Not from this area so we went to Denny's 1st bc it was late. Their cook had quit so they had a limited menu. We saw this place across the street and it looked open. We asked and they were more than happy to serve us! Plus food was the bomb! 1st impression when the employee served us was wow. He was so service oriented and genuine and mentioned to let us know if he could help us w anything. Then the owner approached us to thank us for the patronage. We chatted for a while about the struggles but also satisfaction of running a restaurant during the pandemic. It was awesome to support a family owned business and putting a face to a place. We went today with our three little kids . The owner is very friendly , food was awesome. I have eaten in many middle eastern restaurants in Chicago and LA so I have a difficult time finding the right mediterranean food as I have so much to compare but this place was beyond my expectation. This spot is probably one of the most hospitable restaurants I have ever been to!! They are a family owned company and my friends and I were able to meet and talk with the owner and his family. They currently have some outdoor seating and the wife was so hospitable and catered to our needs when we ate in the outdoor seating area. Definitely something she didn't have to do but did anyways. The food is reasonably priced and I have gone to a lot of Mediterranean fast food places. Other fast food Mediterranean places would usually cost $3-5 more. The portions were good. I got the falafel plate since I'm vegetarian and I was so full and didn't even finish my plate. Their waffle fries are also the best! This is the only place I the area, that I know of, that gives a choice of Pita or Saj bread for your sandwich wraps. The hummus tastes fresh and perfectly seasoned every time I've ordered it.
