A TikTok reco, so expect a short wait -- a takeaway pasta spot is cute in theory but annoying in practice, mostly because there are no benches or too many people walking to stop and eat. Cacio e Pepe was solid, not too heavy. The pasta was perfectly al dente and had a good bite! I'd get one to share.
First time trying this young chain was in St. Pete, FL (where I live!) so I was really excited to try it's original location. It's a tiny shop which makes fresh delicious pasta "to go" only. Many sauce options, meat, veggie, or vegan. Extra add ons (meat/veggie etc). All in all - a yummy and moderately priced option for really good and FAST fresh pasta!!! Their system is just like any well oiled establishment - you order at the register and you get a number. They call you when it's ready. We waited what only felt like 5 minutes (and there was quite a line). And you grab your box and go. Polite and speedy service! We got carbonara and squid ink. Carbonara was creamy and flavorful. Squid ink was good but a bit "slimey" to me. Although my boyfriend said it wasn't slimey, it was just "creamy" and while I can't quite explain the difference, it made it difficult to finish my last few bites. (It's not that it's black pasta bc I've had squid ink before). A note on the claims of dal moros being overhyped: Some people may think the line isn't worth it or the pasta is just as good as some other spots around town and that may be true, but Venice is very late to the "takeaway food" game and where else can you get basically fast food style gourmet pasta? So the establishment itself is iconic in that way. Now bring that instant homemade gourmet Italian pasta to the states and done deal! It's no wonder the line was down the alley when we arrived shortly after they opened.
The pasta is good, but I had a mid experience overall. We entered and placed our order at the front. The cashier happened to see I had some cash in my wallet and automatically forced me to pay cash even though I pay card for everything. They wouldn't take my card and would only take my cash. That's fine but it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth so make sure if you're paying card that they don't see any of your cash. The pasta is pretty good especially for being a fast food style pasta dish placed in a take out box. Carbonara - Very flavorful, delicious taste and for 10 euros worth it. (5/5) Veneziaza - Didn't have as much flavor as the carbonara and didn't come with that much seafood. Taste was good still and pasta was fresh. Not bad (4/5) Overall it's worth stopping by just be sure for them to not see your payment option. Not the friendliest place for tourists and food is pretty good but I also had better pasta in Italy.

This pepe was very cacio. Good portions and probably the most friendly service in all of Venice. It does suck that there's no seating there or nearby much. About 7 minutes away there's a garden you can sit at by the basilica. Service was pretty quick too and it's served scorching hot. 4.6 stars can't say it's perfect but it's up there
Basic pasta at best lol This isn't gonna be gourmet lol It's not at the top of my list of recommendations for where to eat in Venice. But this spot does have the numbers as far as reviews go. It's cheap food, very reasonably priced. It's a fast food pasta place. You pick your noodle type and sauce, and toppings. Build your own pasta! I love the idea. I just think the delivery is lacking because it ends up being very mediocre. Service was good. I liked being able to watch them make the fresh pasta noodles! That was super cool! Ambiance is casual/ laid back/ fast food vibe.
Sooooooooooo good. Surprised by how tasty the pasta was at Dal moros. We tried the spaghetti with bolognese, the penne with pesto, the carbonara and the chicken and cream. All were excellent. My personal favorite was the spaghettis with bolognese. Don't be intimidated by the line because it moves quick. Don't close the lid as well. The staff is friendly and the prices are extremely affordable. The best part was the perfectly cooked Al dente pasta with a great chew. The texture is on point.
Referred by a friend and as always, had to try to twice, lunch and dinner. The location is a little hidden but close to the tourist traffic ways. Even with a wait (ordering line), process is still quick to order and get food. Takeaway only and it's good food but probably equivalent to fast food standards for good pasta.
There are other spots like with Dal Moro's but there is nothing like it. Nearby you can find other pasta spots with the same concept but nothing compares. Dal Moro's only has 8 different options for their pastas but all of them are good. All the pastas run about 8 euros each and you can add toppings for a small additional cost. Each delicious pasta comes out in a paper container nice and hot and ready to be eaten. I came here with one other person and we got their pesto and squid ink pasta. We also got their tiramisu as well. My favorite of the two was the pesto pasta which I added mushroom and mozzarella. It was insanely good, full of flavor, cooked to perfection, and had plenty of sauce. The squid ink pasta was also good. We also added mushroom and mozzarella. We were impressed with how much squid pieces was in it. It was pretty good. The tiramisu was just okay and can be skipped. The shop is really small. Usually there is a long line but on that Sunday we came at 3pm there wasn't a line thankfully. We just waited for one other group before us and we were next. The inside is tiny and maybe fits 8 people. We were able to luckily eat in there though. Our total was about 21 euros for 2 pastas and a tiramisu. Pricing is very affordable and they take credit card. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for something affordable and delicious.
Food (1/5): Straight up some of the worst pasta I've had coming out of a restaurant. We got the meat sauce bolognese with chicken. The best way to describe it is what we overheard another group said: it tastes like microwavable pasta. It's overcooked, the chicken tasted odd like it was microwaved, and the pasta had a weirdly bad texture. Service (4/5): We had no issues with the service. They took our order and food came fast. Ambiance (3/5): No seating inside or room to eat so you have to go and eat it outside. The concept seemed cool because we saw a bunch of people around the canal eating this pasta but surprisingly it turned out to be bad food.

Tucked away in one of the alleys in Venice, this is clearly a popular spot and great for a quick bite. The friendly manager/owner asks everyone where they're from and makes some small talk. I ordered the pesto sauce and my husband ordered the squid ink. The squid ink flavour was OK at best - but I've never had it elsewhere so can't say if it just tasted how it's supposed to. The pasta wasn't mind-blowing, but it tasted fresh, portion was perfect, and was inexpensive (7 eu/each for our selections). read more

A must visit for every tourist coming to Venizia. I have never imagined a fast food Italian restaurant. The owner was very friendly and even gave us a sample to make it easy for us to order. We ended up ordering Pesto and Calamari pastas which are their best pastas. The funny thing is the chef/waitress said "mazaa ayega" (you will love it in Hindi language) when serving our orders. Another funny thing is that the owner gave me a tip on how to avoid paying the ridiculous prices to use toilets in Venezia. Tip: Try Pesto with Chicken sausage and Calamri pastas read more

Omg so flipping good!!! They are a take out only place with a small counter that you can stand and eat at if you want to. The pasta is super fresh and they make it right there. I got the Frutti del Mare. Delicious!!!! The sauce had a lot of flavor and a good amount of seafood in it. The prices are very reasonable for Venice which can be a little pricey. For my pasta it only cost me 7 euro. They give you a lot of food for the price. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are here. It can be a little tough to find in the winding streets of Venice but just look for the long line and you'll find it. read more

Unfortunately, this place, IMO is all hype. My husband got the red sauce and he likened it to Chef Boyardee. I enjoyed the first few bits of my white sauce with chicken but it was so heavy that that is all I could eat. I think the prices are fair and service is great! It's a good place if you've run out of options are are starving! read more
What a fun and creative place! Homemade pasta for takeout, yes please! My boyfriend and I came here for a quick lunch. I had the calamari with handmade spaghetti, squid ink sauce, and I added mushrooms to the mix. He also had the calamari but with fusilli pasta, and he added cheese to his. Both of us were so happy with our meals! Plenty of squid, great pasta, and the portions were generous. And the meals are super cheap, around 7 euro a pop. There were a bunch of people nearby with their Dal Moro's sitting off the grand canal eating, so we joined suit and found a stoop and ate our delicious meals in the sun overlooking the canal. read more

Disappointing Yelp finds. This restaurant has so many reviews @ Yelp so we thought we ought to try it! Went here for lunch and there's a small line out the door. The line moves pretty fast but the problem started to come when we order. They have this tiny paper to write your order and since we ordered 5 pastas, he had to try to fit our order into this tiny 2x2 paper! Of course when the order came, it was all messed up. We ordered 3 pasta with fusili, but all of our ordered came with spaghetti. One of the order were missing the all the toppings requested and another order got double of these toppings. Another order is also missing 1 of the topping. The order with the double toppings was so overwhelming we can barely eat the pasta since it was buried down under. They don't really have space to eat so you need to find a space to eat at one of the squares. The pasta was just okay, the sauce was so thick. The only one I would reccomend is the amatriciana. The tiramisu was also the saving grace! It was the only thing we enjoyed. read more

The food and price was great compare to other eating places in Venice. The cashier who took our order was nice as well, I think he is the owner. However there's one thing I dislike and I think it is not necessary...., since they ask most of their customers where they are from, we answered USA, so when we pick up our order, another guy who gave us our order gave us a "hint", he was like your order is here (on his hand) and he also point to the tip jar next to him and said the tip jar is here, maybe he tried to make it as a joke, but it is not funny. It made us think that because they know we are from the USA and we used to the tipping system and that is what they want obviously, because I didn't see him "joking" with other customers from somewhere else. Well, europe doesn't normally have tips, it makes me feel like they "think" we didn't know, so that was a bit stupid, I didn't like that. I think it just kinda weird. Well, we actually had tips on hand already that was in hand Before the order guy give us "hint" (simply because of the nice cashier), since he mentioned it to my face, I hold back and waited for awhile, until he turned around I threw it in the tip jar. I simply didn't want him to think we tip because of what he said, which was not. Don't think they should expect a tip whenever they see someone from USA, this is not right and spoiled. Also their free wifi is a waste of time, it's not really free, it requires a review to gain access. read more

Before you get to taste the awesomeness of Dal Moro, you must first find it through the infinite maze of Venezia. You would think that's an easy task in this day and age with the convenience of mobile technology. Well, let's just say using Google Map to indicate where you are and where you should be going didn't really help at all when the reception was spotty. I'd spend more time positioning myself like an antenna in the middle of busy streets than actually making any progress to my final destination. So I did what any food-survivor would do -- I went old school and navigated with an actual map. With a few wrong turns, bit of luck, and great deal of determination, we finally found this sucker! We knew we were at the right place because the line was out the door. In a few short minutes, it was our turn and I felt pressured to order something quick as well. The owner kindly and patiently explained the different items on their menu and even offered some plain pasta. (Note to Dal Moro's owner - thanks for the warm welcome and remember, Brooklyn will always be a part of you!) As for the food, it was delightfully fresh and tasty. At about 6€ a pop, Dal Moro's deliver fresh pasta with equally fresh sauces. As a huge sign in their store says, Dal Moro's is not a restaurant, so do not expect seating. It is an artisanal pasta factory. Pasta is served in a take away carton. So here's how it goes: Step 1. Pick pasta Step 2. Pick sauce Step 3. Pick meat or any addition (for an additional fee) Step 4. Pay Step 5. Pick up order when called. Step 6. Eat it! May not be the best a pasta in Venice but for the price and quality, Dal Moro's deserves more than five stars. read more

I saw everyone holding a Chinese to-go box when I was walking down the streets of Venice, and I thought to myself, is everyone eating Fried Rice??? Haha nope! They are the infamous boxed pastas. This is definitely a must-try spot in Venice! It's cheap, fresh, delicious, and fast! You get to pick your own noodles, sauce, and meat. There is no seating so you will have to eat standing up or walking around (but not on the bridges). The meat are processed meat, like spam. But the pasta is homemade. The portion is pretty big so I would suggest sharing with someone and try multiple sauce flavors. read more
As I was wandering around Venice with my wife, I immediately went to Yelp looking for some great local food. We were not let down by our fellow Yelpers when we found Dal Moro's Pasta To Go. This is simply the best pasta you will ever eat in your life, due to how fresh it is. - Friendly staff - English speaking - Fresh, homemade pastas - Variety of options - Best pasta of my life for 6-7€ each I arrived with my wife shortly after they opened and that was the best strategy because after we ordered there was a two block line outside. CAUTION! This place is not the easiest to find, but utilize maps online or in the photo section on Yelp. After walking inside we were greeted and shown that their pasta is so fresh you can eat it raw and crumble it with your fingers. Everyone inside was very friendly, even other tourists. This place is more of an artisanal pasta factory because they help you pick your pasta like the pros, and the flavor is out of this world! If I could figure out how to have it shipped fresh to my doorstep I would. The system here is really very simple, and it should be with how many customers show up with little standing room inside. Choose your sauce (meat or vegetarian, spicy or mild), then your pasta. After you pay for your order you'll likely be called by where you're from (Hey, California!) instead of your ticket number and the whole environment is very friendly. read more
Freshly made pasta! This place isn't too easy to find, I mean finding anything in Venice isn't easy at first, but once you do, you'll notice, there's always a line! Anyhow there's no seating, it's a small order in and take out place! They even come in cute white Chinese food to go boxes. They tell you to eat it right away though, don't close it up and walk around and save it for later! Anyways they have the pasta's to pick from (I picked fusilli), usually only a couple to choose from, and then any sauce you want: They recommend PESTO Pomodoro Mamma Rosa (Pink) Alfredo Bolognese etc. Then any additions like extra cheese, meats, tomatoes, basil, etc. I'm usually not a huge fan of pesto, but this was like a creamy pesto, and not one that was overwhelming, it was amazing, some of the best pasta i've had in Italy actually. I didn't want to overwhelm myself with extras so I just got tomatoes, which was a great idea, it was amazing. I tried the Mamma Rosa sauce my cousin got and it was good but with extra cheese it was a little too heavy for me. I would advise not ordering extra cheese because they already put it on unless you like eating almost clumps of it. When they say extra they mean extra! Also tried my cousin's pesto with the meat he got, everything you add or don't add will change the flavor, just so you're warned! If I ever come back to Venice this will be my first stop!!! This is an interesting, creative and high energy non traditional fast food italian pasta place. The pasta is made fresh, the dish is cooked to order and it comes out in 5 mins. There's no seat but you can slurp the entire bowl (actually box) of pasta in minutes. Get the squid source if you like seafood, it is surprisingly good for a cheap and I'd say better than the €19 dish I got in other restaurants in Venice. There's not much value and authentic food in the island and the irony is this fast-food custom made pasta actually tastes better than other the other regular around. I guest they are not paying the expensive waiters, the space or other fancy stuffs ... just pure for taste. I like it. As a bonus, the young guys are friendly and funny. He asks everyone "where you from?" responded with a few comments. Stand there and listen to him, he's young and just wants to learn the world. I doubt that he's been anywhere far. When people answer him, anywhere except California, he would further asks "where California? SF, LA, San Diego, ...?" I guess California is what they see the most on the screens. read more

By far the best and most fresh pasta I have had in my two weeks trip (Rome,Florence,Venice,Milan) And we had a lot of pasta while in Italy. The pasta is freshly made in house. The staff is very friendly and remembered us when we came back the second day (Yes it was that good we went two days in a row) If you are in Venice it's a must go to place..! read more

Dal Moro's was a really fun and delicious experience! Before our trip to Venice, several people suggested visiting Dal Moro's for "delectable but cheap pasta." It certainly was both of those things! We visited twice and enjoyed our food both times, though the second time our pasta was a little undercooked. The pesto was really great! I would consider Dal Moro's to be very affordable and good portions. The employees even remembered us and thanked us for coming again, which only made me want to return more! This place is pretty good. They definitely give you the best bang for your euros in Venice and the portion is large enough to keep you going for the rest of the evening, if you are like me and the Boy, who ended up having a super early dinner. The thing about this place is that it is hidden and there isn't a sign shouting they are there. It is pretty much a standing take-out counter that allows for maybe 6 people comfortably - you aren't allow to sit on the bridge or steps because it blocks traffic. It's well worth the treasure hunt to locate this pasta place, as it is quite filling and you don't have to pay a cover charge, or any of the other tourist charges that Venice can and will charge you for the privileged of dining out in Venice. Even though this place is cramped and there isn't much of a romantic atmosphere, I do recommend grabbing a space along the counters and chowing down on your fresh pasta here, mostly because the staff and owner are extremely friendly and are willing to engage you in conversation. I guess, because so many internationals stop by here, you see a good portion of the staff speak a little polyglot of languages, which is pretty cool. I tried my hand at speaking a little bit of elementary school Italian, and they were quite encouraging and complimentary about it. They are typically closed on sundays, but one day we walked by and it was a Sunday and they were open - turns out if there is enough of a requests, they may consider opening on the Sunday, so I would say stop by and have a gander to see if they are open, other wise typically they are closed. Yes, eat the fresh pasta shell they offer you, so you see how fresh it is - no it won't kill you. Let them choose the pasta too, their sauce is very solid. Their classic marinara sauce has quite a heated kick to it; their pesto was good; while their mama rosa was a robust combination of tomato sauce with the heaviness of fresh cream whisked together. I would say, if you are just ordering with just sauce and pasta with no drinks or add ons - it would cost you about 7 euro, the add ons, like bacon will cost about an additional euro or two, so expect to spend about 10 to 11 euro per person after drinks and add ons, but it's worth it. read more
Used to be called Alfredo's, now it's Dal Moro's. I can't give this place enough praise. After traveling through Venice, Rome, and Italy this place was hands down the best food I had. Now granted I didn't go to any Michelin restaurants in Italy, I did try my fair share of food including favorites of Anthony Bourdain. Taste: The most important factor in gastronomy is taste. The pasta here is both fresh and delicious. They don't make it till you order it, and you are encouraged to eat it right away. I got the Alfredo sauce with Penne and some meat and vegetable toppings and was stopped dead in my tracks after the first bite. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the flavor was incredible. You have to eat this fresh, every minute I waited the pasta was not as good as the minute before. Price: Venice may not be cheap, but this pasta sure is!!! Price-per-dollar I think this place may be unbeatable. Speed: You can go from ordering to enjoying your food in less than 2 minutes! Service: The workers here are very funny. Not only that, they're all multi-lingual. The cashier asked me where I was from, I said America. He said no, where are your parents from, I said Korea. As soon as I said that the 3 people working there started conversing with me in Korean... and as shameful as it might be.. I think their accent was better than mine :( Overall: It may not be fancy but the food is great and the workers are too! A 5/5 and a must-stop in Venice for everyone. read more
(March 2015 Review). An absolute hidden gem in Venice! It was so good, I stopped two nights in a row for their wonderful pasta. Had both the creamy pasta and tomato based and both were absolutely superb! Sort of tough to find since the local restaurants require Dal Moro's to not advertise the joint. Two tips, make sure to eat the pasta right away and do not eat it on any nearby steps due to local fines that can tag along with it. read more
Super quick and cheap ! We had to get quick bites for the kids before our date night and these are perfect as they are packaged in the Chinese Oyster boxes. They advised us that they must be eaten within the hour. Counter service was so friendly and I love it when the employees are engaged and ask where you are from. We were handed a number and our order was ready in less than 5 minutes. People arrive there like they just hit a stop on the Amazing race. They look happy to find this tucked away place, they are outta breath, and they have their travel backpacks. It's the young traveler spot for sure. Some quick tips: 1. Marinara sauce can be medium or really spicy if you want them to kick it up a notch. 2. There are gondolas down the alley and the ride starts in the shade. 3. Hot pasta is best eaten within the hour. 3. 3 boxes are 17 €. 4. They will hook you up with napkins and forks. 5. It's great for groups as long as you walk to a cool place to eat because that corner alley is tight. 6. You know your getting close because you will see people eating from the boxes. read more

The best customer service I've ever experienced especially being in a foreign country. Gabrielle, the owner, definitely creates a wonderful experience. He's charming and makes conversation with each of his customers. He also gives you directions to where-ever you need to head after leaving the small joint. On to the food, you pick a number which is the sauce that you want (I had the number #2 which is some type of pork sauce and my bf had the #7 Viagra sauce lol) then you pick the pasta type. For the pasta type I just asked Gabrielle for his opinion so we ended up getting the fettuccine with the #2 and rooster with #7. Sit for just about 5 mins and bam your pasta is piping hot in a Chinese to go container. YUM YUM! in a place where you can get ripped off for horrible food.. This place is the best in town for the best price and best quality. What's even better is the owner even tells you before the food comes out.. Is this is how 'they' make it.. And if it's not to your taste give it back and they will make it to your liking! It is a must go to! The sauce was different from what I've tasted in Rome and Florence but O so good. The #2 had cubes of pork with a little spice and tomato sauce. I tasted my bfs #7 and it was amazing as well. It was also tomato based but a little lighter than mine. I only spent two days in Venice and I ate here twice. It's that good. And super worth the price. Most pasta are around 5 or 6 euros. My favorite have to be the spicy marina, extra spicy plus the chicken sausage (it's like cut up hot dogs). Between me and my family we pretty much tried most of the pasta flavors. The pesto was also pretty good. Bolognese was normal, nothing too outstanding. My dad really enjoyed the mama rosa which is like a creamy tomato sauce. My brother liked the four cheese, it's close to the Alfredo sauce but with more cheese. It gets a bit too much in the end. All pasta comes very saucy and eating it fresh is definitely better than taking it home. There isn't much space to eat inside, but you will find many tourists eating it outside or down by the canal a block away. Definitely a must stop in Venice!! read more

Found this gem today after reading reviews on yelp! It was tucked in at the end of an alley way. As you walk in, the place is very small and the staff is right there behind the counter greeting you. They were very friendly and ask every customer where they are traveling from. That always makes a tourist feel welcomed. The pasta was very delicious and you can pick and choose from many extras. My wife and I had the pesto, chicken Alfredo, and napolitana. All three we delicious! It wasn't busy at the time we went (7pm on a Saturday night in May). We got our food literally as we were finishing paying our bill which by the way was very affordable. There were many places on the way that have a similar concept, but we decided to stick with the original one and it was totally worth it! I highly recommend this place when visiting Venice! read more
