I had a piece of the double choclate cake with raspberry filling. The outside had been dipped in a thin layer of chocolate. The cake was moist and had a good flavor for being from a bakery and not being homemade. The interior was a bit dated inside but obviously that doesn't have any affect on how the baked goods taste just something I noticed. This is long overdue, my family used to come here from Santa Barbara atleast twice a month but haven't been for a long time due to health problems. Very relaxing place with the best sandwiches on fresh baked bread with potato salad. Good soups and fresh hot coffee. So many good baked goods including, french waffles, custard puffs, neopoleans. I love danishes and the Danish. :) Solvang is filled with choices for both and if you're looking for a good place to have a danish, then you'll want to stop in Danish Mill Bakery. I love custard danishes and am very picky about them. Danish Mill succeeds in impressing me. The Apple fritter is enjoyable as well. The atmosphere is nice and the coffee smooth. Come on in. We came here with the kids in May and there were so many bakeries to choose from in Solvang but this one had the best variety and nicest staff. The selection was awesome. It was fun taking a big box back home and letting the kids pick 2-3 treats to have over the following few days; most important everything was so stinkin' delish! We can't wait to go back. read more

Danish Mill Bakery has a huge selection of goodies to choose from. I was a bit overwhelmed at first. The cashier was nice and every thing my friends and I bought were fresh and good, except for the cinnamon almond twist (I could have remembered wrong), that was a little stale. last christmas i was passing by solvang with my boyfriend that had no idea what a Kringle was. I really wanted a Kringle because i wanted to show him the uniqueness of this pastery. I then visited two other stores and saw two other kringles from sold right in front of my eyes. it was devastating. BUT DANISH Mill saved the day! Me and my friends stopped by at Solvang on the way back from LA to bayarea and had the best western desert we've had in our lives there.

Tons of of pastry choices. I remember those huge ones with decoratvie filling were the best! I will have to come back for more, they are more reasonably price than the other bakery I think. read more

Busy place, tried both the French waffle and cinnamon swirl pastry. Love, love the French waffle, the long and skinny pastry with cream and raspberry in the middle. Flaky crust, and JUST the right amount of sweetness. I also tried the one at Olsens, I definitely like Mill's better because Olsens's was too sweet. read more

we went in and it smelled so good! we had many options so we got one of each.. we tried 6 different pastries (french waffle, chocolate horn, almond cookie, rum ball, and I can't remember the names of the others) and didn't like a single one, I was very surprised because the reviews are pretty good.. maybe it was a bad batch? some of them tasted like refrigerator food, not fresh at all, wich is weird because it was 4th of july at about 5pm and it was packed, you would think everything had to be made the same day to meet the demand. the pastries left us very disappointed and sad, I actually threw mine away. we got them to go, we didn't seat and eat inside (I don't know if that would've made a difference ) read more

My husband and I stopped by here on our way up the coast for something sweet. Service was friendly and prompt. The best thing we got was the custard-filled eclair! Fantastic, just the right amount of sweetness. The other one we liked was an almond cookie with a big dollop of thick dark chocolate on top, then the whole thing is dipped in dark chocolate.
