We were a frequent-flyer to the restaurant when Tai Yuan was here. We were happy to see that the restaurant reopened as another dimsum place, CH Imperial. We tried it from April to June and it was a mess. Disorganized and the food was only so so. Several things on their extensive dimsum menu were not even available. Why listed them? So disappointed. We just returned and they finally got over their growing pain. The food quality is almost as good as Tai Yuan before, and their waiters are attentive. Hope they keep this up. Came here for lunch today, and the place was almost full. Luckily, there was no wait, and our food came out quickly. We pretty much ordered our usual favorites, and everything was just as tasty as we remembered. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. They also have a couple of new promotions that caught our attention. The only downside was that the tables were placed very close together, making the dining area feel a bit cramped. I also noticed that the chair covers were extremely dirty, which could definitely use some attention. It might just be because today is a really busy day, but the service was extremely slow . We made our selections for dim sum and waited twenty minutes for a server to take our order. Not sure what happened the past 2 times when I went back for dinner. The waiter taking our order was upselling us on the Soy Sauce Chicken saying it goes well with rice. Ordered it and it was overcooked from reheating in the microwave and appeared to be left out on the BBQ display all day and was definitely not fresh. The other time the kitchen forgot half our order and they didn't make it until we asked them about our order close to 9pm. We were about to close the tab and leave, the waiter said the food is on the way. Honestly they dropped the ball, especially things got worse after they opened. The staff all have walkie talkies, but they are rather underutilized, like they could have just simply pinged the kitchen for the status of our order. CH Imperial Garden replaced the old dim sum place that used to be in this mall. They totally renovated the place and it looks completely different. When you first walk in you'll see all the chairs nicely covered with a a Tiffany blue ribbon and the rooms all have large screen TVs. Since we arrived a little after 10, we were seated immediately. You need to order from the menu with your selection. I like how they have a good tea selection where all the price of the tea is the same. We got the tin kuan yin tea and the quality of the tea was pretty strong, just the way I like it. They have a huge menu where they also have rice and noodles dishes in case you don't want dim sum. Everything we ordered was delicious! And the servers that brought them out, we're all super polite. They said good morning how are we doing and asked if we wanted to cut the pieces. What top notch service! Here's everything that we order and I highly recommend them all. - steamed pork shrimp dumplings -steamed beef balls -bean curd skin rolls -five-spice taro dumplings -deep fried meat dumplings -Cilantro beef rice rolls -Tofu pudding Everything was exceptional and with this level of service it really makes a difference. Been coming to this location for many years and it has been through at least 2-3 changes in ownership. As of 2026, it was taken over by the Cheung Hing ownership. They did a light remodel of the old restaurant; overall the restaurant is your typical Cantonese banquet layout with large tables and a few smaller tables throughout. It was brightly lit and plenty of space between the tables. Since they soft opened roughly about 1 week ago(03/13/2026), they still don't have a few things ready yet such as the water tank for the live fish and dinner service was a bit slow since it took awhile to get our dishes. We tried: 1) Dried Scallop, Chive w/ Shredded Chicken Soup($18.95)(6.8/10) - A overall good soup; light and flavorful without being overly salty. There was plenty of shredded chicken, but didn't see too much of the chives(yellow chives). The portion size was pretty big for a family of 4; we each were able to get about 2-3 bowls each. 2) Sweet & Sour Chicken($15.95)(7.3/10) - This dish sort of surprised me. It was really good...the chicken was tender and juicy with a light crisp. The onions,green bell peppers and pineapple had a good wok hei to them. The sauce was just right consistency and flavor was good - leaning more towards the sour side. 3) Stir Fried Chinese Broccoli[Gai Lan] ($16.95)(7.1/10) - A simple and tasty vegetable dish. The gai lan was cooked perfectly and the garlic sauce complemented the gai lan. The gai lan was fresh and still had a good snap when eating them. 4) Shredded Pork Pan-Fried Crispy Noodles($16.95)(7.4/10) - A very good dish. The noodles were fried well; without it feeling too greasy. Held up well with the shredded pork gravy sauce. The shredded pork gravy sauce was savory and flavorful; there was enough to mix with all the noodles. Overall, the dinner dishes that I tried were really good and were seasoned appropriately. At first, when seeing the prices, we originally thought it was a bit expensive; but given the portions sizes that we got for each dish, I would say it is reasonably priced. Overall, dishes we tried were on par with other Cantonese restaurants; it won't wow you but it will satisfy that craving for Cantonese style food. Service was a hit and miss; it did take awhile to flag staff for some more tea or chili sauce; kitchen was a bit slow to push out dishes - but I'll give them a pass since they've been only open for 1 week when I went. Heavier flavors (as expected), fast service, prompt and generous portions for all dishes. It's not the cleanest place and there are definitely piles of dirty dishes that seem to be tucked away in different places, but the dishes themselves seem clean and entrees are well made. If you come to these kinds of restaurants for dim sum or banquet style fare with your friends/family, you know what to expect, and this meets those expectations. We got a ticket for 6 at table B9, another group of guests took one of those paper and wrote herself B9, and the wait person was so confused until we told her that we were assigned B9 by her on the list before that lady who took the paper and wrote it herself. New dim sum restaurant that took over the old place. I've been coming to this place for close to 20 yrs I think. This place probably changed owners 4 or 5 times. Way back it used to be Tai Wu. That was the best. Then at some point it became Tai Yuan which was also good. Then a couple of weeks ago it became CH Imperial. It wasn't until I saw Cheung Hing imprinted on the tea pot which I discovered it's part of the Cheung Hing chain (which explains CH Imperial being CH for Cheung Hing). Being the second week it was opened, it was packed. Not sure if everyone wanted to try the new place or was it just a typical Sunday. I had no idea this place remodeled and changed owners. Place looks new but the decor is cheesy also with the cheesy chair covers. Bathroom remodeled but still dirty and floors were wet. Service was horrible. We sat at our table but no servers available. I would figure they would provide faster service since they wanted to make an impression. Difficult to get them to refill the tea pot. What's worst, we are a party of 10. Took forever to get someone to bring us hot sauce. They brought one small dish. Really????? For 10 people? Asked for more and they basically refilled the same amount in the same small dish. Food was ok. Pricey!!!!! Nothing to rant and rave about. The way you order is kind of a scam if you ask me. They give you a colorful menu to order from. You mark off how many you want. So when your order gets placed in the kitchen, they give you a confirmation receipt. The receipt is in Chinese!!! So you have no clue what you ordered. I would not recommend this place unless you're prepared to wait over an hour for your food. We were seated promptly as the restaurant was filling up. Twenty mins after giving them our order sheet, they came by our table to confirm our order. Apparently there was a mix up with the order sheet with the table next to us. Both tables confirmed everything and our orders were placed. 10 mins later, the next table started to receive majority of their order while we waited patiently with nothing on our table. After 30 mins, we finally received 3 of our order. Another 15 mins, we received one more order. We flagged down several staff to ask them to check on our food.
