I have such anxiety of dentist that I haven't had a teeth cleaning in 35 years and last emergency service was done 20 yrs ago. I made a New Years resolution to go to the dentist and find out what I needed to do to restore my teeth. I chose Dr. Waring because , I was told he is gentle. I'm soooo happy with Dr. Waring, he is soooo gentle and made my fear and anxiety better. Dr. Lubbers is an amazing dentist (I'm guessing that's partly due to the fact that she graduated from a top school in San Francisco) and I couldn't be happier with the care I've been receiving. She's so down to earth and just a talented person. You can find a binder in the waiting room full of pictures of her amazing work (she's a cosmetic dentist). Of all my 32 years of life, no other dentist pointed out that my teeth were wearing out due to teeth grinding while sleeping. She caught that problem and suggested a night guard. Thanks to her, I was able to do something and prevent further damage. Her office is clean and cozy, with great decor, magazines, free wifi and nice refreshments in the waiting room. You'll even find the restroom pleasant. Her staff is so nice, professional and efficient. The receptionist is always welcoming and has great knowledge of the practices and procedures of the office and always has been able to answer all of my questions in regards to fees and insurance. The hygienist always gives me feedback about my teeth and she's always thorough at cleaning. I haven't met one person I didn't like. I feel like they all care. Another plus is sometimes, when possible, Dr. Lubbers will adjust the prices of some procedures according to the work load to save you a couple of bucks. Dr.Waring is the best dentist I've ever had. Truly a friendly smile ready to help you fix yours. I had an emergency on a back molar that lost the fillings that needed to be extracted. Dr.Waring made sure to message me over the weekend that there was a cancellation just so I could get in immediately and get my pain relieved. Lack of transparency....and overhead is what I think.. I came in with a cracked tooth, Delta Dental Insurance. Yep, it has to be extracted..OK..after the Dentist broke it off, he had to drill, drill, and drill some more..finally got it out, had to put a stitch in due to all of the drilling..no big deal, had this done before..paid my $103 co-pay and off I went...then I get a check from Delta for $178, and a bill from Damonte Ranch Dental Care...for $328...for a "surgical extraction"..oh, sorry we are not a Delta Provider..ya think I should have been told this...and by the way..if you are going to change the cost and procedure in the middle of something, you should tell the patient...but I suppose you have that lease and pretty office to pay for..right? read more

While my permanent crown was being constructed I broke my temporary crown 4 times and every time Dr Lubbers and her staff (especially Ashley) would fit me in ASAP. ProTip: Do not threaten to charge a cancellation fee to a new patient that has never walked in your door. I had to cancel my appointment this morning due to a family situation. As a Brand NEW patient I did this as a courtesy... let's face it, I could have just not shown up and rescheduled or found another dentist... but I didn't. I made the huge mistake of calling. I was informed that I owed them a cancellation fee. A cancellation fee? I never signed my name to anything... in fact, you don't even have my address! This dentist lost the business of my entire family. For what gain? 20 bucks? read more

I have seen a lot of dentist over the years as I have moved all over the USA. Dr. Lubbers is by far the worst I've ever been to. I'm not sure how she can be in business for all these years. I feel that she fundamentally does not respect her patients, and does not care about them either. These are the problems I had with Dr. Lubbers: 1. Did an extra filling without my consent. It was planned for another visit. I should have been asked. 2. The appointment was scheduled for 2 hours. It took 3 hours and 20 minutes. 3. Dr. Lubbers disappeared twice. She told me that she had to quickly go check on another patient and she'd be right back. Each time what to just check on another patient, but actually was gone quite some time. So, I was lied to actually. One time it was over 30 minutes, the first time was about 20 minutes. 4. Due to the extended length of the appointment and leaving the room to treat other patients caused my numbness to go away several times. I don't know how many booster numbing shots I actually received. The test to see if I was still numb was to start working and indicate if it hurt or not. Most times it hurt and I needed more shots. I am not happy with this. If you start the job finish the job without interruption. 5. Dental assistant was rough. She appeared to be inexperienced and sometimes put suction etc in my mouth that pinched my skin and hurt quite a number of times and didn't really be paying attention at times. 6. Assistant and Dr. Lubbers did not appear to get along. Dr. Lubbers was certainly not happy with her performance (neither was I). I see this as a reflection of the office as a whole. 7. Hygienist who had cleaned my teeth had only worked less than a year at this office. Combine this with the assistant and it makes me wonder about the support staff overall competency and experience. 8. Dr. Lubbers asking me conversational questions while he hands are in my mouth. Really? I can barely say "yes or no" with all that stuff in my mouth. 9. Dr. Lubbers insulted the whiteness of my teeth. I wish I could recall what was exactly said, but it was said as if she could not tell I had done whitening before. She need to work on her bedside manner that is for sure. 10. Dr. Lubbers sometimes mumbled under the mask. Assistant could not understand her sometimes, and sometimes I could not either. Not a big issue here though. 11. Price. I paid cash in advance for 2 sessions. However, I cancelled the 2nd session and promptly refunded. 12. Lack of good equipment. I went to another dentist and they had all crown making equipment in house. Dr Lubbers did not. That would have meant 2 week delay and putting temporary crown in. Also, her prices were about 20% more than my other dentist. 13. Recommended a night guard that my new dentist advised me I did not need. Things I liked: Receptionist called me to tell me that the appointment would be delayed 30 minutes. I appreciated that. Waiting area is very clean and professional. Bathrooms very clean. read more

It's been a really, really long time since I've been to the dentist, and it's been even longer since I've had fun at a dental appointment. Since this was a first time visit I made an appointment for an exam, x-Rays, and a cleaning. Despite my being late, they welcomed me with smiles and positivity, and took me back right away. The cleaning was very gentle and the hygienist made sure to ask if I was comfortable. The doctor is awesome! She popped in to introduce herself while the wonderful dental assistant took my x rays and instantly made a great impression. Later, during my exam, we joked and talked, and she took her time checking each tooth and giving her suggestions. Seriously, everyone was super nice! It was extremely refreshing. I will definitely be back, especially since I have many cavities ;), but most importantly because I feel comfortable there. Because I am a new patient, the appointment took about 3 hours, so if you are a working individual or have time constraints, I would suggest doing this exam and the cleaning separate. read more

Dr. Lubbers is very kind, knowledgeable and personable. My husband thinks she is a great dentist - and he always had anxiety in the past when going to other dentists. She has a gentle touch for those that have anxiety at the dentist. She has a very nice accessible office in South Reno. She offers occasional Saturday appointments for those that have to work Monday through Friday. She also offers early appts. (7am) on Fridays. read more
