And usually, the buffets are mediocre. For this one, it's not half bad. I think the most important station here is the one near the door towards your right had side (when entering). This is where all the moneyyyyyyy is! Iconic crab leg, limited one order per round per person and they serve it to you (I believe that is the same for the abalone). Everything elseeeee is up for grabs yourself. I think the most worth it are the seafoods - crab, muscles, abalone, herbal soups, crayfish. The malatang bar was nice too. Cherry on top are their full size soft drinks! Anddddd the rest are ok. There are more seafood on the hot and fried food sections but I think those are less worth it. I think they also have a good variety that can cater to a lot of people so that's always a plus. I'd say give them a go! read more

Surprisingly decent food with obsessively clean steam tray/serving areas and tables. Conscientious courteous servers and staff. Overall better than we expected. I've been to seemingly a hundred buffets, but today, we had the opportunity to visit the recently opened Daly Buffet. As things go, I tend to keep my expectations fairly low as buffets go, but we were pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality of the food within. Winners: Sushi - tons of salmon, some tuna all sliced up and ready to grab, along with Salmon Nigiri and rainbow and dragon rolls which were pretty decent. I spent most of my meal here. Marinated Beef Short Ribs - Grilled to order - really good, but maybe add a dash of BBQ sauce to it. Dim Sum - pork with black bean sauce - tender and yum! Not the biggest pieces, but very tender and flavorful. Broccoli & Tofu - from the steam tray - Broccoli on point and enjoyable but the tofu was tough. Desserts and Soft Drinks - serve yourself! Much better than having to ask a waiter/server to get the drinks for you like the old Moonstar or Todai AYCE buffets. Meh/Not impressive: Pizza - didn't look that appetizing, but this one is geared for the kiddie set. thin slices of steak - totally overcooked on the grill - not worth it.. PRO TIP: Tell them medium rare and maybe they will do that to order. All said, Daly Buffet exceeded my expectations for the most part. This is my first time ever writing a review in any restaurant or establishment Lady hostess was busy with another customer on the phone we waited patiently probably 10mins then she asked a male hostess to assist us. Husband then paid before we can actually go in the actual buffet area. Not even 10mins of eating a lady went to check our receipt hanging in our table and ask if we are still going to get food, it was just me and my daughter sitting then, and I said yes we're still getting food because we just sat down and we just started eating Then my husband came back from getting his food. The hostess wants us to get more food because she said they are going to change the lunch food to dinner and if we get food more they're going to charge us for dinner. Which they DID NOT inform us at all. They want us to get food to just sit in our table to get cold and eat. We were upset because again they didn't inform us about it, we could've easily paid for dinner buffet. We even ask if we can pay the remaining amount for dinner she said we have to pay separately for the dinner buffet. So another payment which is unbelievable! She apologized on behalf of her co worker who didn't let us know, we even saw the male hostess when we left and he didn't even say sorry or anything which is more upsetting. I know it was madness when they first opened because everyone wanted to try it out. So much anticipation for this location to reopen an Asian buffet! What's not to love about buffets, everything you can try and eat and unlimited drinks too. A few months in, they have sorted out the kinks and the space is clean and inviting. Plenty of tables for your large parties.come as a family, as a group or a weeknight date. Chill place Food is great, with a of seafood option. This is a great place for large groups or even if you're by yourself. My family came here to dine after the celebration of life services for my step mom, her and my Dad were married for 45 years. Had Dinner here on Sunday 7/12/2026. Upon arrival the hostess tried to check in my Mom, but she wanted to get out while we find parking in the garage. The same lady ended up ringing us up, we tried to avoid her but the other hostess was helping out a bigger group of people. She tried to seat us by the big TV, but my Mom wanted somewhere near the Buffet area. So she pointed us by the Sushi Bar and next to a Big Family when there were empty tables the next row back! Among my guilty (really not that guilty) pleasures in life is hitting up a buffet every now and again. Even though the food is never as good as what you can get from a regular sort of restaurant, it's fun being able to get a little of this and a little of that in whatever amounts you so desire. However, ever since COVID came along and shuttered nearly every buffet around SF, those opportunities have become increasingly scarce. So, it's easy to understand why so many folks, like me, have been so excited to see Daly Buffet come along! Compared to when Kome Buffet used to call this space home, Daly Buffet looks both fresher and notably cleaner (new tables, chairs, and fixtures). However, other than those somewhat superficial changes, the layout of this place is largely the same - a huge dining room, with a large private area in the back, and different stations scattered about offering a range of dim sum items, salads, sushi, sashimi, seafood, tons of hot foods, desserts, and a couple of counters where you can get made-to-order noodle soups and grilled meats. Based on everything I tried, the vast majority tasted fairly comparable to the same/similar dishes Kome used to offer. Certainly, some items weren't as good, such as their chicken wings (smaller, not as crispy) and char siu/BBQ pork (kind of dry, bland). However, others were far better, particularly their sashimi (thicker cuts, better quality) and sushi rolls (not doused in sauce). What's more, their seafood is more impressive (crab legs, mussels, clams, crawfish, and raw oysters) and their made-to-order noodle soups are surprisingly solid - several broths and a wide range of goodies you can add, like beef, lamb, fish, lobster balls, beef balls, fish balls, several types of noodles, and more. Along with those improved offerings, there are two other big changes about Daly Buffet. The first is that drinks are now included as part of the price. Not a big deal if you were to opt for water, but it's nice that they have a variety of Asian teas and juices in addition to your typical soft drinks. Second, they are a "tip free" restaurant...sort of. While tips aren't expected, but they do apply an 8% service charge to every bill (12% for parties 20 or more). Since we figured/feared there would be a crowd when we came here on a Saturday night, we opted to get here at 5pm and were able to get seated immediately. As such, we didn't encounter the long lines that others have mentioned, but the place did get noticeably busier as the night wore on. That said, even if we did, we wouldn't have minded a short wait to come here. Given how the only other buffet around (Beijing Buffet/King Sun Buffet in South SF) isn't all that good, Daly is the only real option, but even if they weren't, the food is still decent enough for a buffet to justify the occasional splurge. I loved the variety--they have a Malatang bar, BBQ grill, sushi section, classic Chinese-American dishes, dim sum, and even bottled beverages. The modern setup made it quite fun to sample a bit from every section Some highlights: - The salmon sashimi, BBQ short ribs, Malatang with bone broth, and honey walnut shrimp (without the walnuts) were my favorites - Premium items like abalone and mussels were good--they limit you to one order per person, but you can return for more - Staff were attentive and quick to clear plates Heads up: - Watch your BBQ plate closely! FYI, I went twice by the time you see this review. This buffet replaces the popular Kome buffet. It's been so long since Kome was there that I don't remember it enough to give it a proper comparison. Long wait time to get in if you go during peak dinner time (also depends on your party size). You get a number ticket, then when you get called you pay at the front desk. Then you wait some more while they get your table ready. Then they take you to your table. Since there doesn't seem to be a time limit, people I've known eat for 3+ hours! Food stations were kinda messy and high risk of cross contamination. Seafood areas were picked clean a lot of the times lol. Quality of food was okay; not amazing but not bad either. I really enjoyed the malatang station where you can pick your ingredients, and the cook will make your soup with your soup of choice. Bone broth was soooo good The teppanyaki line was very long but did not try. The cooks/kitchen staff were not wearing proper PPE when cooking so I worried not only for sanitation/cross contamination issues, but also for their health! Teppanyaki guy was getting all that grill smoke in his face and eyes! Bussing/wait staff frequents your table to clear out dirty plates so you'll always have room for more plates of food. Taking away points for: Ladies restroom sinks were flooded. The beverage dispensers in the drink area pumped out carbonated water instead of regular water. Overall, if you're looking for *okay-ish* AYCE Chinese food once in a while, give this place a shot. But nothing too crazy at the moment. Last week was Fridate. As recommended, my husband & I tried the Daly Buffet. I heard about it but never visited the restaurant. As we entered, there was a line and people were waiting. There was a theater screen behind the check in counter. There was one line & I was told that we pay first before getting our table. We were seniors so we paid less than the standard. After paying, we were told to go to another line to wait for our table. They called the # on our ticket. They had large dining room. Nice fixtures. We got our table where a big TV screen was. I went first to get the food as my husband watched my bag. I started first the dimsum and soup station. Loved the taste of the regular bone broth I had for soup with other ingredients & noodles. They also cooked the meat of your choice. On second round I went to the sushi rolls station. They had different presentation of rolls and they were alright. The fruits served were not sweet yet. My husband enjoyed what he had like meat with olives, sweet pepper, fried drumsticks, fried rice, etc . He got the shrimps for both of us. He kept on deveining it which was not fun. He can handle the shells but removing the veins was taking time. He ate the shrimps and tasted some sweetness but he liked it. There were many people at lunch. The bus boys were fast on clearing the plates on tables which was nice so there will be more space for the second round of plates. You really need to come to this restaurant with empty stomach. I said I may not come back anytime soon. But my hubby wants to try some other meat served. The long sink in the bathroom was kind of plugged. The water did not drain well. Two words: LAVA BUNS! So you may have seen some bad reviews for Daly Buffet and that's what kept me from visiting here for awhile but today we decided to take a chance and on a Thursday at 1:30pm, we were seated pretty much right away. The selection of food was honestly good enough for $30pp. I'm sure the selection is better coming at night or on the weekends but honestly, I wouldn't pay $45 for those other times. Take a look at my short clips to see all the food we got. I was super full and satisfied. The most popular item was definitely the Malatang that everyone was constantly lining up for. I liked the small amount of dim sum they had available and a few hot food items were quite delicious. Sushi is pretty standard at these types of buffets and of course you have your usual soups, fruits and desserts. Drink choices aren't that great but you get to self serve. They need more coffee machines because it was all chaos with no line and everybody wanting both coffee and hot water from one single machine. Restaurant is huge and each area is sectioned well so that you don't get too much of a back up or cluster of people. The servers were very good about coming to clean off our plates and all the staff were trying to keep up with fresh food from the kitchen. Came here on the first day of the soft opening and was really excited to try Daly Buffet, it's always fun when a new buffet or food spot opens up. First off, drinks were free, which was a great perk! There was a wide variety, including bottled teas, milk teas, fruit teas, and sodas. The food selection was what you'd expect from a solid Asian buffet: teppanyaki, malatang, hot dishes, dim sum, and desserts. One thing that really stood out: they had fresh garlic abalone and abalone soup, which I've never seen at a buffet before. There was a limit of two per person at a time, and a bit of a line, but you could just keep coming back. It felt like a premium offering and was a really nice touch. As for the sushi, unfortunately, it was frozen and icy cold, so I ended up avoiding it. Hopefully that improves over time! The wait was insanely long, but again, expected for opening day. After checking in and getting a number, you prepay before being seated. We ran into a small issue when we got up for another round of food. The staff thought we had left, cleared our table, and seated another group. Since it was so packed and you can't just grab an open seat, there was nowhere else to sit. The staff ended up removing the group they had just seated and returned our table to us, awkward for everyone, but we appreciated them doing their best to resolve it. After that, we just made sure to leave our jackets on the chairs each time we got up. Despite the chaos, I had a good time. Daly buffet, taking over the previous buffet spot next to the theater. I came on a week day around 5pm, there was a couple people ahead of us paying to get in so not much wait time. My parents were able to get senior discount over 65 years old. It's $39.99 per person for dinner and a 8% service fee. For the price I was hoping to see some good seafood in here and I was happy they had raw oysters! It was fresh and oh very delicious, they were all gone around 7pm and wasn't being restocked so it's better to come early! They had abolone and not the can ones, they were served with their shell as well! They also had abolone soup and snow crab as well, for those you have to come back multiple rounds since they serve those to you. The sushi section was quite large and had tons of selections, the rolls were not particularly good so I skipped those and went to the sashimi section, salmon sashimi tasted fresh so that's a plus. For the warm food, they had various of seafood, dim sum, and Chinese food so that's all to your own preference. Also a malatang section. The dessert section I wished had more selection, they had jello, a small cake section, lots of fruits, and tiny ice creams to grab and go. The drink section was also grab and go. Overall it was a hit or miss with the food, I tried a bunch of items but ultimately went back to the seafood that was good (got to make up that $40 worth ahahaha). So much selection! This place was able to accommodate our party of almost 50 people. If you call ahead and they're available, they can probably put your party in the back room for more privacy. They were attentive and quick with getting the empty plates. Seafood seemed pretty fresh and good for buffet food. They even had a mala tang station. We came here for lunch and dinner on different occasions and the selection is pretty much the same so come at lunch for a better bang for buck. Dinner starts at 3:30pm. Came here with my family to celebrate my aunt's birthday and I was surprised by the vast amount of options they have here! That's definitely a plus but there were a lot of ups and downs with the quality of the food. The malatang was the best thing there - their pork bone broth was hearty and flavorful. My husband was excited for the sashimi and raw oysters but soon realized it was a bad idea.. He said the fish was not fresh and the oysters had an odd taste to them and had a stomach ache shortly after. The regular Cantonese staples there were solid. I particularly loved how they cooked the string beans and broccoli. Now, the strangest thing happened while we were there. The fire alarm went off and there were alerts telling people to evacuate the building but everyone kept eating. I thought it was strange until I overheard a staff member telling a customer that it was from a restaurant nearby. I wonder why that would sound their fire alarm system though. I am not sure why this place has low reviews. I came in with low expectations, but left with higher expectations and was very content with my happy tummy. Came here on Saturday for 12pm lunch and it wasn't crowded. Glad we came time as we waiting for our whole group of 6 yo arrive. Nice waiting entrance with seats on side of walls and about 3-4 cashier at counter. Sign on left wall said limit 90 minutes eating. Finally my party arrived and we were seated near the front. Tables spaced apart so had room to walk around the tables. Let's get our drinks first on the left wall side. This is cool , you self serve your drinks at the refrigerator, the Soda machine or coffee machines. Then outside if it is a freezer with either chocolate or strawberry ice cream. You can also get new utensils here as well. Then we went back to our seats to put drinks at our seats and headed to far right side to get our plates to start the fruits or just jump to the dim sum side with the salted lava buns and taro buns. Yummy start. Then got to the limited edition section of three items. I didn't know what they were, but I got the limit one per person until you eat all of it and then you can keep coming back. Hey you need to get some exercise and not be too fat just sitting and eating all day. I feel this is fair, I hate selfish hoarders who pile their plates and leave scraps or nothing behind for the next people. How rude! It's a good buffet has something for everyone and guaranteed you won't leave here starving. It may not have a vast selection of food, but I think because they are focused the quality of food is good. I can tell different with low quality vs. higher quality of food. I hate Hometown buffet which I admit because quality of food was negative and I have had better. They got TONS of options here! I wanted to make my money's worth so I went after sashimi , seafood, crab legs, seafood boils and skipped cheap items like chow meins and so on. There's a section where you can get drinks either from a fountain or pick up bottles of various tea type drinks or water. They also have hot cocoa and coffee on deck! I highly recommend getting their individual pot of Chinese medicinal herb soup. It has individual portioned of pork bones, abalone, ginseng, and a half chicken feet. Came here on a Tuesday at 4:30 pm for dinner and it was quite empty when we got here but quickly got crowded as we got closer to 6 pm. You pay at the register and they charge approximately 47.46 per person after taxes and service fee. This is a no tipping establishment. The lay out of this place was exactly the same as it's predecessor Kome. There was a huge variety of sushi, seafood, dim sum, and Chinese food. The sushi included rolls and sashimi, which were decent. Rule one of ayce is to not fill up on rice, which I quickly broke because I wanted to try all the rolls . The dim sum were pretty good but wasn't hot. They also do malatang where you can pick veggies, noodles, and raw meat for them to cook and add to your broth of choice, although I think they reused my same bowl with the raw lamb so I felt a bit grossed out. I suggest using a plate(instead of a bowl) to pick your ingredients to avoid this. They also have a grilling station where you can choose different meats to be charred and cooked fresh which was pretty good. Overall the food was ok and probably only worth it if you are a big eater and want a variety of stuff. If you are expecting the same kind of food quality as the previous buffet that it took over "Kome", don't. The food here is just okay. It gets the job done to satisfy your hunger and the need to eat at a buffet. Their sushi station can't compete with what Kome had. I miss the buffets pre-covid. One thing I like about this place is their drink options. Lots to choose from. The place is huge so it can definitely accommodate a big group or a party. Workers are good at taking your plates away when you're done. I only come here when I am in the mood for a buffet and also because there isn't a lot of buffets to choose from around the area. Witt buffets, I am always concerned that, due to the amount of food they serve relative to the price point, the quality of the food will be lackluster. From a price vs quality standpoint, Daly Buffet's value proposition is actually not bad. Of course, if you can eat more, the return on investment is even better! They had many of the Cantonese staples and requisite buffet desserts (jello, anyone?), but the surprising high point was the sashimi. I was wary about it at first, but, once I got over that and took a bite, all my concerns went away and I dug in. The fish was fresh and prepared well. Service was as expected; you get your own food but the waiters were good about picking up finished plates. The interior of the place itself is a bit worn; I have memories of this space's glory days in its original Kome iteration. Invited to lunch at Daly. This place is at least the 3rd buffet restaurant all under a different name. Looks like slightly remodeled but basic set up still the same. We had 20 people and had 3 tables of 8 people in the back private room. We went for lunch on a Friday and we were all seniors. Good choice of variety and most dishes were decent to some were very good. Service of the waiter in the private room was very efficient. Lots of variety and even the help yourself to drinks was plentiful. I heard usually you have 1-1/2 hours to eat and they want you out but we were able to stay over 2 hours without being asked to leave. I think it wasn't that crowded. Honestly... this might just be my guilty pleasure... don't tell anyone. You pay before you eat (which imo makes perfect sense). Dinner is $36 per person and lunch is $27 (definitely come for lunch instead, its more worth it). They have a drink bar with sodas and fridged drinks (and coffee + Lipton tea). I personally liked their Pear juice with rock sugar! Really refreshing and it's fun to try all the drinks out too! What makes this buffet stand out is their teppanyaki grill and malatang bar. They have great selections within those two stations. The grill has great beef short ribs (you can only grab two at a time but just get back in line afterwards) marinated surprisingly well. Their bulgolgi is actually super good too (I like to add onions + bell peppers). I don't recommend getting the pork belly just because its not AS tasty. Don't need to wasting those valuable calories there. The Malatang bar has 4 different soup flavors: Mala, tomato, Thai, and regular bone soup. I got the regular bone soup and it's pretty refreshing. Their sushi and raw fish was solid and tastes exactly as you want it to taste and NO upset stomach after (huge win!). Their crab is definitely not worth getting, personally. It was kinda bad and bad NOT as in rancid but bad as in the meat was kinda snowflakey and not the taste I like in crab - but thats just me! Their dimsum, however, is 1000% skippable. It's basically frozen dim sum they steamed up. I don't recommend that. Their regular buffet food (orange chicken, mein, fried rice, broccoli, etc) is all really solid. Tastes exactly like American Chinese food. They also have a chocolate fountain. Oh how I missed that chocolate fountain from the moonstar days. How I miss moonstar and kome. Food is decent. It's Tahoe / Reno Level. Don't expect Vegas Level. Service is fast, they clear your table of dirty plates asap, longest wait on a busy day can be 10-20 min. How exciting that a new buffet place opened in Daly City!! Made a trip with the wifey for lunch to check it out for its soft opening. We came around 11:20am and the lobby was packed like crazy. It felt like the New York Stock Exchange with people screaming and bunching up at the counter to get seated. I think what caused it was their POS system was down so kudos to the Hostess for handling all the screaming people with grace. If I'm not mistaken, it looks like you pay first before getting seated. The hostess made an executive decision to have people seated and just pay after. Once she did that we were seated in minutes. The place is fairly huge with a lot of seating. The food trays were nice and organized with dim sum in the front hot foods, in the middle and sushi/desserts towards the back. The food selection is pretty good with hot foods, dim sum, sushi and Malatang. I did miss getting bbq which they had as well. The food is very reminiscent of Kome which is not a bad thing. What I was impressed with most was their drink section, they had a great selection of fountain drinks and even milk tea!! I have to confess that I was a bit under the weather so didn't get a chance to gorge as much as I wanted not having too much of an appetite. But I gotta do it for the people! I hope Daly does well and I will definitely come back. It's been too long since we've had a buffet restaurant in the Peninsula that is not hot pot. Lunch pricing is $25.99 which is very fair. This was an ok place, as buffets go. I didn't waste time with all of the fluff stuff and got straight to business. After doing my walk around to see what they had, I went to the front and got the razor clam soup, garlic abalone and king crab legs. You are limited to one serving at a time for those. The clams and abalone were good, but the crab legs were dry, as expected of all crab legs at buffets. I also loaded up at the seafood station, getting sea snails (which were very tasty), shrimp cocktail and octopus. Went back seconds of the razor clams and abalone. 3rd round was some korean marinated short ribs, which were quite tasty, some shrimp boil and stir fried broccoli. Finished with some gelatin dessert, ice cream and some sort of fruit creme cake. read more

We went around dinner opening and so was seated quickly, and the restaurant offers plenty of options--sushi, grilled meats, and noodle soups. Drinks are unlimited and self-serve, which was convenient. Flavors were decent overall, though dinner is definitely on the pricier side. One thing I didn't love was the limit of only two meats on the grill at a time, even though there wasn't a line. Overall, it's a decent spot but nothing really stood out as expected from a buffet. Parking is easy since it's next to the big parking lot that is shared with the movie theatre. read more

I've been here decades ago when it was Tomei and Kome. I'm glad they are back remodeled with more options than you can eat. It's incredible the variety they offer from raw fish (sushi) to dim sum and even fries and pizza for the little ones. I didn't take any pictures because their website and all the pictures already posted gives you a good deal of what they have to offer. I like trying everything so for me, the challenge is to pace yourself and get a little of what I wanted to try so I can go back and get more if I wanted. There's just so much variety and they have several stations with several different soups, small variety of dim sum, American and Japanese cold salads, classic cantonese dishes along with crab legs and short ribs. How can you go wrong? One of my favorite was the abalone soup - it was soothing and reminded me of the homemade soup the older generation often made. That hit the spot and was so comforting. There's unlimited drinks - from canned to bottled asian drinks and soda from the fountain to tea and hot chocolate in the separate beverage section. They offer a free birthday meal but it has to be within a 2 day window of the actual date. The dessert section had cookies, all types of jello and assortment of small cakes. It's good that the cakes are small so you can try the other flavors if you want without being too stuffed. Prime time at noon and 6pm on weekends are probably the busiest and you can tell how long the wait will be to get seated by the size of the crowd waiting in the lobby. There's free parking in the nearby garage so that is very convenient. I would say the only down side is the price for the younger kids is on the high side because they usually don't/can't eat that much. There is a 8% charge in addition to tax at 9.8%.
