actually insane. probably the best froyo i've had in sf. like a hidden gem spot tucked away in a nice grocery store. they still have some seating inside though. staff was nice she was helpful and answered my questions about some of their toppings i still slightly prefer culture in nyc for the texture of their honey and the tartness, but if i get no toppings i'd prefer this. it's not super tart froyo, more creamy with the right amount of sweetness. i recommend the regular size instead of mini! i was so close to going back for another one read more

I finally got a chance to come back and try the frozen yogurt after seeing the hype celebrating this spot for having the best froyo in SF! Unfortunately I didn't really like the flavor as it's creamy but also pretty sweet without the satisfaction of ice cream. I got the macerated strawberry topping with my froyo and even just a mini was too much for me. I like my froyo more tart but this one was just sweet and I honestly thought it was a weird in-between frozen yogurt and ice cream and I'd just prefer traditional versions of those over this. The Mission District in San Francisco has many corner liquor stores. Throughout the Mission it's the first choice and last resort to buy alcoholic drinks , chips, candies , and food. You will find the same types of liquor at these corner liquor stores with bottles of Hennessy, Patron, E&J , beer, and malt liquor like the Steel Reserve 211. It's not the healthiest places to go. One place on the corner of 16th and Valencia has lots of healthier alternatives to corner stores of the Mission and it's in the Mission. The Foodhall is like the corner store modernized and reimagined to have healthier options. Instead of cheesy Doritos tortilla chips they have Non GMO Morenita tortilla chips. Instead of hostess cup cakes they have fresh baked goods which are actually flakey like some bakeries in SF. They also have of bottles of champagne and wine available . Foodhall offers organic foods. You will find fruits and vegetables and the self proclaimed best Frozen Yogurt ever. The only drawback is its closes way before midnight. Okay, I've had enough: I'm coming back! We did a TGTG bag and did Foodhall deliver: Ice cream scoop sizes of both egg salad and tuna salad (the tuna with capers, squeal!); two pastries, one savory and one sweet; a smaller baguette sandwich of egg salad and roasted red pepper and a full loaf of freshly baked seeded, sliced bread. Does San Francisco need another bougie grocery store? Yes- if it's as good as Foodhall! The olive oil and sea salt was honestly a bit much, I was expecting a floral kick like salt & straw's but this tasted a bit too much like straight olive oil and sea salt. I didn't really find anything interesting in the market itself, mainly because of the price tags on the items. They have a ton of specialty items and organic foods. I was, however, drawn to the glass case of pastries. They offer tons of yummy goods like kouign amanns, cookies, etc, and the price is about what you'd find at other bakeries in the bay. I tried the mochi muffins, which are from Third Culture in Berkeley. I tried the original and the green tea and was happy with both, though I liked the original a bit more. These mochi muffins have a crunchy exterior and the interior has that soft, chewiness that we love in mochi. Flavors were on point and these aren't very sweet, for those who like more subtle desserts. Glad you could actually taste the green tea! I love a good bargain. More Grocery Outlets please... Not going to lie, when I first read about Foodhall last year, I couldn't roll my eyes hard enough. They were replacing a mom and pop bodega where locals in the area would go to fill their fridge and pantry without going bankrupt. Hello, 10 limes for $1! We were having a GNO at ABV when my gf scored parking nearby, right in front of Foodhall. I saw on Yelp that they served Italian Froyo so we decided to try some before heading back home. Foodhall is an upscale food market (like a mini The Market in the Twitter building) selling coffee, pastries, cheese, charcuterie, caviar, bone broth, pantry staples: oils, vinegars, condiments, bougie snacks: truffle chips, artisan chocolates, ice cream pints (Slocombe and Jeni's), pressed juices, craft beer, wine, and small batch liquors. I also saw a lot of vegan items. This is not a place to do your weekly grocery shopping at. It's a place to pop in if you live in the area, have no price restrictions AND need something last minute like a nice bottle of wine, cheese, and crackers. As to be expected, Foodhall is overpriced...but if you live nearby and if the only way you're going to get that girl to Netflix and chill is with black truffle popcorn, some bubbly, and a long stem rose, then Foodhall will be you're saving grace (they have beautiful long stem roses). My gfs and I raided their snack section for Torres and Oolala truffle chips which is $1-2 more per a bag than other places but when you're having mad drunchies, you just dgaf. The thing to COME for and GET at Foodhall is their Italian Froyo made with organic straus milk. Get it in a cup or in one of their flavored cones (e.g. blue corn, lavender, birthday cake), and top it with chocolate hazelnut sauce, nuts, maple bacon (not available when we went), and/or maldon sea salt. It starts at $3.50 for a small and toppings are $1.50 each. I got a small Italian froyo in a lavender cone with chocolate hazelnut sauce, toasted hazelnuts, sea salt: http://bit.ly/2spZC0L. BEST froyo I've ever had - perfectly dense and creamy with a nice balance of sweet and tart. There were no air pockets and it didn't melt quickly. Don't bother with the lavender cone (too floral) or any of the toppings because the froyo is such high quality that it's best enjoyed in its purest form. Lolia S., the undisputed froyo queen would approve. And, I like that they had a large table in the back so we could enjoy our froyo while listening to AWESOME R&B jams from the late 2000s - Ne-Yo, Rihanna, and Chris Brown. Props to whoever put that playlist together. No restrooms though which sucks. Foodhall is not a place I would frequent because of the high prices and terrible parking but when in the area, I would definitely pick their froyo over going to CREAM next door or Bi-Rite Creamery (5 stars for the froyo & 3 stars for the market itself). The olive oil adds a bit of earthiness, while the crunchy, flaky maldon sea salt balances out the sweet yogurt, making this combination to die for. It is so creamy and smooth, just the most luxurious texture in your mouth. They have one flavor of yogurt, but a few other fun toppings like: chocolate hazelnut sauce, toasted almonds, maple bacon. I've gotten the toasted almonds, the chocolate drizzle, bee pollen, and the strawberries. So far the toasted almond and strawberry topping are my favorites! Chocolate was just okay. Stock higher end things, so not cheap, but solid selection of food and drinks, fast/friendly service, and great location. It's also a great place to try out new/experimental/imported products. I've discovered several products that I love here (e.g. Taika, Kimono, The Fine Cheese Co crackers, etc.), which sometimes they don't even stock anymore (e.g. Hayden Flour Mills Crackers). Foodhall is a high end grocery store in the Mission. We came here on a Saturday about a month ago after stopping at the Everlane boutique. We came for the Mochi Muffins, which are lightly sweet, and have the chewy texture of mochi. Ours had sesame seeds, and we really enjoyed it. There is seating here at a communal Ikea table inside the store, and I only regret that we didn't buy more food. The store is San Francisco prices, and by that I mean it's expensive but so is everything else. They stock local brands and the place is lovely. read more

Went into Foodhall because I noticed the sandwich board style sign on Valencia & 16th St. It's a small food market with coffee, alcohol, frozen yogurt, pastries, some fruit, long-stemed roses and a small dining area. Guy told me they've been open a few months, I missed out on here that news and I did walk Sunday Streets, my excuse was I was walking on the street most of it. He gave me a small sample of the frozen yogurt and I liked it. He offered some toppings to the people after me, but I had already finished mine, bummer. Next time I'll ask for a sample of the toppings. They have a good selection of expensive chocolate bars: Dandelions, Tcho, Ginger Elizabeth, etc. Saw Inna Jams stuff, Acme bread, lots of cheeses too. It's hard to figure out who this upscale market is targeting because it strikes me that most of the locals at 16th and Valencia are drawn to the Mission's ethnically diverse, working-class markets to which this appears the diametric opposite. I mean the area's vibrant rainbow shoppers and picked-over sidewalk produce bins are a huge part of the geographic appeal, right? That's why I scratched my head the first time I entered this store since it looked like a Dean & Deluca knock-off with think concrete floors, bright white walls, blonde wood and lots and lots of lighting. I thought I was on Manhattan's Upper West Side arguing with the fishmonger as to whether the sea urchin was fresh enough for my personal sushi chef to use for a dinner party I was throwing for a hundred of my closest friends in the top 2%. Well, it's not that hoity-toity, but you get the drift. It was the brainchild of two former investment bankers from London, Bilal Mannaa and Yasamin Murtadha, which may explain why there appears to be little effort in making this Eurocentric shop reconcile with the rest of the bodegas in the Mission. Presentation and sourcing are the key factors that separate the inventory here from any other grocery store in the area, and of course, that impacts the prices they charge.
