Awesome little Vietnamese bakery that also has bánh mì sandwiches. I was skeptical when I first walked in the door and saw that the sandwiches are pre made and in a cooler. But after my first trip here, the fact that i can walk in, get a sandwich and walk out in a minute or so makes it worth it. Not to mention it's only $3.50. What a deal! The 4 in 1 is their main offering for a bánh mì, it includes 4 types of meat (I'll edit this next time I'm there as I can't remember what they are right now) and seasoned mayo. The veggies are separated in a bag so you can add them as you like. I always came in and just got a sandwich to go, no toasting it. Big mistake, I had my first one toasted the other day and wow did it make it that much better! You can dine in or get it to go, there is a small area with tables setup to the right after you walk in. If you go in and no one is there just be patient, I'm pretty sure it's just a husband and wife that work here and one of them will come out to help you. They have a lot of other offerings like cookies, macaroons, teas, drinks, breads and pastries. This was my first time here and I asked my sister why she was holding out on me, LOL! This place has Hot Dog buns!!!! Last time I had one of those was at the Oriental grocery store in Orlando! They also had other nice looking pastries and cakes. I ate a mocha cake that was very good. I will be back for sure! The guy who served us was very friendly. Tip: Bring cash. If you're looking for a boba place then this is it. When I came there weren't as many things to display. They had a lot of sweet looking sweets and cake, of which I'll be getting next time. The boba was really good~ it was chewy and nice. I got the strawberry flavor and my brother got the mango flavored one. It was his first time and now he keeps saying boba. If you want a place to go to for boba since there aren't a lot in Louisville, this is the place to go. It's also only $3.50 and I thought it would be $5 but it's not so that was a pleasant surprise. One of the slices of cake was $2.50 and it was really good. The place was kind of empty and there was only one guy there which made me kind of sad but other than that since I haven't tried everything I can't give this place five stars but I know this place is promising. I do get a little disappointed when they're all out of boba since there isn't another place that has good smoothie boba like de lat. (I lied VK has boba as well) The interior design would be a bit better if they take down the Christmas tree and move around some of their furniture. I used to love this place, but it seems to be going downhill a little. The milk tea still tastes good, but my cup was PACKED with ice...also, were the cups always that tiny? I had what seemed like the smallest cup of milk tea ever today from this place. There was so much ice in it that I couldn't even get to my boba. I also bought a little pack of chocolate chip cookies, which was only $1...however, when I was finally ready to eat them, they were crumbly and slightly stale :(. I'm a little disappointed about today's visit. I used to boast that they had the best bubble tea in Louisville, but now I'm not so sure. The owners are friendly and the pastries are semi decent (good cakes and savory buns), but ugh! Not very pleased with today's visit. And $8 for a package of macarons? We love DaLat and have been going there for years. You can sit down and eat there but despite what the name implies, it's really not a cafe but more of a bakery with limited seating. If anyone knows a place in Louisville that has better Bahn Mi sandwiches and Bubble tea than DaLat, drop me a note because I haven't found one yet. They only have one kind of Bahn Mi sandwich (sorry, no vegetarian option available) but it is the best! Bahn Mi sandwiches are these bread rolls that resemble small French baguettes but are lighter, crispier and airier, their filling consists of paté, cold cuts, cucumber slices, carrot pickles, jalapeño slivers and cilantro. It's a great combination of textures and flavors, salty, spicy, herby, and savory. It's my favorite sandwich ever! My wife and kids also love their bubble tea (taro flavor in particular). I also like their Thai iced tea and Vietnamese iced coffee. In addition, they also have tasty bacon and green onion buns, and a wide range of cookies, pastries, Vietnamese deserts and cakes (decorated cakes can be ordered for special occasions). This is a mom and pop shop, it's just the elderly owners taking care of everything and I haven't seen any young blood around. Call ahead to make sure they will be open before you go, especially on weekdays. If the owners need to attend to personal matters, the shop might be closed for a bit. The area is not so great (but not terrible either) and expect a little bit of a language barriere, but it is soo worth it. Bahn Mi sandwiches keep well in the refrigerator, call ahead if you want more than a few. They taste almost as good reheated in the oven at home. I hope they stay in business for a lot longer! As a coffee shop this place is a disaster. I walked in, and the place was completely empty. There was a board overhead, but the only coffee drinks displayed were frappes. Not the worst thing in the world, but that's also very limited. I might have asked more questions, but the lady behind the counter was clearly a middle-aged Vietnamese women, who could barely understand English as it was. I made my order as plainly as I could, and then I waited probably ten minutes for my frappe. That seemed long, since the places had no other customers in it. The price, $3.50 wasn't bad for a frappe. But the location is a nightmare. Call it Southwest Louisville? I have family in the area, and I've never never been to this region before, and I really see no reason to go back. If you're in the area, anyway. Like maybe you work in the industrial park, then maybe check it out, as the baked goods looked decent, and they have smoothies, but do not go out of your way to try to get coffee here. And as others said, bring cash, as the $20 minimum to run a credit/debit card is an outrage. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places to go for sweets and bubble teas. While I still love their teas, I was bummed to drive all the way to that side of town to find they were out of boba. They did have jelly, but it's just not the same in an avocado milkshake. While I wouldn't fault them a one-time issue, I have found they often run out of flavors or ingredients. It's such a shame, because they have some of the best teas otherwise. They've also greatly cut down on their offerings and changed their cake menu. The cake itself is way too sweet now. I would liken it more to an American cake than a Vietnamese one. I miss the mocha buttercreams I would find in Annandale and DaLat's is no longer a good substitute. Their onion-bacon buns are still a wonderful savory snack, but their bahn mi need more vegetables and "wet" ingredients. Overall, I will definitely return for bacon buns and bobas, but I won't walk in to "stock up" on whatever new things I find anymore. read more

I got their avocado smoothie which was great! My boyfriend had their honeydew milk tea with boba which he said the boba was not as chewy as he liked it. I also got their banh mi which different porks for 3.50 and some other bakery items. All were good. read more

I enjoy the Bubble Tea (Tapioca milk tea & smoothie like drinks) When they are all out of Boba (Tapiocas), I order the avocado smoothie. It is made with sweetened condensed milk & so yummy. I haven't had the chance to try any of the foods they offer, but the people are always very nice & I enjoy going back. :) They accept credit/debit cards, but not for small amounts. This bakery isn't in the best location. Although it's probably the only Asian bakery in town, the products are very good! Their Vietnamese iced coffee is delicious! I think almost every customer I saw entering this establishment walked out with a Vietnamese coffee or bubble tea for the kids. Their pastries are pretty good. We liked their pineapple buns and cheese cake bun (I can't remember with it said on the label). Their cakes are delicious. Not too sweet and the cake is nice and fluffy. 4 stars for the banh mi, but 3 1/2 for the pastries. The pre-made Vietnamese hoagies are nicely wrapped. I had my doubts, but the way their packaged makes them really easy to heat up--just stick them in the toaster oven for 3-5 minutes to get the bread nice and toasty/crisp ... Then put the separately packed vegetables on top. Yum. The pickled veggies were tangier (which was my main complaint for Pho Binh Minh). I absolutely love DaLat. Aside from the fact that everything here is delicious, you truly can't beat the price. I come here mainly for the sweets and pastries because they're mouthwateringly good. DaLat's baking style is rooted in a French-Vietnamese flare, which sets DaLat apart from most bakeries. I'm not big on frosting, UNLESS it's been made by DaLat. It's not sweet like typical frosting, but is instead rich and creamy. The cake itself is moist and spongy, and the buttercream frosting compliments the cake so well. My favorites are the mocha cake (think tiramisu) and the coconut taro cake. I actually had DaLat make my wedding cake, and it was a HIT. I highly recommend DaLat for weddings, dessert, or just an afternoon pick-me-up! read more

First off the workers at De lats were very friendly. I will say I honestly did not know everything on the menu, but the stuff I did know personally stemmed reasonably priced. (.50 for a pastry). Me and my gf got the honeydew smoothie and honeydew tea both with boba. The flavor for both of them was definitely 5* but neither of us were really feeling up to the boba that seemed to appear every sip or two. While the boba doesn't have much of a flavor, the texture is something that you will either love or hate. That being said, I would definitely go again and order without the boba and see if I can up this place to a for sure 5*. read more

I have been coming to this vietnamese bakery since I moved to Louisville. They offer bahn mi (vietnamese sandwich) for $3.50, iced coffee/smoothies/boba milk tea for $3-3.50, and other baked goods like scallion bread and hot dog bun for $1.75. They have some cakes and other yummy desserts there too. I haven't tried them, but my husband said they're pretty good. I live in St. Matthew and I try to make the drive out here once a month to get the bahn mi because they are cheap and so delicious. They're super easy to heat up at home in the mini oven toaster. I like to eat it with sriracha. It makes the sandwich taste SOOO GOOD. Anyways. There is no one like this in Louisville, so it sucks that I have to drive across town to get this stuff, but it is so worth it. They recently started closing on Monday-Wednesdays so make sure to come Thursday-Sunday. When you come on the weekend, there are a ton of people, so try to come early if you want to get some bahn mis. read more
