Called to see which location had the biggest assortment of JMM frames and they were generous with their time searching inventory and offering comp styles. When I went in to buy they were very kind letting us try dozens of styles before we landed on the one. Best yet, we asked if it was possible to rush the lenses for a special event, they kept me informed along all the steps and were able to finish the glasses in time. I went all over LA to look at frames and hit paydirt at Dan Deutsch. From the minute I entered the DD world I was given excellent customer service guiding me through a well curated choice of frames. Ann quickly assessed my face shape and what would look the best on me. She listened to what I wanted and within minutes we had narrowed down the choices to a top 3. I had the rare customer experience of being heard by Ann, and there was no sense of being hard sold but rather fully supported. After careful deliberation and trying on umpteen frames at several places I can say without hesitation it was DD where I happily chose my frame. I went in for a frame adjustment today and was given the treat of Dan himself making the adjustment. It was fast and I learned some tips on how to keep my glasses securely upon my face too! Not just great optical advice and service, but this company deserves a shout out for its support of victims of LA Wildfires (January 2025). I heard through a friend who has used their services with great satisfaction for years that they were offering a free pair of eyeglasses to the first thousand victims who lost their eyeglasses in the fire. I lost mine in the Palisades Fire, but was close to the store near Grove on Third Street. Laura is the consultant and optician there, and she couldn't have been nicer or more supportive in my hour of need. She spent a lot of time with me (had to hear my stories of loss, not just focus on my optical needs!). The lens selection that they were willing to give away to fire victims was impressive, and Laura gave me the benefit of her experience and good taste. I'm very happy with my new glasses. When I was in neighborhood I stopped by to see if 1000 victims came in for free glasses. Indeed they did; what did the management do? Extended the program and gave away more free glasses. I got a new prescription but wanted to reuse my beloved Anne et Valentin frames. Kaiser Permanente's optician said they didn't have the tools to work on them, so I looked for an optician that carried that brand. I visited the Dan Deutsch store in Studio City and was very happy with my experience. Tammie was very knowledgeable and helpful. Best of all, because the lab that services all their stores is located in the Studio City shop, I was able to keep wearing my glasses while they made the new lenses. Only a week after my first visit, the new lenses were ready. I returned to the store and they changed out my lenses on the spot. I'll definitely go back next time my prescription changes. read more
