Worst meal in a very long time. First, the order took 30 minutes! Then it looked like... well, see for yourself. Both the chicken and the beef were overcooked, dry, cold, and awful tasting. The rice was undercooked and bland. And I waited at the restaurant so you would think it would be hot and fresh - but no! This 30 minute, $30 meal was really terrible. We tried it for the great reviews (something is very wrong there) and were horribly disappointed. We won't be back and suggest you skip it. read more

Wow, our first time here food was great. We tried the Beef Shawarma plate, Falafel and Kibeh. Everything is homemade and super fresh. The owner was very cool and interested in what we thought of the food; he wanted to make sure everything was to our liking and asked that we let him know if there was anything that we needed. So I saw that this little Middle Eastern Café got almost 5 stars thought I would give it a try. Much regret behind my decision as I was forewarned before heading over there that food wasn't too good. But saw the ratings and said well clearly every diner has their own experience. Why don't I try it myself. First of all I have to complement the cleanliness of this little café. It was organized, clean and kitchen wasn't messy or disorganized as smaller eateries sometimes are. Now the food.....The falafel was absolutely not edible. I was so surprised when myself and guests each took a bite. We all agreed. It was flavorless and lacked the one thing that makes falafel special. The spices! It also had zero salt which I guess in some cases it's fine as you can add your own. This made me my mouth feel chalky. So that was a huge disappointment. The rice was dry, plain and not your typical middle eastern rice. More like a simple steamed minute rice. The final blow with the hummos. What!! Why?? How?? How does a middle eastern restaurant miss their staple menu item?? Zero garlic, zero lemon and zero salt. Just garbanzo beans and tahini? My guests told me that the fried kibbeh wasnt bad. So score to them for that. And finally the chicken Shawarma fries. I probably rate this in the middle of the range just because everything just lacked spices. May I make a recommendation to the owner of this establishment to make sure that the fries are extra well done as this would avoid the potatoes from becoming soggy right away. Overall I gave the establishment 2 stars. I hope this restaurant steps it up a bit and improve the recipe on what I mentioned above. I'll be looking out for reviews of this establishment later and may give them a retry if I know they improved. read more

This place is definitely deserving of all its 5-star reviews! My boyfriend and I decided to get some Mediterranean for his birthday and I'm so glad we found this place. We decided to go all out and order a family meal (feeds 4-6 people) and some shawarma fries. We got there early and there was only one man working but we didn't mind waiting. The atmosphere was so welcoming and you could tell that, even though the man was a little busy with our order and another online order, he definitely loved his job and loved to socialize with his customers. Aside from the amazing customer service, the food was even more incredible. All of the meat was delicious and cooked very well. The Kafta was our favorite of the platter; the shawarma fries with tahini was soooo good. I didn't think I would ever be typing this but next time I'm in the mood for some asada fries, I might go for some shawarma fries instead. Will definitely be coming here again! This food might smell good but it's very unsanitary. You don't touch your mask while you're prepping food or money for that matter.

The meal was incredible. My entire family got the beef kabobs and were in complete ecstacy while eating. The beef was no ordinary beef. It was like filet minion, juicy and easy to cut. With a nice nbq esque char on the outside. It is absolutely perfect and cooked with love. The meal cost roughly 20 per person, but truly I would easily spend more. The rice was incredible as well. I dont even know how to describe it. I would say buttery and delicious, but I don't know if butter is used? The hummus has a nice bite to it, I don't know how to describe it, but there is a delicious, yet strong taste permiating from it. I am no expert in hummus, so it's difficult to identify the flavor, all I know is every person at the table was in disbelief by how good it was. The salad is another huge winner, light and refreshing. Truly, if you don't give this place a try you are missing out on an amazing meal and a local hot spot. If you are from Glendora / Covina and you don't know of Damasquino, shame on you.... :P JK... BUT SERIOUSLY, SHAME ON YOU ;) As for the ambiance, it's a small dining room but clean. The owner is standing behind the counter, ready to provide the best service possible. In addition, the presentation of the meal was top notch. You can tell this owner not only loves his food but also his customers and wants to give everyone a memorable experience. At the end of our meal, we got to meet his family and adorable little boy. Who made sure to give us all high fives. I left Damasquino tonight, almost sad, because I am leaving for 3 weeks for vacation. And now what will I eat for the next few weeks? This is hands down the BEST Mediterranean food I have ever had!! Yelp recommended it to me and I'm so glad I came down for date night. It is a tiny establishment with a few tables, and a very friendly man named Rony. We had no idea what to order so he recommended the chicken shawarma sandwich, the falafel sandwich and the Soujook. All of which were AMAZING. We were the only people there on a Sunday night so Rony was so nice and friendly and explained what everything was and what went into which sandwich and gave us options on what to put in the sandwiches but we told him to make it exactly as he would for himself. The Falafel was hands down my favorite, he said vegetarians or people who don't eat meat which was AMAZING. The falafel itself feels like meat, it's something I could eat EVERYDAY. There was only chicken left bc we came at end of night which was fine, we will come back again for the beef, clearly it's a winner bc they were sold out! read more

I used to love this place. It was the only place around that actually served shawarma how in the middle east is served, i am not sure if the owner changed. My first experince was prior to covid back in 2020 which made me love. I cam back to support a few weeks ago and needless to say it was very disappointing. I am not sure if there was an ownership change, but i was very sad to see the closest flavor to home vanish. The meat was dry and a bit burnt. I think for the price the minum would be a quality.
