What a relaxing, restorative, and educational experience! I haven't had a facial in a decade (maybe more), and Dana was kind, patient, totally judgment free, and made me feel oh-so-comfortable - to the point I nearly snoozed. I have very sensitive, dry 40-sumfn skin that's built up a pesky layer of armor that had me feeling pretty helpless. After getting to know my skin, Dana shared some very helpful suggestions and knowledge with me that have already improved the texture and look of my skin. There's a reason this magical woman has never gotten less than 5 stars ! Dana is absolutely amazing. When you walk in, her space is so calming and beautiful. She spends time talking about your specific skincare goals and will give her feedback on recommendations. She is incredibly warm and knowledgeable. Then for the actual facial- WOW! I got the signature facial, she is so talented. Best thing I've never done for myself. She also does a really amazing massage, steaming, etc. I tend to have dry skin and left with the softest my skin has ever felt. I also have very sensitive skin, she took that into consideration. All of the products she uses are very high quality and don't have any nasty ingredients. Sooo, I've been going to Dana since 2013, 2014 (?!) back when she was at Soothe. (BTW, she literally had the most ridiculous Yelp reviews at Soothe, which is why I initially booked w/ her.) I heart Dana. I discovered Dana when she was the Senior Esthetician at Soothe out in Hayes Valley. I was suffering from adult cystic acne and my face became overly sensitive from the repeated use of name brand acne treatment products. I consulted my doctor but decided against consuming medication to treat my acne. Then Dana came in and saved the day. She's like a Jedi! She figured out the source of my acne- turns out my latte habit is the cause and that oil free products are not good for oil prone skin! I've taken breaks when my budget didn't allow for facials, and she totally gets it. She's just happy to see me when I show up again. I've been a consistent (every 2 months) customer for about 6 years now. She has improved my skin tremendously. She finally convinced me to stop using Retin-A and to moisturize my skin more (with oil!), and my skin has never looked better. I get compliments all the time. I have been seeing Dana for several years and am totally commited to her facials. She recently started her own practice. So, naturally I moved with her to the Mission. Great location beautiful private little studio. Well appointed and very comfortable. I like that all Dana's products are organic and plant based as apposed to a bunch of chemicals. I get a great result without stripping my face off. I often take some product home with me. The products are pricey but worth the cost. I like that she uses a local small business as her product supplier. It's hands down the best moisturizer I have had. Extractions are my least favourite part of the session. Dana, is quick and talks you through it to make it easier to endure. I am addicted to my once a month being good to myself session. I know it works because post session people often comment on my glow. So, go get your own glow you won't regret it. read more

If I could give Dana 10+ stars I would! She has been an absolute game changer for my skin and is absolutely wonderful as well! I discovered Dana a few years ago at a previous studio, yet she has since started her own studio and the space is cozy, quiet (even for the Mission!), comfortable and convenient. Dana's customized approach to skin care has really changed my skin. Once I turned 30, my face became dry, after being super oily my whole life, sensitive to everything and I couldn't find good organic/holisitic skin care products that didn't turn my face red and irritate my skin. Enter Dana and her expertise. She only uses the highest quality skin care products and will only recommend products that she knows will actually help your skin. Dana is awesome at listening to your concerns, no matter how small, and will always address them. Okay wow. Where to begin. Dana has magical powers and is a witch of the greatest variety. I've always had good skin but awhile back, I started having an issue where my forehead was filled with microbumps. It persisted for a couple months. I decided I'd try my first facial and found Dana on Yelp when she was still at Studio Soothe (look at their page and search her name to see all her AMAZING reviews). Not kidding, the bumps cleared up immediately after my first visit. She also put me on a new routine with the most amazing products - all natural, luxurious, left my skin feeling absolutely amazing.
