I can't recommend Dale's enough. The work they do is excellent and their prices are fair. They've been taking care of my RV and my car for me. I recently had to have my driver's side window in the car replaced because someone had broken in, and the glass they received was scratched. They installed it so I wouldn't have to drive around without a window (during rainy weather) while we waited for the good one, then installed the new one without charging me for additional labor. Dale was the only business who answered his phone 4:30 PM on a Friday. I had called about eight or nine places before him, not knowing the area. I had broke down unexpectedly. Understandably, it was too late in the day for him to help me. But he said he would be happy to help me first thing on a Saturday morning. Which is kind of unheard of for a mechanic. After diagnosing my problem he said if I could wait till Monday, his rates would be cheaper. We agreed to wait until Monday. (I was in Sunriver until Monday anyway.) The final Judgment has been made and what a mistake it was. I'm going to make this black and white as Dale will be writing a novel trying to explain how he is perfect and does no wrong. Yes, we were stranded in Oregon on a road trip with a trailer and F-250 truck. Def was mistakenly put into the fuel tank vs the Def reservoir and had to flush the whole fuel system and mis parts had to be replaced. We were in a pinch because we needed to get home ASAP and the nearest Ford dealer was 2 weeks to get to the repair and Dale was able to do it sooner. Truck was towed to his shop and the repair was started. Parts were order and was a waiting game from there. We waited about a week for the job to be completed and was in contact with him for us to approve additional cost and updates. Fast forward a week the truck was picked up and everything seemed to be fine. We then picked up the trailer and started the trip back to CA. We were about 2 hours outside of Oregon and the truck started to smell like gas in the cab and didn't think to much of it as Dale started the truck would have the residual smell of fuel due to the repair. Not thinking there was anything wrong we continued to drive and about 6-7 hours into the drive it got really bad and had to pull over. At that point we called Dale to ask what it might be and said "We did everything per the Ford Manual"and everything was tighten to spec and installed correctly. After waiting 20-30 minutes we continued the drive to a near by hotel. Next day we got on the road and still had a smell but still thought it was the residual fuel from the repair. Made it home and checked out everything under the hood to see if anything looked odd and the fuel rail looked wet and one of the fuel lines under the truck as well. Dale was called after this was found and he said "We tighten everything to Ford spec again" I under stand that Ford says something but that doesn't mean it was actually done. "PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES BUT NOT DALE ONCE AGAIN" Than proceeded to say to tighten the rail where it's leaking. I'm 80 years old and not a mechanic. The engine compartment was cleaned to confirm the fuel was coming from that area but once it was cleaned and truck was restarted it didn't appear to be coming from that area. At that point we (myself and wife) didn't see anything else leaking. The following weekend we went on another road trip as most retired people do and 100 miles from home the truck broke down. When I say broke down that means truck had to be towed to a Ford dealer. Truck was towed to the dealer on a Friday before New Years and would have to sit until Tuesday due to the holiday. Yes, we were 100 miles from home and had to get someone to pick us up and drive us home. On late Wednesday the dealer called and said it was a fuel rail issue. The dealer didn't know the fuel rail was touched/altered/replaced from Dales Mobile before there findings. The replacement part was ordered and two days later the truck was fixed. After we knew what they replaced we notified Dale and his "Default answer was its a DEFECTIVE PART" He had no idea what really happen but had to blame someone else other them Dales Mobile. I have done some extensive research on the fuel rail part number and would invite Dale to show me the failure rate on a precision machined part that has to do with a fuel system. No this is not a fuel injector that has a pretty standard failure rate or a rubber hose. At the end of the day we told Dale our issues after the fact and he is stuck on he did everything perfect and was a defective OEM fuel rail. The novel from Dale will be coming 1-3 days after this is posted so grab your blanket and cup of coffee. Hopefully this helps new and old customers to think about who they are trusting with their truck. This type of business practice would not fly in California. Fair, thorough and knowledgeable are the ways I'd describe Dale's. I was a factory rep and was pretty well grounded in the workings of automobiles. Mine had a starting problem and I was pretty sure what the problem was. Took it to Dale and we discussed it. He didn't try to snow me, just wanted to check it out thoroughly and not just do as I suggested. He did so and it turned out to be something entirely different than what I had guessed. Last week we were traveling south on highway 97 in our truck and 5th wheel trailer. We were heading home to northern Nevada after visiting our son in British Columbia. Ten miles north of Redmond we suddenly had radiator coolant all over our windshield. We pulled off the side of the highway and searched for a mechanic. We found Dale through a Google search. We were very stressed, and Dale said he would see us on an emergency basis if we could get the truck and trailer towed to his shop. After spending a nerve-wracking 24 hours on the side of the highway, we were able to get towed to Dale's shop on a Friday afternoon. Dale made sure we had power to our 5th wheel so we could be comfortable while he diagnosed the problem. When they say anytime, anywhere... they mean it. My family and I were visiting the Redmond/Bend area from Seattle over the Independence Day holiday weekend and needed a new alternator in our Honda. Disclosure: This review is not regarding his work, as no work was performed on my vehicle. My car has been making a strange chirp for months, getting louder and occurring more frequently. My husband, who works as a diesel mechanic (my car is not a diesel), did some research and felt the noise was stemming from the clutch and throwout bearing. Neither have been replaced the life of the car. Turns out there is a recall on Toyota's website as this is a known problem with the throwout bearing, though unfortunately my car is outside the warranty window. We spent some time looking for someone to confirm diagnosis and do the repair. We called Dale's business on a Friday, wondering if we could bring the car to him for diagnosis. We were planning to be out of town the entire next week and were hoping diagnosis and repair could be done during this time. We didn't have an appointment and were very flexible because we knew we were calling last minute. We had an appointment with Redmond Tire and Auto services but noticed Dale had better reviews on Yelp and thought we would check with him. Plus my husband works with another man as a stand alone diesel mechanic business and I liked the idea of giving our service and money to a similar setup. Dale seemed happy to take the vehicle in and reported he would call us with a diagnosis sometime soon. It sounded like we would hear by that day (Friday) but we did not. That was completely understandable, we were just happy to find someone with good yelp reviews who could work on the vehicle. We left on our trip and did not from him at all. Finally the following Wednesday I called him, he told me they were taking the car in to the shop right then to look at it and he would call me back. No call again, so on Thursday we called again. At this point we were on our way home and disappointed no work had been done on the car though it had been there for one week. He reported to us they just got back from taking the car for a drive and couldn't hear the noise we heard. They had not done any further investigation in to the problem. In fact, we were told probably the noise was from the tires (which are new). Now, I proclaim to know nothing about car mechanics and even I know that a chirping noise heard under the hood, only when the clutch is engaged, whether the car is moving or not, has nothing to do with brand new tires (by the way all this information was relayed to Dale by my husband when the car was dropped off). At the end of the conversation he charged us a $110 diagnosis fee...even mentioned "I'm trying to save you money here"...which is laughable as we paid $110 essentially to park our car there for a week. Even the airport would have been cheaper parking then that! All in all this was a disappointing and costly interaction, with very poor communication and obviously little attention paid to what we were saying, in terms of concerns with the clutch and throwout bearing. He did mention we could bring the car back to them when it was making the noise so they could hear it, but we have decided that we will not take our business there and are back at square one trying to find someone to do the work. Side note, the chirping was heard immediately upon picking the car up (after hours), and has continued steadfast since that time. My husband works in the mechanic industry, we know what are reasonable and unreasonable expectations within the industry. This was poor customer service and I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

I wish i could give him a zero. Please dont waste your time by going to him. We asked for a simple diagnostics on our Van. He said 95$. Super high but we okayed it. Then when he said it would be 2400 to fix we told him no thanks. Now hes saying he put extra work into it that we did not authorize. He will not give us our van until we pay 300 and he didnt even fix it. Its extortion or robbery or both. He said we could sign over our title and call it even. I will not do that. I live 4 hours from him but when i get home im calling the police and the better business bureau. This should be illegal!!! read more

I've had two positive experiences with Dale so far. The first time I needed an emergency radiator repair and Dale ft me in the very next day. Then a few months later my girlfriend needed her radiator replaced and he replaced it for her the same day. Dale sources quality parts at wholesale prices and doesn't make much on the parts like some shops do. He also charges a reasonable $65/hr. rate and is accurate with his estimates. I was traveling in my motorhome and broke down in Bend. I called Dale, who was supposed to be going on vacation, but he came out of his way to help. He was totally knowledgeable about my vehicle and did everything he could to help us! We needed a part that had to be purchased from the dealership and unfortunately it was a Friday night. We had to be towed to hotel nearby and spend the night and buy the part the following day. He told me that if the dealer couldn't get us in to do the work over the weekend or the part had to be ordered, I could have my vehicle towed to his shop and he would fix it when he came back. The dealer couldn't get the part in for four days!!! Dale offered to let me store my RV at his shop for free. I stayed in Bend and when the part came in his shop had me back on the road in no time! My car failed with the alternator and battery. Fortunately, I have towing insurance, and had my car delivered to Dale's shop. Of course it was before the weekend, but I made plans to cover that. Dale had my car totally repaired and dependable within 2 days. His shop is Very well organized, and the Staff are Very professional and polite. Dale's business is a well-oiled machine. I trust His expertise, the excellent and thorough work that He guarantees, and the moral fiber of Dale and his Staff. This is the second time that I have used the services of Dale and His Shop. I consider Him to be my primary mechanic, and don't want anyone else to work on my car in a diagnostic way. Speedy Lube is one thing... but other than tires and fluids... it's Dale. Also, Dale provided video and photos of the work, so I had it for my records and He has that as well for future reference. I had just dropped off a donation at a local thrift shop and my truck would not start. I didn't have AAA or anything and thought I was going to be trouble. I found Dale in the Directory and called him. I was maybe a couple of miles away from him and he came right over. It was the starter. He had a part delivered and replaced it in about 1/2 an hour and I was on my way. Can't get any faster better service than that. Additionally, he has done work on my Motorhome and so far it has worked out well. It was making a real bad noise and I took it to a local mechanic (rated the best in town) and they listened and told me it was an RV issue. I didn't think so but I went to the RV place as well and they said it was a mechanical problem. I drove it to Dale's and he immediately pin pointed it as an exhaust problem and fixed it a few days later. No one else seemed to know what it was but Dale fixed it and it no longer makes the noise. Yeah. In summary, I would suggest you give him a call before you take your car anywhere else. He seems to really know what he is doing and isn't out to "fix" a lot of things that don't need to be fixed either. read more

I made an appointment for 8AM on June 7. Arrived at 7:57 and Seth immediately dropped what he was doing, began the paperwork and put the Ford F-250 6.0 Diesel on the rack for an oil change, filter replacement and lube and inspection.
