It's really hit or miss when you get pan dulce- a.k.a. Mexican sweet bread- the bread is either soft and has good flavor, or it's hard and dry. The bread I got here was soft and delicious! Not only do they sell bread, but they have different Jell-O flavors like coconut, pistachio, nuez (nuts). We bought the rompope flavor (eggnog) since it's that time of year! They also sell cakes which were decorated beautifully! The man at the counter was super friendly and had great customer service. The front where the customers stand is small, but the kitchen area in the back is quite large. And nothing beats the smell of a panaderia!! I'll definitely be back!

Clockwise starting from left side. Pineapple empanada, apple empanada and flakey crust apple empanada.

If you're looking for fresh pastries that value quality over quantity this is the place. So many choices that each visit a new item is discovered. This visit I had planned on getting a pineapple empanada but when I asked what kind they had they also had apple. Tip, always ask what they have on the racks or ask if they have what specific item you are looking for. Since they are constantly baking fresh item, they might have it ready but cooling on the racks. Then they mentioned there are 2 different type of Apple empanadas. 1 has the traditional crust and the other has a flakey crust. So I did what any empanada loving person would do and got one of each. Then as I was walking out they had the prettiest little Individual size clear Jello fruit cake. So quickly turned around and bought one.

I found this little gem by chance when a family member was craving something sweet, and we thought, why not some pan dulce? Our first stop was La Esperanza, but as usual, it was packed. On the way home, I happened to spot this place and was immediately drawn in by the smell of fresh baked goods right from the parking lot. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted and helped right away. The shop is small, but the selection is excellent, and the pan dulce was absolutely delicious. I'm not sure how long this spot has been around, but they've definitely earned me as a new regular. A great find for anyone with a sweet tooth!

We had the pleasure of visiting this local Mexican bakery. Everything that is made here is 100% handmade authentic Mexican pastries. They have been in the Sacramento area for 22 years. It is family owned not only do they sell pastries. They also sell beautifully crafted birthday and wedding cakes. I met the owner and her son. Their customer service was not only excellent, but made me feel so welcomed. We tried multiple pastries and everything we tried. You can feel the love and authenticity of each item. I would definitely recommend and I can't wait to go back and try even more.

I stopped in Saturday afternoon. It smelled like heaven. Lots of different cakes and Mexican breads to try. The young man behind the counter suggested a few different items. I left with a pumpkin empanada. It was delicious. Not too sweet. Will be back to try other items.

Best Spanish bakery I've ever tried! The lady that helped us was so sweet and made us feel welcomed. She answered our questions with a smile and told us we could always call ahead to reserve our order. We got their rolls, concha, arroz con leche, and pie de elote. Everything was so good and better than other places that taste really dry. Can't wait to come back to try the tamales and tres leche cake!

I got there late and was unable to get conchas. I was a little skeptical because of the bakery's name, yet once I had a bite of pan dulce it reminded me of my hometown's panaderías (Mexicali, Mexico). I will definitely be coming back and hope to get conchas this time

First time guest at Danes Bakery, but heard such good things about this panderia. Easter was coming up and I had to bring something to the carne asada!! The customer service was unbelievably friendly. The sweet baker spoke with me to discuss what I was looking for and I showed them a picture from their own Yelp. Definitely coming back for Mothers Day. Thank you again for your amazing customer service and friendliness. I couldnt have asked for a better experience as a first time guest :))) !!!!!

There is no seating inside but there are a few benches outside. I think the favorite thing I got here was their "not pizza" which was their sourdough bread topped with delicious tomato sauce, cheese, etc. Amazing and so soft and fluffy. I also really enjoyed their banana bread (insanely moist) and egg and ham cup. Prices are reasonable (croissants are less than $5) and service is fast despite the line out the door. Very high quality stuff and worth the drive if you are coming from out of the area. You won't be disappointed. I wouldn't be surprised if this place continues to get more popular. I grabbed the chocolate banana bread, a garlic bun, a potato and crème fraîche, savory pastry, and an egg and ham pastry. Definitely been on a big banana bread kick lately and this one did not disappoint. Tons of chocolate chips! The garlic bun was by far my absolute favorite. It was crispy and at the same time so buttery like a croissant, and the garlic flavor was amazing. Not overpowering not that spicy garlic taste when a recipe overdoes it, just perfect garlic, butter, crisp and light. Absolute heaven. I was a little sad that I was there alone and no one to share it with so I'm sharing with all of you today... you absolutely have to try this spot Lots of little items for purchase on the shelf to some handmade pottery, hand, carved salad, tongs, and even print of the bakery. I set my pickup on a Sunday at 12 pm. There is a number to notify the bakery you're there for your pickup. Unfortunately, they were so slammed no one picked up and it went to vm. I couldn't go inside since I had my 1 year old asleep in the car. I parked near the front and knocked on the window. An employee saw me and gave me excellent and expeditious customer service! Respectful, kind, and appreciative for my business. I wish I got his name! He walked the cake all the way to my car and made sure I took a peak to see if my cake was correct. We ordered the Strawberry White Chocolate Mousse cake for my son's 18th birthday. Not super sweet even though white chocolate can be that way. The mousse was light and not too decadent. Ummm... I have mixed feelings about this place…read more Let's start with the positives because there are plenty. The cakes, pastries, and beverages were absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. In fact, the cakes impressed me so much that I can honestly see myself ordering future birthday and celebration cakes from here. The ordering process was smooth, and the décor is gorgeous, making it a really inviting place to spend some time. I enjoyed the bakery so much that I came back a week later to try lunch. Unfortunately, that's where things took a turn. I ordered the burger, and someone in my party had the salmon burger. Both were incredibly bland. It honestly tasted like no salt or seasoning had been added at all. If you prefer very lightly seasoned food, this might be right up your alley, but it just wasn't for me. The iced tea also comes unsweetened, so keep that in mind if you're expecting sweet tea. One small thing that could also be improved is the ordering setup. There are separate lines for the bakery and the kitchen, but when it gets busy it can be a little confusing--especially since you order first and then find a seat. Overall, I'd absolutely return for the pastries, cakes, and drinks. The bakery side is outstanding. As for lunch, though, it left me wanting a lot more flavor.

I decided to go for the chicken and mushroom congee. (rice porridge.). I also got a green onion hotdog roll to take home with me. To drink, I had a green tea with lemon. The congee was amazing. A rich complex flavor. It had a little bit of ginger in it, you could definitely taste the ginger, but it did not overwhelm the rest of the porridge. The chicken was good, and for the mushroom, they used black mushrooms, which have a deeper flavor than regular mushrooms. So very good. It looked like a small bowl, but I couldn't finish it. Some came home with me, and it reheated very well. It also came with Chinese donuts to put in the porridge. Chinese donuts are a little bit different. They definitely taste like a doughnut, except they are not sweet at all. They are savory donuts, and are perfect to use as a crouton, so to speak. The green tea was very good, and they didn't overdo it with the lemon, and that hotdog roll that I had later, the pastry was delicious with just a little bit of a "chew" to it, they were definitely high-quality hot dogs, and it wasn't just green onion. They had something mixed in, I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't taste raw like green onion can. Just a great lunch. I'll be back. Thanks.

There was a bit of a wait since there were some people ahead of us, so I'd recommend you going a bit earlier than your time just in case you're in a rush. We headed home to try everything. The sandwiches were good, but they were anything crazy. Size wise it is small for the price you get, but I get it. It's all house made and fresh. The very berry pastry was my favorite. The cream was light, fresh, and had just the right amount of sweetness, and the fruit on top tasted fresh and sweet. The hash brown bread with ham and cheese was very dense and filling, making it a great savory option. I loved the self-serve pastry setup and appreciated how large the bakery selection was.
