a price and most other items you have to decipher from a chart that they hang around the shelves which is not enjoyable to bother with when you want to shop and get in and out. I was there with my daughter they didn't know we were together. We had separate transactions I had a item that was over charged by $1.00. My daughter also had a item that was over charged by $1.00 last time I was here this happened too but, I thought it was a mistake now I'm beginning to wonder if this is something they do regularly on purpose. I'm from southern California so there are a plethora of daisos back there. Needless to say, I had no expectations for this daiso since every daiso is pretty much the same to me. The only differences between the daisos are that some are bigger than others and sometimes some items are in stock and some are not. There is a lot of parking in the lot so that's no problem. Also there's a wing stop near by and other food places if you get hungry after shopping, which is always great! This specific daiso was a spacious medium sized daiso, but much larger than the one in Roseville. If you don't know what daiso is, it's comparable to a Japanese 99 cent store. Except at daiso most everything is $1.50. Here and there you'll see items going for $4-$8. You'll find a bunch of novelty items, cooking supplies, cleaning supplies, silverware, pens, paper, makeup. You'll find pretty much anything you need. Or, like me, you can just walk around in your spare time and find something you didn't know you need! Almost as dangerous as target! The layout of this daiso was pretty organized. Once you walk in to the left was house and cooking supplies and to the right was arts, makeup, office supplies, and snacks! The cashiers were so friendly and welcomed me immediately as I walked through the doors! 4/5 stars because I wasn't blown away, but I am a fan of daiso! I love walking around the aisles when I'm bored or if I'm looking for cute pens or cheap cooking supplies! They have kept me coming back since 2013! read more

I love Daiso and I was pleasantly surprised to see them in Sacramento, very near the Truxel Shopping Center. The grand opening was just a few days ago and the neighboring store, Barnes and Noble is still talking about the long lines that wrapped around the shopping center almost to Target. The store is bright and clean. The staff is friendly and excited for the customers to purchase and enjoy the inexpensive home goods. The store carries the usual home goods of paper products, kitchen items and paper products all at a the discount price of $1.50 each, unless otherwise marked. This is a mid-sized Daiso store with larger stores in Emeryville and South San Francisco. This location carries a nice variety of items all familiar to other locations. This is place to find small, inexpensive Japanese household items. There's are lots of things like small laundry mesh bags for zipping intimate delicates in before tossing into the washing machine. Lots of cute little plastic containers can be found. Salt shakers in odd shapes, rolling pins, and all sorts of bric-a-brac(teapots, small plates, trinkets,etc.) that will probably delight those who like a slightly unusual bend to their cheap accessories. read more

This store is very messy. I was under the impression everything was 1.50 but when I got to the check out I was rang up without any notice that half of my items were $2 $3 and $5! I only noticed after I checked the receipt. The staff were nowhere to be found just someone at the register who was not very friendly. I've come here a few times and it's only getting worse. I love Daiso but I felt as if they missed the mark with this location! First off, the let too many people in when they opened so it got very crowded. Second they were quite disorganized with the products. I couldn't find all their stationary items in one aisle like they usually do. It was scattered about and very confusing. Overall the new location is nice and large. They had lots of products the small Daiso doesn't have, but most of them weren't very new. They have a lot of the same olde items, and I wished they had more of the newer items I saw from the SF locations read more

Was in the general area for something else and thought I have to check out this Daiso too since I don't get to this area much so might as well make the most of the day. This one is way bigger than the galleria mall location. It's very clean, bright, and organized. People were wearing masks here, even the customers- thumbs up to 5 stars for that alone. The cuteness of everything, so great. Found lots of little gift things for Christmas or any occasion. This store is perfect for your friends who are minimalists or tiny house/RV aficionados because much of the inventory is small, they won't instantly give away stuff you get from here. I plan to go back on my own and spend ages in each aisle next time. The selection here is similar to the galleria but you can see there is much more inventory and variety. Stickers, household stuff, kid stuff, and of course wonderfully foreign random things. Next time I might try more of their snacks and drinks, though some of it I can't figure out what flavor anything is, it's pretty cheap there so not much to lose. So jealous of the ppl near this location- a Daiso AND of all things, a bookstore right next door to it. I only wish they would open up more locations or make their online store easier to understand/use because it's kind of a long drive to get to any Daiso where I am. Very cute store but I will not be coming back to this area. There was a black woman in a black shirt (manager I assume) who was yelling at someone who helped his coworker when me and 6 other people were stuck in line. I love this store but I would rather drive to Roseville if this is how the store is managed. It's disgusting how someone decided to yell at their worker on the floor in earshot of customers especially when he was the one that helped a shorter girl who was struggling. I WAS a regular shopper at Daiso in Natomas. I say WAS because I will NEVER shop there again! I made the mistake of trusting an apparently dishonest company. A month ago, I purchased several rolls of first aid compression tape to use to wrap my foot, post-surgery, to help it heal. A few weeks later (after surgery), I opened one of the packages to wrap my foot, only to discover a Godawful, very stinky smell on the bandage fabric. (God knows where this cheap stuff was made, what it was made of, or what chemicals were used??) Of course, I didn't use it. When I took all 5 packages back to the store, showed the cashier and told her to sniff it. She blew me off, told me she had "no authority" to do a refund, that I would have to speak to "the manager". So I returned the next day, asked the same cashier for that so-called manager. She went into a back room and emerged with a very young girl who, I swear to God, looked like a 10 year old little kid (called "Amanda"). I showed "Amanda" the packages, including the one I had opened, that STILL reeked a nasty smell. She could care less. She said no refund. I said, "Okay. Can I at least have a store credit or swap the unopened bandages for something else in the store?"..explaining that I had been to their store many times before. She still didn't care. I then asked for the name, contact # of HER manager, since "Amanda" looked like a cashier just posing as a manager. She handed me a strip of crumpled paper with a handwritten phone number scrawled on it. No name. No address. Nothing. Is this a PROFESSIONAL WAY to run a COMPANY?? OBVIOUSLY NOT!! No matter...because I have DISPUTED these charge on my credit card to get my "refund" you wrongfully denied. DAISO translation obviously means "Big FRAUD". I also found an interesting bit of news about this company: "In June 2017 Daiso was forced by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to recall 165 products in Australia. These included toys which pose a choking hazard or could cause injury and beauty products with unknown ingredients." Like all other Daiso stores I've been too, this place has a wondrous selection of stuff you absolutely do not need. Sure, you find the occasion household item you've been meaning to stock up on, but if you're anything like me, I buy things here on impulse and I don't regret a single purchase. Since most items come to a whopping $1.50, you won't break the bank, yet you'll be surprised on how much everything adds up in the end. LoL. The Natomas location is much better than then Roseville Galleria location, much larger and more space to wander about. Although I will admit they have less here than their San Jose and San Francisco locations, Natomas does up the game for Daiso in the Sacramento region (I maintain that the Japanese locations are worlds better....but then again, you are in Japan). I mean, it's Daiso. I love Daiso. If you love Daiso, you'll love this location too. read more

The inside is bright, the aisles are spacious. Shopping here is comfortable. . Love the categorized sections and each section has something unique or useful for every day use. Like for example you go to the coin pouch section there is lots of different sizes pouches and etc. And organizing your daily essentials in pouches make like much more simple and easy to find in your bags. . Love the cups section with a variety of pattern printed on the cups. Love all the different shapes of cups too. . Another favorite section is the stationary section. Lots of cute stuff. Such as tabs, stickers, sticky notes and whatever your looking for to make better planning or reminders. . Overall its comfy inside with the right temperature to shop. The organization is great. They have lots of products to shop and see and touch. Prices are all 1.50 except for items that are marked with a sticker if its not 1.50. Would i be back to shop? You bet i would and now i dont have to travel so far to the bay to shop at daiso no more. . Some perks of first day shopping is tasting all the unlimited pocky flavors! . For the first 100 in line on saturday morning earns you a goodie bag. . Spend 35 bucks and up gets you something special or a chance to enter for the raffle to win the grand prize from the store. . This place reminds me of the Dollar Tree but everything is so much cuter here. I like to take my kids here when I'm ballin on a budget and have them pick out some things they want. They have all kinds of things here: arts and crafts, kitchen decor, makeup, and gardening tools. My wife and I usually go straight for the snacks and unique gadgets. Okay my fellow yelpers, how's your day going so far? So I came here during lunch hours and this is what I observed about the store called Daiso (Pronounced die-so). Location: This is surrounded by a Wingstop, BJ's Brewery & a Target. Simple to find, as it is a corner store. There's PLENTY of parking all around, so that's not a concern. It's also not difficult to find the store. The name is on the building in big plain lettering. Atmosphere: This place is pretty clean and organized (Although it should be since it is a new place). I got a little confused with finding where everything is, after one quick walk around the store, It got simpler. Also, you know how you open a new pack of Clorox wipes and theres that refreshing smell of safety and cleanliness? Yeah, that's what Daiso smelled like, except not as strong. Just refreshing. The music played overhead (I think it was J-pop) was good. It wasn't too loud or too soft. Just right as if it was that one alarm ringtone you put on your phone that you hear too often that you tune it out for the 1st couple minutes. But anyway, back to the main topic... Merchandise: Okay, so this is the cool part. They have a huge range of items. You want some Shrimp Chips? They got it. How about some shirts for your dog? They got it. Need a new teapot? Yup, they got it! How about some meth? You guessed it! They don't have any! (If you guessed "Yes", you need some help). And a majority of the merchandise here average around $2.50. TWO FIFTY! WHAAAAAA?!?!?!?!? The only things that you MUST know about Daiso is: 1) all sales are final, which shouldn't matter because everything is so cheap anyway. 2) A lot of the merchandise are in Japanese with some English on it. That shouldn't matter much because you can tell what the product is with the simple descriptions, the pictures on the packaging, and by plainly looking at the object. Your not gonna look at the teapot and wonder if it's a product that can charge your tablet.... (but that's a good idea though). Customer Service: The people here are super friendly. I was greeted when I first walked through the door. Then one of the cashiers (I think her name is Neena? Nina? one of those...) said that if I needed help finding anything, to let her know. She also rung me up and was super friendly and caring with putting my items in a bag so as to not break anything or crush something. On the way out, one of the other cashiers was nice to say goodbye and to have a nice day. Overall: Friendly staff. Clean location. Organized nicely. VERY cheap. Loved checking out the new Daiso in Natomas! The selection is smaller than some of the bigger ones but they do have a great mix of various items. If you've never been, you can typically find home, beauty, stationary, and food items at great prices. My only gripe with the place is the sterile look of the whole store lol. I watched employees standing outside until 9:45. 15 minutes before you opened up. Don't lie and say there was a door issue. You were just late! If it was a door issue, come out and let us know.
