I ordered the pad Thai with chicken and had it delivered via Door Dash. The food arrived still relatively hot but the chicken was dry and flavorless. The avocado/shrimp spring roll was jammed with shredded lettuce, when I located the avocado it was maybe 1/4" and the shrimp was small tasteless and just the one. I've had the pad Thai before and only once was the chicken tender. The noodles were okay and the peanut sauce was not so good. I won't be ordering that dish from this establishment again. Likely not to return as I am not into tofu and I fear all other meats would result in the same cooking method as the chicken. No thank you. read more

Great Thai restaurant in Lake Oswego. We've ordered takeout several times, both delivery (through postmates) and pick-up. They understand what "vegan" means and have several options that can be made vegan. The portions are very large as well. Our favorites include the pad Thai and khao soy. read more

This was once a good restaurant. Our experience tonight with the owners/managers was awful. The food was once consistently good but has become too often inedible (such as deep fried meat, as hard as a rock, which was supposed to be grilled, not deep fried in the first place). There are, fortunately, other Aidan restaurants worth trying. Try Malee's in Lake Oswego or Mai Asian in Tualatin. We will t be back to Dang's. read more

Food quality is sometimes very good but inconsistent. However, my biggest complaint is all the PLASTIC they use for take-out. There is NO excuse these days for being that unconscious around to go packaging. Everything is plastic, and you know that most people are not even attempting to recycle, if it even is recyclable. Please. Dang's, spend the money on more enviro-friendly take out containers. It matters. WAY too much garbage produced by this place. read more

My favorite dish at this restaurant is Tom Yum Noodle Soup, which is this perfect blend of sour and spicy mixed with seafood and meat and delicious noodles. I also love the green curry and the bamboo shoots, so warm and yummy over a bowl of rice. read more

I love Thai food and have eaten at countless Thai restaurants in the Portland area and beyond. It doesn't really get any better than Dang's. All of the traditional dishes are exceptional. Don't pass up the crab fried rice! The staff is always friendly and totally on point. We stopped here with our friend who lives out this way and suggested it. As we walked in, I noticed the good job with the decor and it had a warm and inviting feel. The service on the other hand was slow as the girl working the register and seating was busy doing 3 or so take out orders with no one else in sight. We finally got seated and presented menus. Again it took awhile until they were ready for the order. I'm used to very fast service in most Thai places. We ordered Pad Thai w/ chicken, Kao Soi and a fresh roll with shrimp. The food was excellent. The protein in all of the dishes was abundant. The fresh roll was just that, light and airy. Kao Soi was not too sour and not too rich. I'm surprised at four star reviews because this place is the best Thai I have tried in the Portland area. Coming from Vancouver BC where we have amazing Thai food and Asian cuisine of all kinds I can definitely vouch that this is the closest to that. Loved the food here. It has been years since I had come. They were very busy. Great to see. I had my usual Panang curry with shrimp. Oh how I love it. The atmosphere is just ok. Seamed like a converted Dennys. Not that there is anything wrong with converted Dennys. But is didn't add to the vibe imo. The waitstaff were very friendly. The orders took a bit to deliver, but it seemed like we came as part of a rush so I'll give them some slack. There was plenty of food, and i really enjoyed the leftovers the next day. My family loves it here! It smells delicious as soon as you walk in, and the food is ready quickly and it is so good! The peanut sauce is great, especially on the emerald veggie dish and fresh rolls. we always get a curry, tonight we got the red curry and it is flavorful and full of great vegetables. Mango shrimp also great and the pineapple fried rice is a regular for us. Would definitely recommend, portions are good sized and we always have great leftovers. read more

I am always appreciative of really good salad rolls and Dang's delivered. My order of shrimp salad rolls was nice and full with fresh avocado. I also appreciate that they used that noodly, filler stuff sparingly. I am now a huge fan of their hot and spicy soup. It was chock-full of tofu, black mushrooms, heart of bamboo, other veggies, and was wonderfully flavourful. It really had an awesome kick to it but wasn't so spicy that I needed a Kleenex and a glass of water. In all, this soup is very nicely balanced. I can't complain about the service either. The craving struck for Thai one night. It was sudden and came with a vengeance. With Thai, A seeks "the taste." This specific taste that you can only get at that one restaurant. We decided to try our luck with to go from Dang's & dang, were we happy campers! We got the beef & pumpkin massaman curry, pad thai (as a point of comparison), seafood medley, fried stuffed calamari. The beef in the curry were real chunks of stewed to fall apart beef (not the thin sliced stir fry beef some places throw in). The seafood medley had crab claws with the hunks of meat sticking out, mussles, shrimp, scallops all in a delicious sauce. The calamari was crisp and not greasy and stuffed full of herbed ground meat. The pad thai was also really good (though A prefers Pad Thai Kitchen's version). Everything was so delicious that A said we had to place the same order every time we go there. From the other reviews it sounds like we can't really go wrong with much there. I love all the beyond normal Thai food options here and I can't wait for another craving to hit! read more

Was expecting it to be good due to prior Yelp reviews. It was even better than that! I don't think I've ever given five stars before. We had wanton soup and chicken satay for starters. Then we had no meat with the following dishes: pad eggplant stir fry, mussamun curry and the kao pad spicy basil fried rice. Every dish was delicious. Not a single dish was just okay. We liked the eggplant best. We came on a Monday night and it was busy but not over crowded. Service was fine. I can see how this place might get too busy on a weekend and service might suffer. read more

Took a road trip on Thursday and on our way back home we stopped here for dinner. The place was packed. Their was only 2 tables empty. We were warmly greeted, and taken to a table,. The anticipation was building from the moment we got there. With the place full we both thought this has got to be good. We both ordered Papaya salads, I got tofu fresh rolls, and vegetable Tom Kha, my friend got Pepper Shrimp. FYI: Sticky rice is not included with the Papaya salad, nor is rice included with the Tom Kha. The fresh rolls were good. Really I was hoping they were going to be some thing different and better then other fresh rolls. But no. The peanut dipping sauce was good also. I asked for chilli peppers sauce. And when the waitress brought the tray of chilli sauce. 2 were missing. She apologize and said they have no more and that the other ones are being used by other diners. So instead of the tomatoe chilli sauce that is always what I like with my fresh rolls I had dried chilli powder or some kind of liquid red sauce. I opted for the dried chilli powder and with the peanut sauce it wasn't bad. The Papaya salad was delicious I just wish their was more of it. Very skimpy. Also I asked for Thai hot but it was more like a medium. Thanks Tom Kha was not what I was hoping for. It was more sour, and it didn't have that nice rich coconut milk broth that I've come to really like. The portion size is huge. Definitely enough to share. If that's all you order it will suffice to fill you up. Again I requested Thai hot on the Tom Kha and it was mild. My companion liked his jumbo pawn with garlic and pepper. Although he didn't eat any of the vegetables. Said they were over cooked. But he loved the prawns. Note every thing is pricey here. I ended up paying $27. My companion $ 32 Over all I liked this place. I would like to come back and try some different items on the menu. Very nice inside, wait staff was fine. They did not forget about us. Nice and clean inside, but we have tried many Tom yum soups in different Thai restaurants. The soup here was the worst we've had yet. The tomatoes weren't fresh, the soup was salty and had a little spice but not sour and spicy like it should be. The waiter did not seem like she wanted to wait on us, she looked bored the whole time she stood at our table waiting for us to order. Over the past few years I've eaten at Dangs once or twice and ordered to go food two or three times. I haven't tried a lot of things but the reason I keep going back when I'm in the area is the Salmon in Special Panang Curry, it's really great and pretty well priced at $17. The shrimp Fresh Rolls at $6.50 are also really good. I honestly don't recall what else I've had there because once I hit upon the Salmon I haven't wanted to order anything else. On weekend evenings expect a wait for dining in. read more

When we read in a newspaper's review that the owner of Dang's Thai Kitchen used to own Cha Ba Thai that alone was enough for us to put Dang's on our radar for a visit. (Love Cha Ba, but that's another review.) Since we have no great places to eat Thai food in our home town (and we have a Typhoon so I may get beat up for saying there are no great places) we ended up eating at Dang's on two nights during a recent Lake Oswego visit. We almost never eat at the same place two times in a row. (I would say we never do, but we did here, so there you go.) Winning decision as everything we ordered at Dang's ranged from good to really good. FOOD HIGHLIGHTS: We are fans of miang kum (sp?), the appetizer that is fresh spinach leaves served with tamarind "jam", finely diced ginger, peanuts, lime, onions and chiles to fold up in the spinach leaf and pop in your mouth in one perfect bite of sweet, hot, salty, sour Thai perfectness. Not found on all Thai food menus, Dang's not only serves it but gets it absolutely right. This was the best miang kum we have ever eaten, and we've tried it in many places. They also had khao soi (sp?), a Burmese influenced noodle dish made with egg noodles and not rice noodles as is more typical in Thai cooking. Dang's khao soi was second only to the khao soi at Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas, in our opinion. (Lotus of Siam, in our view, once was best Thai food in the U.S.) SERVICE: We know there have been concerns raised in reviews in some places about service quality, but on both nights of our visit the service was very good. And on both nights the restaurant had a decent occupancy (not full but up there) and the take out orders seemed to fly out the door. Even with those demands on the kitchen, the pacing of our meal worked. As for the language barriers mentioned as a factor in some places, the server who waited on us the second night clearly did not speak English as a first language, but they spoke English a whole lot better than we speak their language (which is not at all) and we were guests in "their house", so it didn't seem a big issue. Patience and courtesy flow both ways in a service setting, seems to us. VALUE: As with most Thai restaurants (except perhaps Typhoon) the prices here are very reasonable. I can't recall the tab as I post this review, but we drank only tea on both nights and without a bar bill to factor in, it was pretty inexpensive eating for such good food. AMBIANCE: We liked the atmosphere here too, which is a lot more polished than many Thai restaurants. As we sat by the window and watched the cars whizzing by in the darkness and pouring rain, we thought how lucky we were to be warm and dry and eating good food at Dang's Thai Kitchen. UNEXPECTED: Ample parking in the restaurant's private lot is another plus, especially on a rainy night. read more

I think this is one of the better Thai places in the area. Overall the place was clean, service was prompt, and the food was fresh. The tofu roll was good but the peanut sauce was even better. It didn't taste like it came out of a peanut butter jar. The Pad Thai was right on. The right consistency, not too dry, not too wet. Right amount of veggies. 4 1/2 stars. The chicken was a bit on the dry side. The green curry was just ok 3 stars. The the pad see ew also just ok. 3 stars. Something about it, just couldn't quite tell exactly what, but not as good as others I'm used to. There definitely was promise enough to go back and try other dishes. Visting for first time. Was told this was good and got lost going there. Pulled in at closing time and they still took my to go order. Very fresh and the level of hot is exactly what they say. Not familiar with the menu so ordered too much food. A family or couple could split the dinner portions. Just hand cooked food (in a huury) and was exactly what was ordered. Got a ground chicken and shrimp dish which was amazing. Basil was added to perfection. Opened it up in the hotel room and got a garlic explosion. Loved it but I am not sure the hotel fridge will ever recover. Would recommend highly. Friendy, very clean and good food. Be careful making a left turn from the parking lot. Very tricky. read more

Dungeness crab fried rice = orgasmic Thai goodness. LOVE. I've been to Dang's a couple of times now over the years & stuck with this favorite - a ginormous plate of dungeness crab fried rice, enough for about 3-4 meals, for just $14. Score. The Thai iced coffee is great too, but very sweet. I like my coffee black, but if you're looking for a sweet, refreshing drink that also packs a caffeine punch? Thai iced coffee. Dang's is really popular in Lake Oswego. Great place for groups - maybe a pre-high school dance dinner? Or a birthday party in their banquet room? Or just a casual lunch? I've been to Dang's for all of these occasions & it delivers. The service, though...meh...our waiter did NOT smile one time! I asked if there was any possible way to order a "lunch" sized portion of the crab fried rice, and he said no very abruptly & sternly. I was kind of offended. I ordered the "Roast Duck w/ Egg Noodles" printed on the menu. The duck was stale and poorly cut. The skin was limp, wrinkled, and soggy. It had no texture and no flavor. The broth was bland and lukewarm. The noodles weren't even egg noodles. They were cheap, package ramen noodles. Yes, the kind you can buy for ninety nine cents a pack. But even worse was that the waitress agreed that it was ramen noodles and also implied that they have egg noodles that they use for another dish. So she could have corrected it! I had her take the poorly made, incorrect food away and she waved the charge. But I would have gladly eaten it had she simply corrected it by giving me what I ordered. Waste of time...Wish I would have gone somewhere else instead. read more
