    Cracklins

I've had cracklins up and down. Louisiana and NOBODY makes's cracklins like DANNY & BONNIE'S! I stop here every year I visit. I try to have it every other day. I eat the skin, and my honey eats the fat and meat. They are the best and they make them fresh when you order it. That spice and tartness make's it so yummy!

Pretty good but 3 stars because they overcooked mine. Yes made to order but looks and tastes a tiny bit burnt. Saw employee who saw me saw him pickup and eat a boiled shrimp while he was working in the kitchen.

I was told these were really good cracklins and I just HAD to try this since I was in town. I originally wanted to order 1/4 lb. but the worker got me and said "you're gonna make me work for a few cracklins?!" in a joking but not joking way. So I ordered half a pound instead. *rolls eyes* I was not really impressed, they were very hot and fresh, but super soft...and it had this vinaigrette, sour taste to it. I like of a salty seasoning taste, all that extra. And that's exactly why I wanted 1/4 lb...

My husband wanted poboys, so we stopped at this seafood place. He figured, we pass by several times a week, it was about time we gave it a try. A simple kitchen setup and outdoor seating, it's ideal for takeout meals--lunch or dinner. There were several well-priced daily specials, posted in writing on the glass window. We ordered the fish plate and were thrilled with the size of the servings. Half a dozen strips of fish, and some of the most delicious, local, New Orleanian style jambalaya and potato salad I've ever had. Our shrimp poboy was delicious. But the totally unexpected standout was the amazing fish plate. If you're a snowball aficionado, you need to try a Danny & Bonnie snowball this summer. The ice was shaved so finely -- and that makes all the difference with a snowball. I saved the best for last: the onion rings. Husband and I tagged on an appetizer of onion rings to the order. The moment our food was ready, we could smell the onion rings. They were perfectly prepared and served with a special dipping sauce. After dinner, the star dish was this misleadingly simple app. "We're going back there just for these onion rings!" It's happened again. I found a place so great that I don't even want to review it, for fear others will flock in and eat all the onion rings before I get there! We were so happy with our order, I want to keep Danny & Bonnie's all to myself!

Never too early for the best cracklin! Headed to the camp, impress your friends, pick up a pound!

Side of the road seafood market with good po-boys. Headed to Venice to fish or Bowfishing unlimited in port sulpher? Stop in and get some seafood to cook, sandwiches for the boat and definitely 2 bags of cracklin. One for the road trip and one for the camp.

When you first pass this place, you have no idea what to expect, but the reality is that it is really good. I have eaten here twice now and the food is really good. They serve boiled and fried seafood and po boys. The first thing I got here was fried cracklins which were amazing. Sure, it's not health food, but every once in a while I like to go "food slummin'". The second time I went, some friends and I got some crabs and crawfish that were fresh and amazing. It's the perfect thing to pick up when you are getting a group of friends together for a football game or something. I will definitely be back. I have yet to try one of their po boys, so that is definitely on the "to do" list.

best cracklin in the GNO (though what is that really saying?). Nice, subdued drive-up location for seafood. I don't know what the address is actually listed as, because it's not where Yelp tells you to go. This is at the entrance to Mel Ott Park (you'll find it faster)

Fast and friendly service! I come here to get all my seafood but the cracklings are addictive. Get the cracklings!

Good was ok. Skip the gumbo. Get the cracklings but make sure to get a small. Chewed so much my jaw hurt but they were tasty.

The cracklin prices are little higher than they need to be right now, but it is still worth every nickel.

First time eating a seafood boil in the South. I must say, the portion of food was not what I…read moreexpected. Let's just say that we ordered enough food that day, that we didn't even need to buy dinner. This location is about 15 minutes away from the touristy areas. It's surrounded by a ginormous beauty shop, a mochi donut shop (surprised to see it in Louisiana) and another Asian restaurant. When we first walked inside, I noticed that there was no host at the counter. So we waited and waited until someone acknowledged us. Let's just say that there was a lot of waiting during our visit. The prices were about the same as other seafood boil places in California. I ordered the combo 1 lb of shrimp head-on and 3lbs of crawfish, which automatically came with corn, sausage, and potatoes. I also ordered a half dozen of charbroiled oysters. As far as the charbroiled oysters go, it was ok. The night before we ate at Acme and the charbroiled oysters at Fiery Crab were nothing compared to Acme. My boyfriend ordered a chicken tender basket and calamari rings. One thing that I do want to mention is the sauce that came with the calamari and chicken tenders wasn't like any other sauce I've tasted. I don't know what they put in it, but it was good. I'm guessing it was ketchup and tartar sauce with a kick to it. I couldn't figure it out. My only complaints: Is the long waits and our server was nowhere to be found. Aside from that, our server was very friendly and provided us with what we needed when he did come around.

Ordered take off from this restaurant. We were on a weekend trip and wanted to make sure we tried…read moredifferent foods from Louisiana and we ordered the frog legs, shrimp and seafood gumbo. The frog legs and shrimp was nicely breaded and crunchy but a bit on the saltier side. Gumbo had a good base but lacked flavor and could have used bigger pieces of each ingredient. Overall for a takeout order I would say 4 stars. Items were pricer for Louisiana and the quantity. Only pictured are the frog legs. No experience on the ambience a because we ordered takeout.
