DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE about YOUR CLOTHES! Do not take anything that needs to be dry cleaned. ( sweaters in particular) I brought one and after their " dry clean" it shrank significantly. They tried to solve the issue ( it took weeks of back and forth)but with no results. Eventually they admitted that it was washed. Obviously it could not be worn anymore. There is Maxene Cleaners across the street on 72nd. They know what they are doing. Professional and honest. It is literally 1 min walking so try there first. read more

Friendly and professional service. They do a good job. I wish the prices were lower, but they seem to be about average prices for the UES.

We have been sending our laundry here for months and they always do an incredible job. But I recently got a bridesmaid dress hemmed here and it was perfection. Fits great, great price, and they even went the extra mile to make a matching mask out of the extra fabric! They're pricey, but the work is fast and amazing. I've been coming here for years. I've had pants hemmed, sweaters dry cleaned, coats fixed, etc. The laundry service is out of my price range. I'll stick to the simple things. Service with a smile is a bonus. Give them a try, you won't regret it. read more

I brought my lovingly worn (read: very dirty from dancing til 4am) Rue de Seine wedding gown (French and guipure lace) to be cleaned. Knickerbocker cleaners had very sweet staff members and charged me an extremely affordable price (especially when compared to other cleaner quotes). Then, they made my dress look nearly good as new! I've used Knickerbocker for over three years and have been satisfied (but not wowed) with the service. The prices are high but about average for the area (welcome to the UES) we spend $50-$75 a week on dry cleaning. In the last 6 months or so they seem to be slipping a bit and today when I called at 11:00 am I was told I could not get my stuff back tomorrow evening! We are talking a day and a half from a place that claims to provide "Same Day" service? Sorry Knickerbocker I'll be using Maxene Cleaners (across the street) from now on. read more

WARNING! Please stay away from this place. I brought my favorite dresses for an important event across the country. When I can to pick them up they said they had been destroyed. The flight was the same day and I was distraught. The dresses were chosen specifically fo the event. The woman owner and her daughter looked up the brands and told me they would only reimburse me if I bought new dresses and provided receipts with the same prices. With limited time I ran to 3 shops bought simple dresses for the same price as the destroyed ones. When I returned, exhausted and rushed the owner told me she must see the dresses. She then gave me a list of reasons why she refused to reimburse me until I started sobbing and then called the police. She quickly wrote a check, and did not reimburse for cab. They threatened me and said their family member was a lawyer. Please save yourself the headache of having to deal with this business. I've now read a few other reviews and the theme is LOST, RUINED no responses and lies. read more

TERRIBLE. We live next door and have been loyal customers for 6 years. They recently misplaced a $700 suit and after our doormen presented proof that it was not delivered they did nothing to reimburse us. The man working in the store even admitted it was misplaced. The owners don't even have the decency to return our countless calls . It's outrageous that they are just ignoring the fact that they misplaced an expensive item. You cannot trust this place AT ALL. For all the dry cleaners in the area, there is absolutely no reason to take a risk on this place. read more

After being loyal customers for a number of years we noticed the quality started to deteriorate (burned stains on shirts, misplaced &/or lost items) over the past year. The final straw came a couple weeks ago when we brought my wife's new silk dress to be cleaned. The bottom line is they shrunk the dress, avoided multiple calls (and store visits) to discuss the issue, failed to follow up with us on a number of occasions, lied to us multiple times (they claimed the dress did not shrink yet my wife went to the store & measured it & they dress was smaller, then they claimed dress manufacturers allow for certain amounts of shrinkage in a dress (no they don't and I called a couple manufacturers), next they claimed they went to the store to ask about the sizing of the dress (store managers & sales associates told us they did not come to the store)), were rude to my wife on a number of occasions, and did absolutely nothing to help resolve the issue (despite multiple attempts on our part to come up with a reasonable solution to make the situation right). I have never written up a negative review on a business before, but I felt the need to warn people about this establishment. In addition to ruining an expensive dress they were unprofessional and dishonest. read more
