Daly buffet was such a letdown and definitely one of those places where you're just praying you don't get sick afterward. I even went right at 11am when they opened thinking it'd be fresh. I usually hate wasting food, but I straight up had to spit out so many things because they were literally rancid, the sushi felt like it had been sitting out since yesterday, and the imitation crab salad, fried donuts, pork spare ribs, and even the tofu from the mala tang were all completely inedible. To make it worse, the "clean" soup bowls still had food bits stuck to them from the dishwasher, and people were literally trying to cut in line right after you pay. The only decent things were some of the dim sum, the steamed fish, congee, and the mala tang meats, but it was still not worth $26.99 for lunch . I didn't take photos but this place is huge. all the way in the back is the sashimi/sushi/cold seafood section (shrimp cocktail, oysters), also some soup, desserts, fresh fruit is in the corner of this side and closest to the door; to the right when facing the sushi is the hot seafood (crawfish, clams, calamari). if you were to turn around there alone the same wall is hot asian food (chow fun, lo mein, BBQ (2 pieces per person, per round). keep going along this wall is the mala tang bar, then the snow crab/mussels, and dim sum. the other side of the sushi section has the drinks; I went around 1:30pm and it was packed but still had enough room to navigate through the people. it was good timing because as we were getting full/getting ready to leave the line for BBQ started forming. drinks range from soda on tap, iced tea, and bottled beverages: arrowhead water, jasmine tea, jasmine tea with honey, pear juice with rock sugar, and black tea with lemon. the mala tang bar has 4 soup bases to choose from. the thai one is more sour than spicy, with a hint of coconut as well. will definitely be back! read more

It is a good overall buffet. Don't expect gourmet or Vegas style grand buffets as the price point would not support that. This buffet has a good variety of sushi, hot foods and even made to order sauté and hot pot stations. I like the fact that they don't charge extra for non alcoholic beverages. They have a good decent selection of sushi and the fish themselves are fresh enough. The hot foods are a hit or miss but I think they just don't have enough turnover so the food tend to be overdried/cooked. If the business picks up I'm sure it would be better. The wait staff are pretty good about making frequent sweeps to clear finished plates. The highlight for me would be the hotpot station with multiple soup base options and a good option of foods to put in. They need better and fresher fruit options and more desserts. Thought the highlights were the bottled tea drinks, salt and pepper crab, fresh fruit, sticky rice dim sum, teriyaki chicken, roast duck, and grill items (except the kalbi was overmarinated and too tough/stringy). I am wary of freshness and do not eat sashimi or oysters at buffets, but the visual onceover I cast at the sushi bar had me reconsidering. Worst buffet ever. 1 hour wait for table, 1 hour wait for food because the line for protein that's cooked in front of you is ridiculous. The serving area is only open on one side instead of both sides to make it more efficient. Constantly ran out of dishes I had to ask for plates, sauce dishes, bowls for the soup line. Everyone was so confused and staff just shrugged like "it'll come out when it comes out". The food was ok at best. The cooked protein had zero taste, not worth waiting 1 hour in line. Pretty great bang for your buck! I learned about this buffet opening up in June and had to check it out! They do not take reservations unless you have more than 20 ppl in your party (wild). My family and I went it on a Monday evening at 6:15pm and surprised to see no line! We went for dinner on a Saturday night and the buffet has plenty of options, such as sushi, malatang, Korean bbq, dim sum dishes, and a dessert section along with standard items such as chow mein, orange chicken, fried rice, pizza, fries, and etc. The cost is $39.99 per person (before tax/tip) for weekend dinner, and it seemed to be sort of reasonable considering the many options. However, the flavor was lacking in multiple dishes, and I did not feel satisfied with the quality of the meal. I did enjoy the Korean BBQ station where you select different meats and veggies and they grill it for you. In addition, the snow crab legs were tasty, but there is a limit on how many you can get each time. The restaurant was very crowded, and while customer service was friendly & attentive, the atmosphere was alright and nothing special. I did not like how the sushi area lacked signage and along with no information on ingredients. Therefore, it may be less ideal for people with certain dietary restrictions or for those who have food-related allergies or picky eaters. It's honestly so chaotic when you first get in, they seriously should establish a better system. Basically, you go to the middle lane, get a number, wait for your number to be called, pay for the meal, and wait again to be seated. We were number 42 and it took us about 25 minutes to get seated. The food was alright, but there wasn't a lot of variety. Two buffet stations practically had the same food. Tables were also so close together, the person behind me was basically touching my chair back to back. There was also no boba drinks, is that just for dinner? I'm not sure. A Promising New Start for a Familiar Spot, But Major Improvements Needed. As a local who has seen a few restaurants come and go in this exact spot, I was excited to see Daly Buffet open its doors. We went to celebrate my dad's birthday and to check it out during its opening week. Be prepared for a wait--we arrived at 11:30 AM and waited about an hour to be seated. There are some definite bright spots. The interactive Malatang station, where you pick your ingredients for a custom soup, is a fantastic touch. The same goes for the teppan grill. Having self-serve bottled drinks included in the price is also a huge plus. However, the buffet is showing some serious growing pains. The biggest issue was the food stock. By 12:30 PM, many of the trays were empty, which is tough during the peak lunch rush. The overall food quality was decent but didn't quite live up to the level of Kome, the previous buffet here. Long lines for the stations and a typically chaotic buffet atmosphere are to be expected. I'm rooting for Daly Buffet and hope it succeeds where others have failed. After losing two buffets in the area during the pandemic, Daly Buffet back in the daly city! It's also super exciting to see all the customers rushing back to the buffet just the first week alone! Expect long waits during lunch or dinner times. I went here twice during a lunch($26) and birthday dinner($42) meals. For birthday, the conditions are that you need to be in a four adult paying group, one being the birthday person and they allow one day before your birthday for your free meal as well but bring ID for proof! We got seated and the place was actually pretty nice. It's very clean.. We went to get some sushi. All the fish are not fresh at all. They tasted like it was frozen before. The abalone soup was tasteless. There was a fish that was bought out so I got a scoop of it thinking it should be good or at least ok but it was so bland. All I tasted was oil and a hint of jalapeño. The shrimp crab claw was bland too. Usually u tasted that shrimp but this was almost like it was made of fish with no flavor. My little boy had some jelly and it wasn't good. There's a good variety of drinks as well -- overall, it's quite comprehensive. The taste is fairly average -- nothing particularly outstanding, but nothing bad either. The service is somewhat limited; no one clears the plates (or they do so quite slowly). If you live nearby, it's a suitable place for family gatherings or get-togethers with friends. Food wasn't bad for the price and edible than most AYCE places. Service was fantastic! They didn't remodel much from the old Kome which was already a nice space.
