Sadly this studio is a little too far out of my way to be my home studio. That makes me a little…read moresad because the space is incredible. Admittedly I am always nervous when going to New Haven because I never know where to park, which door to go in, which floor to go to, etc. However, the Breathing Room website is EXTREMELY helpful and lists all of the parking options and fees (including the lot right next to the building for only $3). I was there for a 3 day workshop and I had a great time. We were in the aerial studio (although the hammocks were hung up and out of the way) and it was really clean, there were tons of props and the windows and brick were so lovely. There are also plenty of bathrooms, changing areas, a couple of large sitting areas, tons of tasteful retail (shirts, yoga pants, jewelry, essential oils, mala beads, etc), a water bottle filling fountain, and hot tea in little cups is always available. There are 3 yoga rooms, all with their own personalities and lots of cubbies for storing things while you're taking classes. Although I didn't get a chance to visit this time around, there's also a float center that I've heard great things about. I haven't taken classes yet with any of the BR instructors, but I have heard only positive things from the students who have that I'm dying to come back to try some of them! The people who work at the reception desk are all very friendly and helpful and the owner Margot is very welcoming and has created an amazing space with great energy. This place is a true gem!

I was a little intimidated at first, but all of the people there have such varied experience - from beginner to advanced. The classes are non-judgmental and the teachers encourage you to do what's comfortable. They have "consent chips" that you can flip over if you're not comfortable with the teacher adjusting your posture. I do think the class descriptions might be a little misleading. Form and Flow was my first class ever and I could hardly keep up. The classes that are for "all experience levels" sometimes require at least a little bit of knowledge of the poses in order to do what you're supposed to do. Other than that, I think it's safe to say that I'm obsessed.

I miss her dearly, and would have rekindled. Her group was highly insensitive and gave me an unsigned response in one sentence that she had passed. At it's peak, there were 150+ fellow viewers. I loved every moment... the wonderful instructor was extremely calming, motivating, down to earth and genuinely positive. I wish I could make him the voice of my alarm clock each morning. Thank you again for hosting this. I've done a few guided meditation sessions before and this one was amongst the most well run. In fact, I almost forgot that this was being done over Zoom... it felt like the class was literally happening within my living room. At times like these, it was such an honor to be surrounded (even if virtually) by hundreds of like-minded and positive individuals. That group dance sess at the end was the icing on the cake!

With work and other outside demands, we need to let stuff go so that we can live in the moment and be happy. This helps to be more focused, energetic, and appreciative. I feel that anyone with a stressful lifestyle could benefit from this center's services. They offer on line classes or online one on one sessions. They are open every day- so there is no excuse to not be able to get some stress relief! Their hours are Monday- Saturday 10 am-10 pm and Sunday 10 am- 3 pm! I learned how to count my blessings today!
