I happened to be in Downtown LA and, as always, my wife and I were on the hunt for a good coffee spot. We came across Dalian's and decided to give it a try. We ordered a cappuccino, a ham and cheese pastry, and another pastry. The coffee was great, and the pastries were delightful. The service was excellent and made the experience even better. On a side note, I really needed to use a restroom during our visit. Although they don't have a public restroom, the owner kindly gave me access to the hotel restroom next door, which I thought was a very thoughtful gesture. Overall, this is a great spot and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. I would happily recommend it and look forward to coming back. I walked down from the hotel I was staying at (uphill back!) and picked up a delicious iced decaf oat milk mocha and they heated up a chocolate croissant for me. Which i polished off on the walk back up the hill, delicious! Cute spot with great service. read more

Dalian's café is one of my favorite coffee shops in Downtown. The selection coffee is similar to other coffee shops, but there is something that their coffee do taste like coming from baristas that really care how they pour their lattes. Also, the bean quality is at point. The service is great, they're never in a rush to get your order and would explain you anything if you have questions about the coffee. The ambiance is so cute, it reminds me to coffee shops in Spain and London with their tables outside in the e middle of huge buildings. I swear every time I go to the office I make sure to stop by to this cafe cus I love it. read more

Small little coffee place with a nice selection of pastries to choose from. I ordered the mushroom feta pastry and a cup of coffee from the nice gentleman at the register. I was able grab a seat at one of the 2 tables they have inside and they have a lot more seating in the front of the shop. It didn't take long for my food to warm up and it was warmed perfectly. The pastry tasted delicious. A bit savory and not sweet but paired well with my coffee. I would like to try some of the other stuffed croissants they had because they all looked delicious. I stopped by looking for a coffee but I know I'll be back for the pastries at Dalian's. I had a lavender latte and it was splendid, no complaints at all. I also had a toasted ham and cheese croissant which was great. They have a beautiful apple pastry (I thinkkkk it's a danish) that caught my eye but I'm not always a big fan of apple - would love to come back to try it though! Special notes for to the collection of orchids (my favorite) at the window and the black and white design - making the space modern and welcoming at the same time. If you're looking for a real cafe this is it. You can just tell off the ambiance and quality this is the real deal. Many coffee shops in Los Angeles unfortunately target aesthetics, are watered down, mostly sweet, not so great quality. This shop is truly inspired by European coffee which you can taste. I've been here several times and pass by almost everyday. I see the same people coming and enjoying coffee in the mornings with their pups or working on their laptops. It gives a very family and home feel. Before learning more about this shop, I figured they were inspired by European coffee based on the layout and how strong my coffee was. The owner is also here everyday which makes it even more special. I've gotten iced mochas and vanilla lattes. Service is always friendly, quantity is not tiny, and it's not overly sweet. I love tasting espresso in my drinks so this was very important to me. The vanilla or mocha was never overpowering. I would definitely come here again and recommend to anyone coming around DTLA. Got the hazelnut coconut iced latte, a little sweet but very good. A shot of espresso in the tiniest Togo espresso cup I've seen lol, I love it! Tried out this cute small cafe in DTLA and loved it!! I got the iced matcha latte (unsweetened) with coconut milk. They use ceremonial grade matcha, which you could definitely tell because the matcha flavor was super strong, just how I like it. I also shared the kouign-amann pastry with a friend and it was amazing. It was crunchy on the outside but soft and flakey in the middle. It had caramelized sugar on the outside which gave it the perfect sweetness. They said that they get their pastries delivered fresh every morning. So if you go, definitely try one out! read more

Its indoor and outdoor seats provide a relaxing atmosphere. I came here early Friday morning to grab a drink; it's one of my spontaneous LA adventure moment. I was greeted by a tall long with curly hair male staff. Server inquired if I was British? I politely said YEASSSS (I reckon what gave me away?) Lol. After perusing their menu, I decided to grab a hot Lavender Latte x plain Croissant. Both items were bloody fantastic. Coffee was jolting and smooth while the Croissant was fresh, flaky and soft. Prices were priced according to their standard market value. Service was spot on like white on rice. Seats were limited. Finding a street parking spot was quite challenging. He had me taste it first and said he could sweeten it further if it wasn't enough - but it was perfect. I got the lavender and it wasn't overpowering. My partner ordered a hot latte (plain) and said it was good. Not the best in the city but if he was in the area he would know he could rely on this latte. He also got a ham and Swiss sandwich. The barista informed us that they get fresh sandwiches in daily from their baker. My partner loved it and felt like the $15 price tag was justified! Amazing spot for coffee. I've come here two days in a row and plan on coming back the remainder of the time I'm in town! I order a hot latte and it's consistently really good, with a strong taste of coffee vs milky. I wanted to get a kouign aman but there were barely any pastries left at 8:15am on the first day. The second day there was a full case (7:30am) and had a hard time choosing. I tried the turkey and cheese croissant. The croissant itself was really good and flakey but the meats itself didn't have any flavor. The ricotta & cranberries danish was nice and flakey and pretty good. I'm going to be sad when I can't come here for a latte every day. Lol The cafe is very convenient to a bunch of hotels! Cute, tiny little coffee shop in DTLA just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Central Library. Quick, friendly service with a small menu, and prices are slightly cheaper than I've seen at other coffee shops. More seating outside than inside, but it's nice when it's in the shade. I got an iced mocha and it was tasty, a good balance of chocolate and coffee without being ridiculously sweet. I would definitely come back for a coffee fix before/after visiting LA's Central Library! Skip the Starbucks just down the street and go to Dalian's instead! read more

Amazing all around. We stayed at the Hilton across the street and noticed a steady stream of customers in and out of this little coffee shop. We looked at Yelp and decided to give it a try. Everything we had was delicious. The pastries were each warmed up. I also had oatmeal (not pictured) with hot milk that they provided. The coffee (not pictured) was a favorite and didn't make it back to the hotel room. My husband is incredibly picky with coffee so I was surprised when he said it was delicious after he took his first sip. My matcha was perfect. I asked for half the amount of matcha and to be sweetened with vanilla. We ended up going back a few hours later to get another coffee for the road. Overall, I would highly recommend coming here for your coffee and pastry needs. We would even stop by if we're ever visiting the area again.
