Got a car accident, then found this company online (yelp has great reviews), but they made an appointment with me the next day 12-5pm, and didn't show up, I called them that day around 4pm and they kept letting me wait, and said if the driver doesn't call me by 5pm, then I will have to wait until the next day (so what's the point to make an appointment and let me wait all day long???), I told them the place I parked my totaled car charges me $65 per day and they are closing at 5pm, but the company didn't care at all, just told me to wait and wait and wait. (when I said it's 4pm, and the place is gonna close at 5pm, they said they will call the driver to let him call me. and 26 mins later, I called again, the guy said it's only 4 mins, i had to give them some time to call the driver. and 4 more mins later, i called again, it's already 4:20pm, the other woman answered the phone with bad attitude, just told me to wait until 5pm see if they show up or not, if not, then it will be the next day) Actually, the company kept me waiting and had bad attitude was not directly from DamagedCars, the DamagedCars ppl are actually friendly in the phone, the ppl ditched me and made me had to pay $65 for one more day parking was the towing company DamagedCars has business with. I'm in California, I contacted DamagedCars, and DamagedCars checked all my car info and gave me the price, then they found a towing company and made an appointment with me to tow my car. You paid off your car 8 months ago, finally got new tires 3 months ago and then one day you're driving and the engine starts smoking. What do you do? If you're me, you panic, then cry, then get your act together and call your favorite auto shop and tow truck. Somewhere in there I text my bosses, but I was trying to figure out just how bad this situation was. Since I'm writing a review for DamagedCars.com, I think you figure out how my story ends. The auto shop called and gave me the bad news, and you could tell they felt bad even having to tell me it, but they were patient and didn't mind me calling to ask questions. They recommended a few places that would come junk the car, but it was my own search that found me this place. Most of the nearby places offered a couple hundred dollars or to just get rid of it for you for free. I was hesitant using a company that wasn't "local", but they explained that they have guys locally who will come tow the truck and hand over the check once I give them the title. FANTASTIC!!! My husband's 18-year old truck ended up blowing a ball joint. I didn't want to sink any more $$$ into the money pit it was sure to become, so I contacted damaged cars on a SAT, via email. We received an initial quote on the following MON. The local tow company had agreed to pick up the truck on TUE morning. After 2PM, they called to say they couldn't get out there until WED. I'm very happy with my experience with damagedcars.com. I had to sell a car with all four U.S. time zones in play. With me in WA, my credit union in CO, my car in TX and damagedcars.com in FL, they made the transaction as easy as it could be. They overnighted paperwork to me and then subsequently the final payment to my credit union and picked up the car from storage within one week. The car was a Mazda RX8 with engine failure at 55K and a repair bill in the $7k range that was 2 months outside of the manufacturer's special service program. My 2010 Prius was t-boned by a pickup truck, crushing both doors on the passenger side. I tried to fix it myself but it's just too much and I can't afford all the parts, nor did I want to part it out and have to dismantle/crate/ship the good pieces of the remains. I contacted damagedcars.com after reading good reviews. They wanted to see pics (I sent the views they requested), and they asked it the car is still drive-able (it is). The next day they emailed an offer to me, which I considered reasonable, considering the alternatives. I know they will make a good profit parting it out or restoring it, and I'm OK with that. All I had to do was reply to the email with the street address where they could pick it up, and attached pics of my driver's license and front and back of the signed title. The next day they sent a local tow truck to get it. The driver wrote 2 checks, since the amount was over $1k. I handed over the key and title, he towed it off. That was it!
