I rarely order take out but I needed something in a pinch for my son and I. I figured pho would travel fairly well. Well I was wrong and the pho wasn't great to begin with. The pho base was bland and didn't have those deep developed flavors that you get from great pho. The chicken was really really really over cooked. It's was so dry that we took it all out and tossed it. The noodles were ok. The best thing was the one item that I didn't think would travel well; egg rolls. My family was on a road trip in Norcal/Oregon and were desperate for Asian food. We found Dang's on Yelp and visited with cautious optimism, but were certainly not disappointed! I had a good feeling when I first walked in - the restaurant is run by a Vietnamese gentlemen and the vast majority of the patrons were Vietnamese as well. The food itself was great; we tried a wide variety of items, ranging from pho to spring rolls to salads, and they were on par with some of the food I've had in SoCal. Some people comment in the reviews about the service - I can see how it can be perceived as "rude" (i.e. we were not greeted when we first walked in and stood around waiting for a good 5-10 minutes), but the staff are absolutely lovely once you give them a chance. The Pho at Dang's has the great broth you expect and need when you're craving pho. I've ordered 3-4 times here and have never been disappointed. So thankful to have this spot in Bend for reliable, quality bowls of pho. V1. Special Combination Vermicelli is an easy 9 out of 10. Plenty of food - Great for sharing. I get this when I'm starving. I always have to get this plate cause it's a perfect balance of fresh ingredients, grilled meats, a crispy egg roll, and large bottom filled with rice noodles and fish sauce dipping sauce which complements everything here... ALWAYS DELICIOUS! Only reason it's a 9/10 is I always want more egg roll when I'm eating this plate cause the crispiness is so good with everything else on the plate. Also always order the salad rolls (rice paper rolls with shrimp, lettuce and rice noodles inside) and I appreciate that they pack it tightly for delivery so they don't come hardened as these rolls do when they're not fresh or packed properly. Tip: If you have any leftover rolls the next day, shallow fry these up in a pan! Between the two Vietnamese restaurants in town, I choose Dang's. Service was good and fast. We had the combination pho and chicken salad for lunch. The pho was ok, nothing special but it was hot and had lots of meat in it. It satisfied my pho craving. The chicken salad was really good but it's over-priced for what you get. I ordered salad rolls, Rare beef Pho and a Pho Ga for delivery to my sick friends. Salad rolls only had shrimp and no pork as stated on the Yelp menu! Peanut sauce was taste less. Here in Silicon Valley (little Saigon) they say you can judge a place by the peanut sauce, and it was not good. A+ for the Pho Ga was tasty and meat is clean. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh-tasting, the people are friendly, and the portion sizes are HUGE for the price. Try the V-1 Combo for a healthy lighter bite (usually good for two meals) or get the D-6 Curry for a heartier, more exotic-tasting meal. We used to visit Dang's regularly and then...Covid. We decided to order take out today for the first time in a year and a half and I can say that the food was even better than it used to be. It was AMAZING. I ordered my usual, tofu lemongrass with veggie spring rolls, and W ordered his usual, beef brisket pho with salad rolls. We decided that this is going to be our go to restaurant for Asian food. Central Oregon is lucky to have this place, since there are VERY few decent Asian restaurants (including Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and Chinese) restaurants in the area. Don't believe the one star reviews for this restaurant, since so many of them are written by reviewers with huge numbers of friends and very few reviews or reviewers with very few friends and very few reviews. I was here after a ski day (super hungry) with some friends and the food was pretty good! The price was reasonable and the food portion was big. We each had an entree and shared 3 appetizers, that was more than enough to feed 8 starting people. The booths are capable to hold a party of 4. First time in town and my family and I were craving some good Vietnamese food! I must say it's a pretty good spot for the area, we ordered the combo pho, kalbi beef and rice, spring rolls & fried wontons! I must say I was in love with the short ribs & fried wontons which was on their special menu, the pho broth was okay, I'm use to a more beefy broth, so it was quite different for me.. I guess it was a very light broth, not as flavorful & lacked the beefy and herby taste. The shorts came on top of stir fried veggies, rice, fish sauce and a side of broth chicken broth I believe. Cooked to perfection, super tender and flavorful! Fried wontons were basically like egg roll filling in a wonton wrapper, taste so amazing with the fish sauce instead of the sweet chili sauce it comes with. Service is amazing, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Our server even tried to entertain my 18 month old! I would definitely recommend this place if your craving some good Vietnamese dishes! My family was craving some Asian food en route to Canada so we decided to try this place out. Really really really pleasantly surprised. This place is LITERALLY AN OASIS in the desert of non existant Asian food way out here. You can really taste and literally see the work they put in the broth. It's definitely on par with some of the best pho places down in OC (in socal) and honestly some of the best pho I've ever had. Really surprised to find such a dope pho place out here in Bend! Meat was super tender and juicy and they gave very very generous portions (so make sure if hungry before u come). crisp fresh basil and bean sprouts. Everything was amazing in itself, but to someone who's been pho-deprived for a while, this was quite literally a dream come true. I can't speak for any of the other dishes (other than the spring roll- or I think it's called a salad roll here - tightly wrapped and very fresh) but it seems that they give very large portions overall. Recently opened (@ 4/18/13) owner operated, small restaurant makes the third Vietnamese eatery in Bend where once there were none. Food is really good and prices for each of the items on the traditional Vietnamese menu seem 15% to 20% lower than the other two Bend Vietnamese restaurants. (Both of those other restaurants, one on 97 north and one downtown, are owned by another person.) If we're craving Vietnamese food, Dang's is our new "go to" place. LOCATION: Located in a storefront that shares a parking lot with Outback Steakhouse just off of Highway 97, aka 3rd Street. While not the most beautiful of locations, it does provide the benefit of a private parking lot. AMBIANCE: Ambiance is spare, but sparkling clean. As interesting choice, country western music is played on the sound system but at a nice low level to allow conversation. I like it! Seating for maybe 45 at a combination of red vinyl booths and wooden tables and chairs. Nice space between tables. As you open the door you are greeted with the aromas of grilled pork and steaming broth and fresh herbs. It smells like good food and the promise is delivered on when the food reaches your table. MENU: The menu is broken down into appetizers, Pho (noodle soup), Com Dia (rice platters),Bun (vermicelli rice noodle bowls), Bahn Mi (sandwiches) and also include a couple of Vietnamese specialties, like a rice flour crepe called Bahn Xeo. Also on the menu are a few non Vietnamese items that seem to show up at all local Vietnamese restaurants, like Teriyaki and Yakisoba noodles. There are roughly 20 varieties of Pho offered and although this is traditionally made with beef, there were half a dozen options that did not include beef, one of which was vegetarian. Very nice. AUTHENTIC FOOD: Our server told us the owners are natives of Vietnam who found their way to Central Oregon via the San Francisco Bay area. The cook who came out of the kitchen to help deliver food was Vietnamese and the delicious flavors in the authentically prepared food demonstrated he was practiced in his craft. The salad rolls here ($4.00 vegetarian and $4.50 with shrimp and pork) are the best we've had in Central Oregon. The grilled lemongrass Banh Mi which is delicious and easily shareable by two is the best bargain on a Bahn Mi in Bend at only $3.95 for tofu or $4.95 for chicken or pork or $5.95 for beef. My husband and I also enjoyed Banh Xeo ($9.50), a large rice flour crepe , folded over a fiilling of pork, shrimp and bean sprouts. This dish was served with uber fresh leaf lettuce and fresh mint and sweet - sour - salt perfect traditional nuoac cham dipping sauce. We noted for each of the dishes we ordered how fresh were the raw veggies and herbs used with or in the food. Delightful. Pho ordered at an adjacent table arrived to perfume the space with the fragrant broth. We don't eat beef, but one of the seafood or vegetarian options will be on our "to try" list soon. Don't miss the house made pickled sweet / hot peppers that are in a condiment jar on each table. A blend of what seems to be Serrano and Jalapeno peppers, these add a delicious kick. VALUE: Prices range from $4.00 for vegetarian salad roll (easily shareable by two) that comes with peanut sauce to small bowls of Pho for $7.95 and large bowls for $8.95 to $11.50 for the special combination Bun that includes egg rolls, shrimp and pork. Dinner for two of salad rolls, Bahn Xeo and Bahn Mi was only $18.00 before tip. LIBATIONS: No liquor license but soft drinks and traditional Vietnamese beverages are available. The latter including Vietnamese coffee, hot or iced, mango shake, avocado shake, Thai iced tea and for the very brave at heart even Durian juice. (Go ahead and drink that, I double dog dare ya. :-) ) SERVICE: Our server was very friendly, personable and welcoming. Food was super flavorful and how I think pho should be but the portions were sad, for almost a dollar more than pho viet, it's worth just going to viet although compromising flavor. So small my bf was still hungry and ate/drank the whole bowl. Even I was left still hungry. Their reasoning was that people tend to waste the noodles, doesn't matter, we pay full price we shouldn't expect any less of a portion. The absolute worst customer service I've ever had. I ordered off of grub hub, showed up with a digital receipt. The I showed it to the server/counter help. He was a little busy, but also very rude. He said that wasn't the receipt he needed and refused to give me my food. Although I stated the name for the pickup as well as showed him the door dsah receipt. I sat there for 10 minutes trying to pull up another form of proof it was my food. Asked if the had wifi. Because I couldn't get signal. I then again showed him the receipt from door dash. I had to update my review of Dang's after having lived in Bend for several years with Dang's just a few blocks away from my house. Husband would go for take out often during Covid so we became quite familiar with the food. I fell in love with the mango salad and would order Cashew Tofu which was a perfect meal for my vegan/pescatarian inclination. We've since moved to Eagle Crest and miss Dang's, but pick some up when we're in Bend which isn't often enough. read more

Service here is always top notch even though one server handles the whole restaurant. The food is way better than the local competition down the street. We always get the Summer Roll appetizer and then switch up our entrées. Last time, I had the Chicken Curry and my wife had the Honey Lemongrass Chicken. Other favorites are the Seafood Wonton Pho and the Shrimp Skewer with Grilled Pork. We just have never had a bad meal there! read more
