Ordered the catfish poboy from here for lunch today. Fish is very crispy and has a good flavor to…read moreit. Ordered it dressed with no tomatoes as I'm not a fan of tomatoes, sue me ‍. French bread they used was like a pillow and dressings were fresh. The gentleman who took my order was nice for front of house service as you just order at the counter and assumabky they package things to go. This worked for me since I was grabbing and going lol. My only take away that was negative in a sense is a preference. They do put a red sauce on the catfish poboy that I can't determine what it was as it didn't taste like hot sauce but like a version of it that was more cumin based and did overpower the fish a bit. I still tore it up though and the fish is worth it. Total price for the poboy plus a bottle drink was $15

I love giving places a chance. In New Orleans, the food bar is set high. This little place with…read morelimited seating, and menu, had my curiosity. Why not... Well, if you're going to push a culture's food, you have to go all in with learning the local ways of preparation. In gist, I have to knock off 1 star for the limited sizes for poboys. Offering out only the 12 inch or the meat on bun just seems wrong, ESPECIALLY if you will charge over $10 for any poboy. It's a poor boy after all! It's New Orleans and it was known for big portions for a cheap price. Granted, that was the way before Hurricane Katrina. You lose another star for not living up to a "fully dressed" poboy. A fully dressed poboy should never feel dry. Also, I asked for Crystals hot sauce on my poboy and you forgot it. That's a culinary sin my good people. Overall, these New Orleans implants did a good job on customer service in regards of greeting and giving you an approximate wait time. Outside of that, they need to write down what customers are asking for that isn't programmed into your computer. The menu offerings are decent, and pricing is set a little too high for my liking. You may feel different. Try them out and let me know what you think. Just letting you know that for me, the poboy was too dry, and the shrimp could have been seasoned a tad bit more.

This restaurant earned a review before you even taking a single bite -- and J&J Seafood is exactly…read morethat kind of place. We stumbled upon J&J on Yelp while visiting from out of town for a volleyball tournament. The reviews were great, and the fact that it's a standalone, independent restaurant -- not a chain -- made it even more appealing. We were so eager that we pulled up before they even opened and waited in the parking lot. No shame. Here's where we went wrong: we hadn't done our homework. J&J is takeout only -- no dine-in. Since we were heading out of town that same day with no hotel room to return to, sitting down to eat simply wasn't an option for us. We had to make the tough call to find somewhere else. But here's what made all the difference -- the gentlemen who opened that morning were absolutely wonderful. Despite our situation, they welcomed us in without hesitation, made sure we had a place to sit while we figured out our next move, and never once made us feel rushed or like an inconvenience. When we explained we'd have to leave, they were completely gracious and understanding about it. Warm, genuine, and patient -- like a family member who's just happy you stopped by, even without calling first. I left without eating a single thing, and I'm still thinking about this place. J&J Seafood, you have a customer for my next Louisiana visit -- and that's a promise.

No line, and I could smell the boil from the Main Street! Now, it's still early in the season so it was $8.99/lb but still worth it. Crawfish was juicy, flavorful, with tolerable spice! Listen, this is NOT a dine-in type of place, so get yours and find you somewhere else to congregate lol I love that it's a smaller, family owned business because the customer service is a 10, ALWAYS.
