Just to start, I'm not a huge fan of sweets or bread. I came on a Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised by the large selection of pastries available at 3pm. The staff are very attentive, kind, and informative. The shop with no place to sit and enjoy the food but there are a lot of parks and cafes nearby to enjoy the sweets. I had gotten a few different croissants and a slice of cake-- admittedly, it was a little too decadent (the whole bag was oily after one hour) for me but the taste was great.

    Pistachio raspberry eclair $8.95

I read about KC Paris Desserts in SFIst and the Infatuation and knew I had to come. A Black-owned bakery in the Fillmore offering a taste of France? J'adore! They bake fresh croissants and new pastries each time each morning. Service was just divine. So friendly! They were with a smile the whole time I was there (which was a long time because I couldn't decide what to order.) I finally landed on the Pistachio raspberry eclair ($8.95) which they recommended and it was delicious. There's no indoor seating, but on the same block (I think it is) there's some outdoor seating outside a large apartment building. The Parisian decor was very cute. I will be back to try more baked goods as well as a croque monsieur (or madame.) J'aime!

Almond chocolate croissant. $6.95. Tasty & fresh, but a bit on the small side. Not a lot of chocolate filling.

Cute pastry shop with a wide variety of tasty & unique Parisian delights! I tried the almond/chocolate croissant, chocolate/caramel macaron, and pistachio/raspberry eclair. Everything was packed with flavor, with the eclair being the standout. The ratio of cream filling to pastry was just right. Everything is baked fresh, and you can tell by the results that it is a labor of love for the owner. I thought the specialty pastries were reasonably priced at $8.95 each, given the amount of care & decoration that went into them. The croissant was good, and competitively priced at $6.95, but I felt it was a bit on the small side. I also would have liked a little more chocolate...it was maybe less than 5% of the filling. Stiff competition at other bakeries in the city on that one! IMO, this place shines on the specialty options. Don't sleep on that pistachio eclair!

Scoring parking in the city is like a victory in life. I wanted to pump my fist, 'yes', but someone might think I was off... you know what I mean. After finding a space to pick up a meal for a visiting friend to try, I parked literally in front of this bakery. I don't remember how long it's been since I've been at that restaurant but it must be longer than eight months when this place opened. I walked in and my jaw dropped in seeing the counter cases and front display, though much of the latter was bare. Being overwhelmed by the selection, I walked both cases before picking items to bring home. The baked goods in the display were mainly my breakfast items for the next few days, a mix of sweet and savory ones. Wanting to try something fresh first, I tried the apple turnover (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=WMilVQJy_vA53_EDjweKqw). I started with the cheese croissant (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=E9oW_TqOkmqXFk0GDMm1Pg) which I reheated in my toaster oven. The flavors were soothing and the pastry was not overly buttery. The next morning, I had the French classic Croque Monsieur (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=V57ctoJgUB_HEUCgeNkStA). Having meat in this one, this was definitely better after reheating. I then tried the chocolate chip and M&M cookie (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=C6sPgMMLKXPmu5a9AYmd3A) which was a nice snack between meals. The next breakfast was the chocolate banana croissant (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=B_vcc2WKykQRTJsbUVzIlA); the filling (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=S7jOtA9nIUdlAAYwantgXw) ingredients paired well. The next morning, I tried the chocolate pear croissant (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=HpQmsBHsJbs4emQZdbZNBQ) which was good but didn't particularly stand out. Of the refrigerated items, I started with the black forest cake (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=t5tu0HXnaokOxO_uKg1UNw). I gradually finished my other purchases in the next few days, the chocolate caramel tart (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=t6u6dzt6BOqlhxMs_7RSQA), peach tartelette (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=r8gGwgIzFaxjoR8BIPz0PQ), and peanut caramel chocolate chip cookie (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=cYvqI2qba3xh8afo4Cpw_A)... now that's a mouthful. I enjoyed everything but might have been sugared out towards the end. The store is bright and modern with a refrigerator that held beverages for take and go. The walls were nicely decorated with writings. Big thanks to Didy (pronounced Dee Dee) for her hospitality and delicious offerings. I will study her menu more carefully before stopping in again.

Great smells and a cute bakery on Fillmore. The owner was so welcoming and kind. We learned they've just been open a couple months. Prices are generally fair but a bit higher on a pastry $7-10 per item (less for cookie). 4.5/5 - Favorite item was the raspberry pistachio eclair, which had soft cream and lovely tart raspberry jam. Not too sweet 4/5 - Pistachio white chocolate chip cookie was hefty with a bit of a nice firmer outside and softer inside. Lots of filling of chocolate chips 3.5/5 Mango coconut passionfruit mousse had lots of layers and the passionfruit layer was very delicious and tart while balanced with the coconut. The bottom layer of cake or some sponge-like layer was a bit off in texture and didn't go as well with the creamy layers on top 3/5 Ham and cheese croissant was almost half soggy and soft when we had it and the cheese went too much into the pastry. The flavor was decent cheesy salty and meaty but the texture threw me off. Wish the owner offered to warm this up for us maybe it would have crisped back up some than room temp

I was being helped by the baker and she was very nice to describe the difference. Each dessert is about $8.95 I was deciding between the Dubai, caramel chocolate or lemon meringue. The lemon meringue won. The crust is more like a cookie. Very light in sugar. Reminds me of eating a lemon meringue pie. I gobbled it up. Perfect lemony.

Fantastic new bakery spot! I came in on a Thursday afternoon to a good selection of pastries. I ended up getting the Pistachio Raspberry Eclair, which was beautiful and delicious. I loved that the pistachio and raspberry flavors were both prominent and paired together incredibly well. The eclair was also super well made. There were a lot of other enticing options, so hopefully I can try out some of the other options soon! The owner was also very sweet in explaining the different desserts, and she seemed very passionate about her work. It's the kind of establishment that I absolutely love supporting. I hope KC Paris Desserts continues to flourish!

I love how close this new bakery is to me! The woman working was very nice, and there was so much to choose from. Ended up getting a few pastries, and didn't finish all of them so I had one this morning and it was still fresh! The display is beautiful and can't wait to come back and see the complete set up inside.

I was walking down the street and happened to come across some of the most delicious cakes I've ever tasted. I grabbed two to take home, and everyone instantly fell in love with them. After that, I will a custom order soon for sure. The wonderful lady with the cool accent gave amazing, friendly service. She's truly delightful. I'll definitely be ordering from there again soon. Thank you, and the cakes? Absolutely incredible.

A Parisian pastry chef is bringing some real fancy pastries and desserts to the Fillmore. She is super nice and took time to talk to us about her work. The dessert case looked so fabulous and delicious. We got the ham and cheese croissant, pistachio white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie, this pistachio raspberry passion fruit pastry, then a coconut passion fruit raspberry mousse. The pistachio raspberry pastry with the passion fruit filling was outstanding!! The pistachio cookie was thiccccc, so sweet. It was a little pricey, but quality pastries! Nice place to enjoy fancy pastries with friends. Great service too!

the staff I interacted with was fully french and super friendly! the pastries are pretty pricey but I got the pistachio raspberry eclair ($8.95) and it was pretty generous. it wasn't too sweet and the choux pastry was not soggy

Great new bakery spot! They have a variety of sweet and savory pastries. There is no where to really sit and eat. It's mainly a grab and go spot. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking in this area can be challenging with mostly metered street parking. Overall a solid new place to grab some pastries!

    Peach tartlet! Excellent.

I'm always hunting for spots like this because I have a weakness for those over-the-top, Instagram-worthy desserts that look like diabetes in a dish. Like most places in this genre, A Buttercup is small, modern, and minimalist with limited seating. If you plan to go, aim for off-hours unless you enjoy waiting in line for sugar. The decor is cute and trendy, perfect for photos if that's part of your dessert ritual. As they say, "you eat with your eyes first," and when it comes to presentation, this place definitely gets an A+. The desserts look stunning and set high expectations. Unfortunately, that's where things started to crumble. It's like going to see your favorite artist live. You've watched the videos, memorized the songs, and paid for the experience. But instead of the electric performance you imagined, you get someone lip-syncing and barely connecting with the crowd. That was this place in dessert form. We ordered the Mango Bingsoo on our first visit, and when it arrived, we were surprised by how small the portion was. The guy next to us even looked over and said, "Whatever that is, I'm getting that next time." He shouldn't have. The Bingsoo looked great but was bland, and the "snow" was more chunky ice than soft shave. The Thai Tea Roti was also not what I expected. It came with Thai tea ice cream and sauce alongside a roti that was fried to a crunch. Interesting idea, just not the best execution. The sauce and ice cream needed a stronger Thai tea flavor to balance the crispy roti, and the flavors never quite came together. Overall, A Buttercup nails the aesthetics but misses the flavor. If you're here for the photos, you'll be happy. If you're here for the taste, you'll leave with a full camera roll and an unsatisfied sweet tooth.

The store is larger than it looks with some seating along the sides and back. I opted a small cup of the lychee black tea and auntie Kendra's garden. The lychee black tea was INCREDIBLE, strong, strong tea and fruit flavor, perfectly creamy, and not too sweet. The more memorable of the two, however, was definitely Auntie Kendra. It was a vanilla base with salty plum juice, passion fruit, and preserved lemon peel. The delicate vanilla, the lemon aroma without the sour tang, the floral, exotic passion fruit, and the unexpected punch of salt and earthiness from the plum juice, this is a WHOPPER of a flavor. Every bite allowed me a new appreciation of the layers of flavors in this scoop. While a bit pricy, Garden creamery is on par with the other local ice cream spots in SF and well, the flavors and my enjoyment of them speak for themselves. I will definitely be making more trips out here to try their other flavors!

The concept works well for anyone looking for a place that treats matcha as the main ingredient rather than just adding it as a trendy flavor, and the energy of the shop stays calm and inviting, making it a good spot for a focused dessert stop. The biggest highlight is the matcha soft serve, which has a stronger tea flavor compared to many sweeter matcha desserts. We ordered a cup and found the flavor leaning slightly earthy and bitter, giving it a more authentic matcha profile while still staying creamy and approachable. The Kiss of Matcha Parfait is another standout, combining different textures with matcha, toppings, and dessert elements that make it feel more complete than a simple scoop. The layers of the parfait were well composed, with the matcha soft serve, mochi, and crunchy elements coming together in a way that kept each bite interesting. The hojicha options are also worth trying if you prefer a roasted tea flavor that is smoother and less intense, and the hojicha soft serve offered a warm, toasted note that contrasted nicely with the brighter matcha. The menu has a nice mix of drinks and desserts, with items like croffles, mochi, and dango adding more variety beyond the usual matcha latte. The croffle is a good pairing with the drinks since the crisp texture works well with the richer flavors, and we found it held up well against the cream and toppings. There are also non-matcha options like vanilla soft serve, which makes it easier to visit with a group where everyone has different preferences, and the variety across the menu gives you room to explore beyond the matcha offerings. The space is smaller, so it feels more like a quick dessert stop rather than a place to spend hours. Seating is limited, but the cozy decoration and outdoor seating options make it a comfortable spot to enjoy your order when space is available. The indoor area is thoughtfully arranged, and the outdoor seating adds a nice option for warmer days. Service can vary depending on how busy it gets, but the overall experience is centered more around the quality of the desserts, and the staff are friendly and efficient when handling the flow of orders. Kiss of Matcha is a strong choice for matcha lovers looking for desserts with a deeper tea flavor. The combination of quality matcha, creative dessert options, and a cozy atmosphere makes it a spot worth returning to, especially if you enjoy trying different matcha creations. The balance of authentic flavors, thoughtful presentation, and a relaxed environment makes it a destination for a more intentional matcha experience.

A very accurately named store! Can't go wrong with shaved ice for dessert, no matter the weather…read more They have so many flavor options that literally cover an entire wall, with a plethora of toppings too! All of their flavors sounded good, and I wish I could sample all of them. I ended up going with the Valencia in a regular size so I could avoid decision anxiety; this was a preset bowl of horchata shaved ice with different toppings that was exactly what I was craving. My friend got the other preset option, Cereal Killer, which tasted just like fruity pebbles ice cream as promised. It looks like a lot when first presented to you (like so high and so fluffy), but as you eat it, the toppings start making the ice sink lol. A more manageable portion size after that :) Their shop is small with not much waiting room besides a bench against the window, and I think most people go to their outside tables to eat their shaved ice. Not super ideal for cold windy evenings like when we went, and we huddled in my car to finish them. Definitely mind any shaved ice that might topple over the edge when you first dive in since they pack it real tight. Worth your moola! I will absolutely come back to try other flavors and still order a regular just for myself :)

Generous portions and a wide selection of tasty flavors yessir. There was only one worker there…read moreduring an early afternoon rush, but she was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and very speedy too! Props. Need 2 come back to try all the flavors.. 10/10 so far
