This family owned and operated shop is da bomb! When I foolishly backed my newly restored vintage…read moreride out of the garage after sitting for a few years (and neglected to check the brake-fluid level), one fender had an unfortunate meeting with a carport post. A few days later - after flushing the air out of the brake system - I took the car down to Pearson to get an estimate. Mike whipped up a quick estimate to give me an idea of how much it would cost to fix, as I was trying to decide if I should just pay for it myself or go to insurance. Well, as expected, it was a bit more than I could afford, but cheaper than other another place in town, so I called up my insurance, returned to Pearson to get a full estimate, and Mike emailed me the full estimate and his photographs. I forwarded these materials to my insurnace company and within a day got the go-ahead to have the car fixed. Slick! They got the car on a Monday, hammered the fender straight, then repainted and clear-coated by Friday so I could bring the car to its first car show (Rev It Up! in Lawrence) on Saturday. Brought it back in on Monday so they could do the final buffing. What's even nicer is that both Mike and his wife were willing to drop me off at home (or pick me up later) as needed. Whatta crew! Let me just say WOW. They matched 45-year-old paint PERFECTLY, and the fender looks nicer now than it did when I bought the car, like new. Oh, and Mike showed me his restoration project, a soon-to-be gorgeous Austin-Healey in the shop, which he works on during down-times. Highly recommeded if you do something dumb to your vintage ride and need a shop you can trust to undo the dumb.

After all, any time you're coming to one of these places it's never for a good reason, right? These places should be busting with people complaining. But no. Once again the folks that run Steve's stand out head and shoulders above other businesses in basic service, friendliness, holding up their promises. Shoot, they even gave me a ride to a coffee shop to wait while the work was being done--it was 2 blocks away but icy and they insisted. Wait... maybe I should go give the coffee shop it's 200th review on the quality of their latte art and those few crumbs someone dropped on the floor. Ya think? Nah, screw that. What's left to say? As I walked out the door actually enjoying spending $200 on a replaced side mirror and all the bells and whistles that go with it I said, "OK, see you next time I screw something up or someone runs into me." There are far worse experiences. Steve's will never be one of them.

Steve's Auto claims to provide a one year warranty on their service, so of course we brought her car back to have them replace the missing right mirror front cover, which they had clearly improperly installed (In conversation with my wife, Steve said he saw no other damage that could account for the cover coming off). We left the car there for a couple of hours and returned to be told that my wife was being charged for another right side mirror front cover. I was horrified. I could hardly believe my ears. This is the kind of behavior that gives auto service shops a bad name.

In 2020 we stopped in on our way to Manhattan with the hopes of purchasing a Rav 4 and walked out with what we were looking for. It of course took a while, but overall it was a smooth process and we didn't feel overly pressured. Now, this year, we had our older car totalled after being rear ended in the fall and after a lengthy insurance claim finally were ready to buy a new car this winter. With two kids in tow now a mini van seemed like the right fit and we settled on the Sienna. Only problem? There seems to be a Sienna shortage all over town. I called every single Toyota dealership in the KC metro, got on the waiting list for one of them, and the others either never responded to me, lied to me about their inventory to get me to purchase something I didn't want, or nearly laughed at me for even asking if they had any in stock. I was honestly pretty taken aback by how unprofessional and disinterested in my business the other dealerships were. Now, enter Crown Toyota who when I filled out an online form, a salesperson called me, and respectfully talked me through the shortage of Siennas, the wait, realistically what I was in for in terms of timeline, and was kind, courteous, and friendly throughout the whole process. Honestly, it's a small thing, but having Charlie call me and follow up with me made me feel like they wanted my business and actually cared about if I ended up with a vehicle that was excited about driving. After that phone call I stayed on the waiting list with another dealership just in case, but I was already pretty sold on working with Crown. After that he was in touch with their next shipment and what was available, we chatted about the one that was most attractive to us, reserved it over the phone, and then came in to finalize things when it arrived. I won't say it was a perfect experience, as there were a few hiccups when we went to pick it up in terms of the young man working that couldn't help us and seemed confused, and the complicated nature of having to have my husband sign electronically since he couldn't come with me, BUT it's still a five star experience because everyone that we worked with here was so nice, so supportive, and great at talking me through all the options. Charlie even followed up a week later to make sure I didn't have any questions and followed up a few more times to make sure the titled arrived, and that we were satisfied. I'm only in my thirties but maybe I'm more old school than I think when I say that I really value this level of customer service when making such a big purchase, and despite Lawrence being a bit further away I'm inclined to always reach out to Crown Toyota when I'm in the market for a new car.

Overall, they did a wonderful job with the body work! I do recommend them in that regard…read more My one concern, however, is with their removal of my Pride magnet from the trunk of my car during my car's stay at their facility. Briggs was replacing my passenger side door, yet somehow on the trunk of my car near my license plate, one of my five magnets was removed. Only the "Love is Love" Pride magnet was removed. I had four other magnets depicting various messages that were left on my car, including one that said "Kindness Matters" etc. One would think that if Briggs had to take off all of the decor from the trunk of my car for the purposes of the body work, that they would have removed everything, not just the Pride magnet. This magnet was removed and placed on the driver's side seat in my car, which I found when getting into my car after picking it up once the body work was completed. Perhaps this is simply an oversight on their behalf; however, given the 'political' nature of the magnet that was removed, it makes me a bit weary of the underlying business practices of Briggs. I'd love a response from the business explaining these actions, and am willing to change my review if this was simply an oversight or mistake on my behalf.

That change turned out to be a good thing, mostly for their staff, I find out, but that's a story I won't be telling. My feelings for this Honda dealers is this: I implicitly trust their service department, have known a number of them by name over the years, still do and they know me by name when I call. We're a three car family, all Hondas, so if there was any doubt, I'd be on to another brand in a heartbeat. They are brutally honest and true and have never failed me. Today's visit, I'm delighted to find a brand new facility that's been updated to modern times with things in the customer reception area like, oh, those modern conveniences like plug-ins for laptops and phones, USB ports, and of course the requisite coffee and free water bar, big screen TV, comfy chairs and tables of different sizes and heights and most importantly these days, plenty of room between yourself and others. Other changes, a larger lot, the entire old building razed and a new one built behind it in its place. A much nicer show room and plenty of places to meet privately for when the time comes to buy something. I made the mistake of buying one of my Hondas for a family member from a dealer in Olathe. Huge mistake. What happened there would not have happened here, and never has. Why I stick with these folks. Oh, and the wi-fi I'm using to craft this, lightning fast, no disruptions. Imagine that. So yea, maybe rating a car dealership isn't as cool as the new espresso joint or the latest new taqueria, but this place has always worked exceptionally well for me and I'm sticking with them.

Great experience, timely repair. I was driving through the area and they were able to fit me in.read more
