I'm honestly blown away by JINS. I've always just gone through my optometrist for glasses, and this time I was quoted around $700 for a frame (granted, it was a nicer designer one), plus another $550 just to add my prescription--even after insurance and basic upgrades like blue light filtering. It felt insane. Then I found JINS randomly strolling down abbot kinney, and the difference is unreal. Their frames are actually stylish and super affordable, but the craziest part? The prescription lenses are INCLUDED for free. No hidden fees, no add-ons stacking up.. I even added a rosy cheek tint to my lenses for about $100, which I've literally never seen offered anywhere else. Such a unique touch and it actually looks amazing in person. It feels like they completely rethought how glasses should be priced and designed. Super innovative, transparent, and genuinely worth it. I purchased a pair of glasses for my 11-year-old son in September 2025. The young woman who helped us at the time was friendly and professional, and the glasses were ready within an hour. My son loved them. A couple of months later, one of the screws on the frame loosened and fell out. We returned to the store, and the issue was fixed within about 20 minutes at no charge. The woman who helped us was polite and helpful. Unfortunately, the same issue happened again. In January, the screw loosened once more, causing one of the lenses to fall out and break. This time, our experience was completely different. The man assisting us showed no empathy or apology despite this being the second time we returned for the same problem. Instead, he blamed my 11-year-old son, suggesting he didn't know how to properly wear or remove his glasses. His tone was condescending and dismissive, which was unacceptable. We were told the lens needed to be replaced at a cost of $90, were promised the glasses would be ready in 30 minutes, and that we would receive a text when they were ready. After waiting over an hour with no text, we returned to the store only to find the glasses had been ready but no notification was sent. To make matters worse, the same employee again lectured my son on how to wear and remove his glasses, stating, "Glasses only belong on your face or in the case, nowhere else." He then added that if we returned again with issues, there would be additional charges, as if he were doing us a favor -- despite us paying for a replacement lens and dealing with repeated defects and poor service. This employee's behavior was unprofessional and far below the standard of every other staff member we've interacted with at JINS. I've been a loyal JINS customer since purchasing my first pair in Osaka after graduating college, and I've recommended the brand to others, including my son. Unfortunately, this experience has shown me that I can find better quality glasses and far better customer service elsewhere. JINS has lost a loyal customer. read more

I was in the area and decided to stop by to have my recently purchased frames adjusted because they had been giving me headaches. The staff were fantastic--so patient, attentive, and genuinely helpful. They carefully adjusted my frames and even recommended adding disposable nose pads to improve the fit and comfort. They included them at no extra charge, and the difference was immediate. I really appreciated the excellent customer service and the extra care they took to make sure my glasses fit comfortably. This location was twice as far than the nearest JINS but I drove down just because of the good reviews I read and I wasn't disappointed. They over exceeded my expectations. Jose was the one to help me at the store. He must've brought out around 10 frames for me to look at. I never felt rushed. These people don't care about customers after the sale is made. My boyfriend asked about replacing missing sunglasses. "Sorry. No longer make them." His very expensive glasses broke while he was just sitting and reading. "Sorry: they're broken and we can't fix them. Also, they're four months out of warranty. Want to buy some new ones?" Sorry not sorry. They couldn't care less. I asked them if they can't stand behind their products: "We do." What would they do about his glasses? "We can't do anything." read more

I saw a social media ad and came in. I hate myself for that, but I'm also so glad I fell for it. The selling point for me was that their glasses won't slide off your nose. For Asians, this is always a major issue. I have 3 Warby Parkers and all 3 I have jimmied with various tools to keep it on my face. They barely work. I also have other no name brands. I bought a cheap pair in Korea and those were fine, but I wanted to find a place locally so I can get future pairs here rather than travel for them. So I came in and was able to try on everything that caught my eye. I narrowed it down to one and the process was simple! You scan the QR code for purchase and then a sales associate helps you through the process of getting it filled on the spot. We bought these with our FSA card. The price you see listed is what you pay for it including the prescription (as long as you don't do anything extra like blue light filters, etc.). I did just the base one because all I need them for is sitting in front of my computer. So after you purchase it, they say come back in 30 minutes and scan the QR code at the locker. We did and the locker door pops open and voila, you have your glasses! I LOVE mine. I'm so happy with these. They are lightweight, stay on my nose and look great. I loved the frames so much I also bought sunglasses. I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

Happy to have walked in search of new glasses and walked out experiencing great service from Tiff who helped walk me through a dozen or so glasses trying to find the best fit for my face and my needs. With the help of Elena and Jose, we were able to pick a pair of glasses. I would have walked away with glasses but with my prescription and the type of lenses I wanted, I had to settle for delivery. I do love that there is an option for same day pick up though! The amount and variety of frames were awesome and it's so cool that they have collaborations with One Piece and others. Quick service with lots of unique frames. I lived that their sunglass lenses come in unique shades. I picked a dark green which made me look unique. Jose was very helpful when picking the frames I wanted to buy. Tiffany helped when I picked up the glasses and made sure they fit snug. I have a high prescription so was recommended the Ultra Thin Lense add on for an additional $300. When the glasses came, the lenses were extremely thick and unsightly, warping my entire face. I've tried returning my glasses and contacting them but they are super unresponsive and unhelpful. When brought in store, they just told me that the lenses were made correctly and that's how it's supposed to look. I basically wasted $500 on these glasses. Would not recommend if you have higher eye prescriptions. Would love to get more help with returning this product. read more

I came into this glasses shop really wanting to purchase a new pair of glasses and also needed to use the restroom. The staff member who greeted me was very friendly and helpful. I explained that I needed to use the restroom, and they mentioned that customers usually aren't allowed to use it but since another customer was already using it, it would be okay for me to go right after. While I was there, the glasses I wanted weren't in stock, but the staff member went above and beyond to help me order them online so I could pick them up once they arrived. Everything was going smoothly until right after I placed the order...the same staff member told me I actually couldn't use the restroom after all because of a manager's policy. I could tell the employee felt uncomfortable telling me that, which made the whole situation even more confusing and disappointing. It just didn't feel right that another customer was allowed to use the restroom, but I was denied, especially after I had just placed an order and was giving them my business. I left feeling disappointed and a bit frustrated. The staff member was kind, but the inconsistency and lack of customer consideration really left a bad impression. I hope management reconsiders their policy....small moments like this can completely change how someone feels about returning. read more

I recommended my Boyfriend to try Jins since I had the best experience in Jins Japan. I was naive to think the US Jins could emulate a similar experience. This Jins sucks, they told us the glasses would be ready in 1 week and it's been almost 3. If we knew it would take so long we would have ordered elsewhere. One of the employees did the shadiest thing. We visited 10/18/2025 at 12:00pm, and the entire time the lady said these glasses are able to be retuned within 30 days. My boyfriend was inbetween 2 pairs and she said just try one of them and if you don't like it no worries as it is a 30 day full refund/return. She said it many many times. Then the second we pay, she says "sorry these are final sale since you paid with your HSA." 1st of all, she knew we were paying with HSA because she is the one who told us that was even a possibility AND she had to get a separate card reader from her office. She also told us because we are using HSA push "credit" on the pay machine to bypass the pin requirement. In NONE of those moments did she think to mention final sale. My boyfriend then said politely "you should have told us it was final sale" and she said "well I didn't know you were using HSA"... girl wtf??? No apology nothing, just her lying and not taking accountability. So we said ok... can we change the payment method to credit card then? And she said NO, they can't return to an HSA program. Overall left a bad feeling with us, I do not appreciate the dishonesty. read more

First time getting glasses and wasn't sure what type would look good on me. Dropped by Jins on a whim and was glad I did. I met Tiffany there and she was great! I liked her style and knew I could trust her opinion. I told her what I was looking for, and she had me try on a bunch of different ones and then after thinking about it, she grabbed a pair that looked great on me. Frames that I wouldn't have ever thought about trying on. I got them a few days ago and really like them. Shopped at JINS in Japan and had my heart set on a pair that I didn't get. Saw they had a location up in LA and came up. Nearly the same experience, just not, um, in Japanese. Got a lens swap for a pair of glasses and a second pair frames + lenses. Jose helped me earlier in the week over the phone/email AND happened to be there instore and legit couldn't have been more helpful. 5/22/2026: update. I needed my glasses adjusted. They would slip down my nose and the bottom of the lenses would cut into my cheeks. A couple days earlier, I called the store and spoke to Jose to let him know about the issue I was having. He was very patient and understanding. He indicated that they could probably fix it and to just come in when I could so they could take a look. Today I stopped by in the afternoon. I got there right when they were on lunch break so we just grabbed a bite to eat nearby to pass the time. Once the store opened back up it was a little busy but we just waited about 10 to 15 minutes for Jose to take a look at my glasses. It turns out that he had the same model of glasses and suggested changing the nose pads from titanium to silicone as they provide a better grip. It only took a few minutes for him to change out the nose pads, but the glasses felt so much better! Jose thanked us for our patience as they were a little short staffed today. He made sure the glasses fit well and polished up the lenses before giving them back to me. No charge for changing the nose pads either. Another example of the amazing customer service here. I highly recommend this Jins location! I saw they had a bunch of great reviews on Google and decided to take my chances and see if someone there could help me. I had a really bad experience at the Santa Anita Jins and this is the 2nd time they've disappointed me. I got a new pair of glasses earlier this year that was made crooked. I tried telling the girl at the Santa Anita Jins that it was off-balance. She brushed me off and said it was straight. After being gaslit into wearing the glasses for several months and always feeling like I was cross eyed, decided to make the 1 hr drive to Venice to see if someone could help me. Tiffany helped me out with readjusting and she's absolutely amazing! There was a huge difference in my glasses when I tried them on after all her help. I never realized how badly the glasses were straining my eyes before until she fixed them! She's absolutely a lifesaver and so patient and kind! Any future pairs of Jins that I want I will only buy from this location from now on! read more
