My daughter,Deanna, took me to this small restaurant for lunch today. I had the filet mignon with rice, salad, humus and pita bread. This small place is unpretentious, yet I was served the best Mediterranean food I have ever eaten!! I met Husam and Lina (I assume they were the owners) who prepared my meal and were friendly and genuinely nice people. I will definitely return and tell all my friends about it. I was in Jordan last year and this meal rivaled the awesome meals I had there. Who knew?! My daughter discovered it and was super impressed so she brought me. I cant wait to return to try the chicken and steak combination. We met a couple there who were eating it and they were telling us how good it was. The portion for one is beyond generous and is enough to feed a couple but it's so irresistible I must have it all to myself. The flavor of both shawarma meats is unmatched and that's coming from someone who has had shawarma in a handful of countries. Went here after working and although the space had just few seats to sit at, the food was very good value. They had a kiosk outside to order which made it simple. My boyfriend and I both ordered the beef and chicken combo which comes with 2 sides. He chose the salad and hummus as a side and I chose the tahini and hummus. The worker informed us the food was already drizzled with tahini and asked us if we wanted any other side so we got the salad also. We were shocked at how much food they provided and they even gave us a side of tahini for free. The food was good and the chicken tasted on the sweeter side which I haven't tasted in other middle eastern places before. They were also nice enough to check up on us. This joint is located in a plaza with other lowkey eateries. I love Mediterranean food, so I gathered up my colleagues and came here for lunch on a typical Wednesday at noon. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate, which comes with rice, pita, and two side dishes. I chose hummus and garlic sauce, because, well, why not?! I also ordered a piece of baklava for $1.99. The pita looked and tasted like store-bought pita. It was a bit on the dry side. The garlic sauce is so fluffy! It's mild in taste and and light texture. The rice and hummus are also mild. The chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful! I'd definitely come back for the chicken shawarma itself. The baklava was sweet and delicious, too. It wasn't dry or too flaky, the texture and the consistency was just right. A single person took our orders AND prepared out meals. It was a one-man show, and I must say, I was impressed. He was friendly and thorough. There are no restrooms here for customers. Also, there are no fountain drinks or drinks of that sort. You will be ordering canned or bottled drinks. I was told in advance that the shawarma won't be ready till 1130 put I chose to wait in the car. I've heard some many good things about it so I wanted it to try it To be honest the chicken shawarma lived up to my expectations, It was very juicy and tasteful. The beef Shawarma wasn't as good but it wasn't awful. What set down this rating, is after waiting for 45mins, there wasn't a single apology or a gesture for that long wait. I wasn't expecting a free appetizer or a soda drink god forbid, but a thank you for your wait would have been good. When a restaurant sets its opening hrs at 11am I do expect to be fed within 10-15mins of my arrival specially if I was the only one inside. read more

Not a big fan of the whole tomato in here but not a big deal. I really did not like the salad. The lime juice just tastes very artificial, it ruins it. It tastes like chamoy to me. I don't understand the point of using delicious, fresh ingredients to ruin it with a flavor like this. Fresh lime would be way better. The pita bread also is the super thin pita bread, I prefer fluffy pita. Other than that it's definitely good, but I'll stick to Janets in Duarte. read more
