Let me start by saying I only occasionally post Yelp! reviews and I have never posted a "bad" rating for any restaurant as I wouldn't want my one poor experience to taint the restaurant's review pool and rating, but... We had a sub-par experience at this restaurant a few weeks ago when dining with my wife, however I decided to give it another try this week with my daughter. Sorry to say the restaurant did not redeem itself; so I wrote a novel if you really want the details: PART I: On our first visit, (weekday evening, no reservation) I asked the server for her recommendation between two dishes, one of which was a shrimp dish. She SPECIFICALLY endorsed the shrimp dish, even repeating the name back to me. When my dish came out it was a chicken dish, and frankly, did not even seem to match the description of the shrimp dish (i.e., not just a substitution of the meat but I believe it was the wrong dish entirely.) I did not notice the error immediately (the food took forever to arrive so I was starving) but after a few bites I figured out this was not what I had ordered. We politely asked the server what was "up" and she said we ordered the chicken dish. My wife & I both separately reminded her that we SPECIFICALLY had the conversation about her recommending the shrimp, she not only did not apologize but suggested that WE made the error. She then reluctantly asked me if I wanted the kitchen to remake the order but I told her "No" since I was already halfway into the dish and I knew how long it would take them to replace it. When the bill came, I noticed that they still had charged me for the shrimp dish, which was about $8 more that the equivalent shrimp dish. So, for the nerve, they tried to charge me anyway for the dish that was not even served to me. To compound matters further, when I asked the server to adjust the price to that of the chicken dish, rather than apologize for the error and offer to correct it immediately, her dismissive response was "I'll see what I can do." After a 10-minute hunt for the manager (who was "in the back" attending to apparently more important matters), she came back with the corrected bill. Manager never came to our table and the server never acknowledged nor apologized for the poor experience and the series of errors. PART II: My daughter is vegan and wanted Thai food. I had remembered that Noi had a lot of vegetarian options so I decided to give them another try. This time I made a lunch reservation online; it was early and few diners were in the restaurant so I was hopeful we'd have a better experience this time. My dish (chicken satay; hard to screw it up) was just fine, except for no apparent reason it was served with three pieces of tiny toast, which appeared to be merely grilled compressed pieces of white bread. I teased the server a bit about it in a good-natured way, he conceded also it was somewhat a weird, not-so-Thai item. My daughter ordered a bowl of Tom-Ka, which arrived hot and she found acceptable. She also ordered a spinach & tofu dish. She had been told the spinach would be lightly sauteed, however, when it arrived it looked like about 20% of the spinach had been cooked and the rest just looked like a fresh spinach salad. Worse, it arrived COLD. I expressed my concerns about the spinach dish to the server, and asked the kitchen to remake it. Much to his credit (unlike the first server) he offered to do so without hesitation. When the replacement dish came, however, it was significantly different than the first. While it did have spinach and tofu, mixed vegetables had somehow been added to the dish; suggesting confusion in the kitchen as to how to prepare the same dish twice the same way within the same half-hour period. Getting extra veggies was not problematic, except for the baby corn, which had a sour taste, possibly from being stored too long or a bad batch of canning. After the server returned to our table to then ask if everything was OK, my daughter noticed, and retrieved with her chopsticks, a coiled shard of what appeared to be aluminum foil or some other type of metal fragment. The server, again to his credit, IMMEDIATELY apologized and offered to to the dish off the bill, which he did. And, after all the dishes were cleared, he also offered a complementary dessert, which we declined as we had an appointment to get to. I intentionally do not identify servers by name in a poor review, but conversely, I DO give credit where credit is due for good service. Harrison was our server on the second visit, and he was awesome. He diplomatically addressed the various mistakes made by the kitchen and took responsibility, even though the errors were not actually his (contrast this with the experience we had with the "anonymous" server from our first visit.) P.S., I made sure to tip Harrison based on what would have been the original cost of the meal had not the one entree been removed from the bill; he did a great job! read more

The food was excellent - easily 4 stars. One of the best Thai restaurants we've tried in Oregon. The flavors were authentic and really well done. My only complaint was with the service. Our server, Shayla, offered different rice options (even though we didn't ask), like coconut rice and jasmine rice, without mentioning they came with an additional charge. It sounded like a standard option that came with the entrée, as is common with many Asian dishes, so my kids chose the coconut rice. We didn't realize it was an upcharge until later, which was a bit disappointing. Also, the hot tea wasn't refillable, which was surprising. Overall, the food was very good, but clearer communication on pricing would have made the experience even better. read more

One of my fav Thai restaurants! We were driving through Bend and saw there was a Noi Thai there. We were pleasantly surprised. The food is so good here. Quality of the crispy garlic chicken actually tasted better here than the Seattle location. Nonetheless amazing flavors all around. They have super tasty cocktails too. I recommend coming here for Happy Hour because their portions are great. I can never finish a whole main dish by myself! Service and ambiance were great too. Definitely a restaurant for big groups, parties, date nights, etc. read more

The food was incredible - crab wontons, crispy garlic chicken, yum salad with shrimp and drunken khi mao noodles. Service was absolutely dismal. Didn't arrive to take our order for quite a while after we were seated, didn't bring Thai Iced Tea until asked again about it when our dinner was served, my wife asked for the salad dressing on the side as she is a Type 1 diabetic and has to control her sugar intake - salad arrived with dressing in salad. Enjoyed the great food when it was delivered (by another waiter) and never saw our waitress again. Had to have another waitress track ours down to get the check. No inquiry about dessert or how everything was - fortunately the food was excellent. read more

Who would have known that I'd find some of the best Thai I've had in a long time in Bend Oregon? Thjs place reminded me why I love Thai Food when it's done well. The Cock-a-doodle-doo tom yum eggs were so delicious. One of my favorite things I've eaten all year. I also enjoyed the salad bites. The curry was also excellent. The lamb was nice and tender. Beautiful setting and lovely decor in this restaurant. Gets busy but it still feels intimate with the tables well separated by some partitions. Parking is right in front (2hrs max) if you are lucky to find a spot, or otherwise there is plenty to be found in the area. I had the Bangkok Red Curry with chicken which had a nice kick to it at spice level 2, with a big bowl of Jasmine rice. My friend had a vegan eggplant dish and a bowl of brown rice. Both looked good too. Service was friendly and he explainer everything well for my vegan friend. It took a while for drinks and dinner to arrive and my dish was a bit Luke-warm instead of piping hot (so I am subtracting one star) and my friend found a hair in her dish (yikes!!) it's a bit pricey for Thai food in general. read more

I came across this place going through Yelp and I had no idea you needed to make reservations as they are so busy! However, the host was so kind and was able to find a table for two. We were seated within 5 minutes. The restaurant was definitely busy but all employees were on their too game. Our waitress Sabiha was extremely kind and efficient. She checked on our table quite often throughout our dinner. We ordered crab ragoon wontons and they were delicious! So crispy! My Thai tea was 10/10 - I decided I'm going back for one before I leave Bend. Our plates were good portions. My husband got spice level 3 for garlic chicken and he ended up needing more spice. So if you love spicy food, I would go with a level 4 or 5. I ordered the black noodles with shrimp and they were amazing! Plenty of shrimp and filling! I also would have liked more spice so recommend level 3 over 2 for some kick! Overall food was amazing, service was great and honestly worth the price! We tried this while visiting Oregon for the weekend. We were having some trouble finding a place to eat on a Sunday night during a long weekend and luckily Noi Thai was able to accommodate our large group. The food was amazing. Everything we tried was great. We especially liked the crispy garlic chicken. The service was also great. The staff was willing to remake a drink we didn't like which we appreciated. There was a decent amount of parking available, but it is a downtown area so I wouldn't be surprised if it gets packed. read more

2:30-5:30 happy hour daily including weekends. The 10 dollar cocktail of the night was a delightful martini- not too strong but absolutely delicious. The garlic chicken and red curry were awesome. But the garlic chicken was better. My only sore point with the visit was that she gave us the option of four different rice to come with our meals but neglected to mention that the sticky rice was an up charge. The coconut rice which was included was way better anyway. The restaurant is upscale and a bit pricier than other Thai restaurants in the area. But all in all, great experience. read more

We had a party of 8 people and they were able to accommodate us before our reservation time. Staff were super friendly! They had plenty of seating, lighting and overall nice ambiance. We got a variety of dishes like panang curry, pineapple chicken fried rice, crispy garlic chicken, pad see ew, pad kee mao. Everything was tasty and delicious! The panang curry was served in a coconut and they brought out the coconut water. After the curry was finished you could kind of scoop out the coconut to enjoy. The pineapple fried rice was served in half a charred pineapple which was excellent presentation. Lots of food, portions were a good size. The spice levels are pretty accurate so a 4 spice level out of 5 was actually a 4. Whereas in some Thai restaurants the 4 is actually a 2 or a 3. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the Thai iced tea which was too sweet and they couldn't adjust the sweetness for us. Really loved this place. The menu is creative and modern while still being genuinely delicious, which is not always easy to find. Usually with more innovative fusion-style dishes, I'll try them once just for the experience and not necessarily come back, but this is a spot I'd happily visit again to try more of the menu. We honestly didn't have a bad dish. Everything was flavorful, well done, and the crab noodle was easily our favorite. The atmosphere was also really nice. We have been here three times and the service is always excellent, especially from Shayla who is not only attentive but has a great attitude as well. The bussers were also efficient and had great personality. We love the elevated look of this place. Most other Thai restaurants in this area are decorated more like fast food thats trying to be trendy. We really enjoy the food here. Had the chicken satay, pad thai and swimming Rama. Order was forgotten by the worker and after all my friends had finished their meals I headed back to the cart and asked about my meal. No apology given, said she forgot, and said 5 minutes . Central Oregon resident here and have dined at Noi Thai many times over the years. The restaurant is on a down turn. Food tastes like it is mass produced, little flavor and no recognition of "heat" requests. The facility itself is aging. I walked out with dirty stains on the tops of my pant legs from the underside of the dining table. For the cost, this will be a hard no for me in the future. Go to Wild Rose instead. Had a short wait since we visited on a Friday evening, it was pretty busy! It is located right in downtown so there is a parking garage or free 2 hour street parking (if you're lucky to find a spot). Our server was so kind and accommodating- that definitely made our experience better. The ambiance was a little more on the fancier side, but no special dress code or anything. Overall the food was very good, although I wish the crispy garlic chicken was actually crispy and the fried rice wasn't as mushy. The khao soi was good and had a good kick to it (with a level 2 spice). Good portion size as we did family style between 3 people and still had a good amount of leftovers. read more

The restaurant was thankfully able to take us right away. Our group of six sat down in a booth and the service was a bit slow. We ordered a khao soi, drunken noodles, cock a doodle doo, spicy eggplant, two papaya salads and a tom yum soup. We ordered varying levels of spicyness and discovered that the food wasnt spicy at all for most of our group who are seasoned spicy food consumers. The most delicious was the cock a doodle doo, tom yum and the khao soi, the remaining dishes were very lightly flavored and seemed to be missing many herbs and ingredients. The plain white rice was quite dry and didn't have nearly enough water. The rice quality was not there. The sticky rice was even worse and felt like a mass of carbs with no flavor. Later, we ordered two mango sticky rice and the volcano chocolate dessert. The mangos were decently ripe but the sticky rice was not good. Meanwhile, we were all shooketh at the state of the volcanic chocolate. It mainly looked like a chocolate egg with a hodge podge of few fruits they had at the time. Food 3.5 but decor 5.0. Nicely located around the downtown area and it is truly a beautiful restaurant from within. Food wise, it is not close to the best Thai food in bend and some of the fusion were not appealing to me but it is definitely an individual preference. Always love this place. Often go during happy hour which makes things cheap and the food is amazing. I was on the bar side and the server was so fast and caring. My Husband and I really enjoyed our 26th wedding anniversary with an absolutely wonderful meal at Noi Thai in Bend, Or. We made reservations for 6 p.m. on a Thursday night as we had no idea what kind of crowd they would have, and I am glad we did. When we arrived we were greated and seated without any delay. We ordered some beverages and an appetizer from Silas, our server, and both were searved to us promptly. The Crab Wontons were fresh, hot and tasted Fantastic. We both received our meals, both with healthy serving portions. Large enough neither of us had room for dessert. Came for happy hour and it was a lovely experience. We were traveling through Bend and were looking for a nice place to sit, eat, and wind down after a long drive. We're big fans of Bai Tong and we know the two restaurants are similar. If you go during HH, I'd note that the portion sizes are smaller than HH at Bai Tong. But overall, the taste of the food is very good. We left satisfied. The restaurant is cute and well designed. We appreciate that the bar area was spacious, especially when you want to do HH.
