He loves going to school every day, he loves his teachers, and has made many friends. Prior to starting, I was concerned with his speech and some of his social skills but after 4 short months he has grown and developed so much and I believe it is due to the environment and curriculum at Primrose. Nicole is super sweet every morning when I drop off, and my son loves her yoga class! The school itself is very clean and the classrooms very clean, colorful, and organized. The parents and families are also very kind! Lastly, we are very thankful that Primrose remains open during this national crisis, as I am a single mom and an essential worker. If it was not for Primrose being available to care for my son as I work, I'm not sure what we would do. All of the teachers make an effort to know every child's name and I think that makes them feel very special and included. I appreciate that they went through the process to become accredited and have a strong curriculum in place (while leaving plenty of room for the kids to still have fun). It's also nice that being in a federal building makes you feel like the kids are very safe. There are numerous security measures in place to finally get through the center's door, but nothing that would scare the kids. All of the building's security officers are so sweet with the kids!

During my time there, I personally witnessed teachers yelling at children and getting very close to their faces when correcting them. I also witnessed a two-year-old being placed in a corner after biting instead of seeing the behavior addressed through calm communication, guidance, and helping the child understand their emotions. As an early childhood educator, I believe young children need patience, respect, positive guidance, and developmentally appropriate discipline. Children this young are still learning how to communicate their needs and manage their emotions, and I believe challenging behaviors should be handled with understanding and teaching rather than fear or intimidation. My experience during those two days did not reflect the type of classroom environment I believe children deserve or the type of teaching environment I want to be part of. I ultimately decided not to doing my trainings there plus one teacher told me that I talked too much and I shouldn't be asking questions through my training, which I felt that was disrespectful. I asked questions for a reason to know the environment to know how these children work and how the teachers work. I don't have any pictures to prove and it's funny because they have cameras there. I wouldn't take my child here!!! parents don't know the reality of how teachers treat children. I've been working with early childhood for 10 years now, and this was a disgrace teacher, screaming at the children and putting them on in the corner.

My…read more2-year-old has come home with more unexplained injuries in the last few weeks than in our entire two years here. These wounds are often not treated properly, and there have been multiple times where no incident report was filed -- and neither my husband nor I were informed by staff. The assistant director, Vanessa Ortiz, has extremely poor communication skills. It often takes more than a full school day to get a response to emails about serious issues like injuries. When we've tried to address concerns in person, we're met with excuses, not answers -- and certainly no sense of urgency. Also, if you have an issue and ask for the teacher's names (since we don't know their names due to so much turn over), don't expect to get them without the director reaching higher above her and then telling you to reach out to the area or regional director :) Shockingly, some teachers have even stepped in during conversations with other staff and *yelled* at us while trying to defend one another. The stories we're told rarely add up, and it feels like there's a serious lack of transparency and accountability. Supervision in the classrooms is clearly lacking, and poor communication seems to be used as a cover-up rather than a fix. There has also been an alarming amount of turnover among staff and students in just the last two months alone. That said, I want to give a huge shoutout to Mrs. Margie, Mrs. Wanda, and Ms. Jasmine. These amazing ladies are the only reason we're waiting until summer to pull our son. We truly appreciate the love and care you show our baby -- thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Nearly two years ago, while researching daycares, I discovered Hope Day School. Initially, I had a…read morelist of several schools, which I narrowed down based on proximity, public reviews, and reported incidents. From the outset, something about the photos shared online and philosophies on Hope's website resonated with me. After touring many schools, Hope felt warm and inviting. The Executive Director and Assistant Director took the time to get to know our family and share their holistic approach and comprehensive curriculum, which includes nature, art, spirituality, nutrition, and open-ended play. Observing families dropping off their children gave me comfort as a first-time mom. My husband and I left with a strong, positive feeling. We applied to a few schools and ultimately chose Hope. It was the practical choice due to cost, availability, and location, but more importantly, it felt right.   A year later, our daughter still lights up when she arrives in the morning and eagerly reaches out to her teachers. She explores, learns, and socializes, and it's been a joy to watch her grow alongside the same group of children. The teachers are attentive and truly get to know each child individually. The chef prepares excellent meals, and I love seeing my daughter try a variety of healthy vegetables.   We have also enjoyed getting to know the other parents better. Another parent described the experience perfectly: "They always find a way to make things magical for the kids."
