I never write reviews but this was by far the worst and unnecessary pro audio experience ever. I purchased a Hedd Type 20 monitor on Amazon from Dale Pro Audio, but I received an SM58 microphone instead. I called Dale pro audio, and was transferred to Tim Brown the owner. He told me that my order was cancelled and I received the microphone by accident. My order wasn't actually canceled, and a microphone was sent so I could cancel it (maybe they weren't in good standing with amazon?). So I thought okay no problem, tough times, resend me the speaker. Tim, for whatever reason didn't want to sell the speaker on amazon and used my order to do so. He asked that I pay him through PayPal. I ended up having to pay through PayPal again, while my first order refund still hasn't posted to my bank account as I'm writing this review because he refused to re-list it on amazon prime, where I have already bought the item. I'm out 3,000$ for one b-stock speaker, not a pair, and Tim is adamant that the speaker orientation is a left, so I purchased a RIGHT from alto music (Bobby montemuro). Right speaker arrives from alto. After all that, a right speaker also arrives from Dale Pro Audio, which is what I purchased initially. I could have just ordered a left from Bobby. After the back and forth, no apologies, or show of solidarity. He sends me a return label. I'm writing this review because I strongly believe it's not worth it especially if you're a serious musician. Low priced items okay, but I could not trust this company with anything expensive, not because I received a wrong item but because of the culture that exists within this company. If I'm met with such dishonesty and disregard from the owner, imagine what it's like on a regular basis. No positive review here will show they won't take advantage at your expense, and I think that's the most important take-away. Picture attached read more

Pretty funny experience today. I went there to just pick up some replacement parts for a pair of cans. I went to the parts department where Milton was helping another customer. I waited my turn and then when the other guy left I stepped up. So, Milton sits himself down in front of the computer and starts reading the news on the PBS site's Newshour section. Next he executes a massive yawn and browses some more. I was standing right behind the other guy so there's no way that he didn't see me. MIlton checks his mail and then burps. Next he gets a call which he picks up, speaks with the caller, and then hangs up. I'm still leaning there about 5' from him at the counter. Another call comes in and he takes that. I countered by calling the place on my phone. The guy at the front desk answered and said that I'd have to wait for Milton because he's on a long call and he's the only one there that can sell me a pair of replacement foam pads for a 7506. At that point I walk around and he can see it's me that's calling. I told him that I'd been standing there while Milton did the things I previously mentioned and that I watched him pick up the call. He said someone else would help me but I decided to slip out ninja-style. The entertainment value was definitely worth the visit. Maybe I'll call tomorrow and make an appointment before Milton eats his lunch. Perhaps less yawning and belching. After all this place is 2 blocks from my office and each pad is $2 less than Amazon. read more

There's no where else in the city that I know of where I can check out such an awesome array of mics, monitors and processors in total soundproof privacy. They guys really know what they're talking about, as far as what goes well with what, price points, features, etc... They have tons of connectors in stock, so I can make my own cables. If you have any problems, they're usually really helpful in fixing them for you. If they don't have what you need, there's usually something comparable, or they can order it. They are official dealers for tons of great manufacturers. Also, they have the Tron arcade game! How cool is that? And if you come by, check out City Bakery on 18th St, just a couple doors down, for the best chocolate chip cookie on the planet. No doubt. read more

I love Dale. They have been supplying Equipment reliably for many years. They always have competitive prices and so much inventory they can always get you what's needed or find it for you. Not meant for the low-quantity buyer. Apparently, the $600 specialty microphone I ordered didn't make me a fat enough cat to get some common courtesy. Secretary was in a snarky mood while I asked for directions (sorry that I don't have a GPS imbedded in my brain) and my sales guy actually escorted me to the stock room and just left me there for 20 minutes - I never saw him again. One of the guys in receiving took the initiative and actually got my order for me. Sales mgr called back after reading my customer survey, and politely apologized. So... we'll see, maybe I'll go back or not. In the world of internet sales, why bother, though? I know the model numbers that I want, so why deal with 'live people' if it's such a hassle? read more

This Business sucks, customer service is the shits, ordered a cable UPS over nite., it's been 10 days and still, no package. They said they were going to ship out another package because the last one got lost at UPS ,Still no package, and no new tracking #.. I'm quite surprised to see all the negative reviews on here. I went last night at 5:20. I know, I know, jerk move since they close at 5:30 but it's the only time I could get there bc I work during the day. Milton helped me and he was a doll! I needed to get a wireless mic system as I am a fitness instructor and he was extremely helpful although admitted he wasn't an expert on mics. (I appreciate honesty!) Had nothing but great service on Friday. I chatted online with Shannon, who was helpful, and then trekked out to their brand new warehouse in Jamaica, Queens the next morning to demo some speakers. Despite not being set up for anything yet (literally, they were still unpacking their furniture), Eric grabbed the speakers, set them up, and got the mixer and cables I needed too. Dale Pro Audio has been really great for me! I am fresh out of school and didn't know much about hardware when it came to post production audio equipment. David Prentice sat on the phone with me for 2 hours explaining things to me and giving me a ton of options and advice. Every order we have made has been shipped out incorrectly which has thrown deadlines off on our projects. I am not exaggerating we have had 3 separate orders for amps and all 3 times they ship the wrong ones then we have to wait for the correct ones. Then we just ordered some replacement parts for amps and out of the 4 parts only 3 were correct when we called to get the other one reshipped they say sure no problem, then of course no part comes. I call to find out why and again "oh we are so sorry, we thought we had them in stock but we had to order them", they knew I was on a deadline for this part and did they call to let me know that it was not going out overnight? No! I had to call and chase them down, then they never return a message. You have to call and call hoping to catch the person you ordered with because no one else there can help you. Absolutely the worst customer service I have encountered. Shop around there are plenty of other audio places out there who appreciate your business. read more
