When I have a craving for some lahmajun this is my go to! A nice little spot to pick up a delicious and quick breakfast. There are many other items that I want to try on the menu. Service is fast and food is good, what's not to like?

Fresh Bakery is my go to place to have a light and delicious breakfast, brunch or light dinner too. I really love this bakery and how everything is very fresh. Whatever you order, it is from the oven to you. Sometimes, I have to wait a couple of minutes until my order is ready. Anoush always encourages me to call in advance to have my order ready by the time I arrive. The ladies who are working there are very sweet and friendly. I love their cheese borek, cheese and spinach,  lahmajun, cheese & Soujuk, maneish, beef borek and chicken borek. Their Dolma is so yummy and really delicious. They have also frozen food (kibbe, and Manty) They have also many desserts and Armenian cookies. I really love their dates cookies. It looks like a little crescent or mini Croissants and filled with dates, soooo good. It is a hidden gem in Covina with excellent service and fresh baked food

Love this authentic Armenian bakery. We are so lucky to have it in Covina, because Burbank is too far lol Came here for a snack/ lunch after grabbing coffee down the street and going to Bert's mega mall. The borek was a perfect delight, as was the lahmujan. We sat inside and enjoyed, super fresh and wonderfully warm 1000% recommend

    Best lunch ever!

Consistently amazing bakes and very reasonable prices. This is what home tastes like.

Awesome hole in the wall place that bakes an assortment of Armenian goodies. I only know of places like this in Pasadena and Glendale, so it's nice to see one closer to home. I called in the morning and placed an order for pick up of their Lahmajun. When I arrived everything was ready to go. One of my co-workers also wanted an order so I placed another while I was there. They make everything fresh so I went shopping in the Middle Eastern market next door until the order was ready. I paid and got my full order and even for some cheese bureq for myself and chatted with the lady (Anoush) in the front. Everyone was friendly and I was happy to find out they also make pomegranate paste Lahmajun, so I'll be calling in for that next time. The Lahmajun was for my boss and co worker so I didn't get a chance to try one and didn't have time to do an order for myself, but I heard it was delicious. The cheese byureq I got was very good, so I highly recommend getting that. Definitely worth stopping by here for some authentic Armenian baked goods.

    Desserts and other delicious treat.

Still 5++++ stars. Everything is made fresh, in house, daily. I recently discovered they make "party size" items so you can get smaller lamacun, zatar, etc which are excellent for big gatherings. The date cookies are my latest favorite item. Can beforehand to make sure they aren't sold out! I love this place!!

I usually get their lahmajune ($1.50), manaish ($1.75), and spicy cheese borek ($4.50). They were still making the majority of their breads so they had plenty of manaish and lahmajune out first. Lots of flavors in the manaish, it's great for a quick snack. The lady is nice. They take card. It's located next to Big Lots.

The employee (owner maybe?) who helped us explained thoroughly about the menu and gave us suggestions. We ended up getting chicken shawarma combo and beef shawarma combo because we were hungry but the portion is humongous!!! This place has a shred style of meat (like al pastor in taco stand) and that's what I got but they should have the grilled meat on a sword looking stainless tool. The beef had the slight lamb-ish flavor which I like and the garlic spread wasn't too strong so I could smother everywhere. The salad was also very very good. I want to learn how to make the dressing. It was insanely good. The restaurant has a small eat in space. 3-4 two persons tables. We took our foods home but if you were to eat inside your food will be served on a wooden tray. I'll be coming back for their Borek and sandwich.

Couple ordered right before us finished eating and left before we even saw them working on our order. We have been coming to Damascquino for a few years now. As they have been one of the few places that opened late to midnight since COVID. I've been here enough times to have tried everything on their menu including all versions of their fries, broasted chicken mean, all the skewer and sides and have never been disappointed...until this last trip. We arrived around 6pm right around dinner service so obviously some wait is expected. There was 3 others that was in front of in line placing their orders. The person manning the counter seems to be newer and unfamiliar, we have never seen him before. It took around 20 minutes for him to take the 3 sets of orders in front of us and ours as well. At this point we got our receipt 6:26pm. Dinner service so we expect about 30 minutes of waiting or so, had a chat with one other person that was waiting for his order. Then starting to see one after another get their order. 3 more come in to place their order after us. The couple that ordered right before us is eating in and sat down at one of the tables inside. They get their order of 2 sandwiches and starts eating. Normally this place starts scooping the rice and sides for the next order to be fulfilled as those are prepared in advance, so as soon as the kabobs are done they can finish packing up and complete the order. We see multiple boxes on the counter waiting for the meat so we expect they were working on our order. The order behind us picks up their order. The next one after picked up their order. The 2 ladies that ordered last sat down and was served ....and no boxes were on the the counter indicating they were working on another order. At this point we are about 40 minutes in, so we walk in asking about ours. The guy turns at looks at the grill, then just says 15 minutes. Once we turned around he then starts to put our sides together completely forgetting our order. At this point we are 45 minutes in waiting, and it had better be the best kabobs we ever had. Finally they call us. 7:23pm. 57 minutes since we were rung up. On top of the lining up we are now about 80 minutes since we arrived. We are obviously frustrated but hey since they didn't have any more orders to work on our kabobs should be perfectly grilled right? COMPLETELY OVERCOOKED. It was chewy, dry, and any resemblance of flavor has been cooked to crap. And they just had the excuse of sorry it was dinner time we were busy, treating as if we are idiots and can't obviously tell they forgot our order. Unfortunately I doubt we will be returning again. For the staff: it's ok if it took a while during dinner service. We get it. It's ok if our order slipped thru the cracks. It happens. But what is absolutely not acceptable is lying about it AND completely screw the cooking up considering you have no more active orders besides ours. We would have been okay if you acknowledged the error and cooked our kabobs to perfection, maybe offer us a drink for the wait time as it barely costs you anything. You see 2 guys standing right outside of your store and have completely zero awareness of MAYBE we might still be waiting for our order?

Disclosure: I've enjoyed Mediterranean cuisine ever since I attended elementary school on the UCLA campus in the early '80s and would get after-school Falafels or Shawarma wraps at the eponymous Falafel King in Westwood Village. Suitably armed with 40-pls yrs of dining experience amid the vast Syrian/Lebanese diaspora, what's a common complaint that grouchy naysayers may wanna level at Mediterranean fare? "Ohh, but all they serve are chicken/beef shawarma, falafel balls and lamb gyros! Not enough varieties of protein!!" [I've fielded this complaint from my grown kids for a few years now] Well- Leave it to your enterprising and innovative Uncle Omar to solve that complaint!!! These new brisket wraps are a wondrous hybrid of Mediterranean housing (the flaky but firm Shrek wrap) and All American (B-R-I-S-K-E-T!!) filling. The caliber of the brisket is top notch. Pull apart tendrils of low and slow cooked beef, sumptuously moist but not overly wet. Well seasoned but not deluged in 'cue sauce that obscures the unctuous beefy flavor... Commingle the brisket, lovingly slow cooked for sixteen hours, with diced onions, succulent tomatoes, Persian pickles and their strong-as-a-Rocky-Balboa haymaker garlic sauce...and you've got yourself a crave-worthy, eminently edible new addition to the Family! The ambiance at Abu Omar remains nonpareil. Luminously clean prep area openly visible so the OCDs among us can see their meal lovingly prepared; Sunburnt burgundy brick walls offset by striking Route 66 imagery; Floors so clean you COULD probably get away w/ the "5 second its still edible" rule we usta summon as kids. The service etiquette of Owner Wissam Shloul and his small but devoted staff is exemplary. Great food, meticulously fabricated while you wait. Pro Tip- Need your Mediterranean fix late at night? Fuggetabout "banker's hours," Abu Omar keeps hospital or casino hours! They're open til 1am, nightly. My meal was $19.01 with taxes.
