Finally, a dermatologist nearby that accepts my Healthfirst insurance! It was easy to make an appointment the next week, via their website. I had my first appointment today with Dr Cellura to remove a few things that were bothering me. One was covered by insurance the others weren't. I found the front desk to be courteous and helpful. The waiting room was clean and comfortable. I only had to wait a few minutes before I was seen. The nurse who called on me was nice and polite. The Dr. had an excellent bedside manner. At no point did I feel rushed. I had a few questions for him and he answered patiently and with all the details I needed. I felt like I was in good hands. For what I had done, the prices were fair and everything was explained upfront unlike other dermatologists I've seen. I would definitely come here again and see Dr. Cellura. read more

I am going to update my review to help out with the negative reviews. I have been seeing Dr. Parikh forever....seriously, no joke. I always go to him, he has done peels for me before and helped me. I have gone to other providers as well here, since Dr. Parikh is not always available when I have availability. Beginning of the year (2024), til now, I have been seeing Dr. Ahmed. She's new to the establishment, because she was filling in for some one else on mat leave. She is now permanent doctor there and available on certain days of the week. I haven't had any issues with anyone in the front desk for the X amount of years I have been here. I am talking about decades! PLURAL! Yes, Dr. Parikh does type on his laptop, because he is keeping good notes on your visits! I haven't ever felt offended by it and he has always been more than willing to answer my questions. Dr. Ahmed - love her energy and mannerisms. Both of these doctors I totally vibe with and they have shown me great bedside manners. The dude in the front with the piercing and fierce brows been super nice and great. Mind you, I haven't ever gotten a facial here, but as mentioned, only have gotten things burned off and peels, so my reviews are that and they have told me very directly when things were not covered by the insurance. Both of them have always shown me care for my pockets and never tried to gouge me for money. People who has booked through Zocdoc - if you ever had an issues with appointments, it is because Zocdoc isn't accurate. I have stopped using Zocdoc for that very reason, but use the site to find doctors, but not book through them due to inaccurate scheduling issues. I want to write this review to show I have a positive experience and never waited long in the waiting room. I forget if I ever have seen Dr. Leo, but I have seen Dr. Cellura and Dr. Greenberg, but Dr. Parikh and Dr. Ahmed are my go-to ones here. read more

Dr Greenberg missed doing a biopsy twice, over 6 month period that turned out to be a squamish cancer. It took 3 visits to get a biopsy.

I saw Dr Parikh by accident. I say this because I'm embroiled in the wonderful NYU Langone complex, except I couldn't make an appointment to see a dermatologist over there for four months and I found myself with my first case of eczema. Which suddenly landed upon me. With my Obamacare health insurance, I was shocked that I could actually go to a skin center in Tribeca, but thank you, HealthFirst, I could. Dr. Parikh was perfectly charming, even when I told him my NYU Langone story. Of course he knew right away what my problem was and he gave me the right prescription medicine to fix it. Yes, he was a little late to the appointment, but not more than what happens with a provider once in a while. read more

Went in for a hydra facial and it was good. The provider was pleasant and easy to talk to. It's probably the fastest hydra facial I have ever had. I was in and out in 35-40 mins. I'm accustomed to a bit longer of an experience-60 mins usually but my skin still looked great afterwards. They have skincare for sale in the lobby with a nice selection of quality brands. I would return for another service because they are so close to where I live. read more

Dr. Leo was recommended to me. I called to book full face laser. Mind you I'm at work and I have an upcoming business trip. Laser does not require insurance - I told mr. nonsensical & in my feelings that I don't not have my insurance info in front of me, but I provided my provider name, ("UMR, oh we accept them." He gives kickback because he so desires my insurance info. Again I tell him I'm getting laser a credit card will do just fine. I can provide my insurance info later. Needless to say nonsensical decides he no longer wants to take my appointment and hangs up. Thank you, I'll keep my credit card in my wallet, pass go to the upper east side for my full face laser. Very disappointed with the office. I waited 20 minutes to see a doctor and was told by the office manager that "doctors are usually running late." When I asked for my deposit to be returned I was told that it was non refundable. I have been visiting this office for many years so was really surprised at how dismissive the office was when I was upset about waiting and when I asked for my money to be returned to me. I am such a huge fan of Dr. Leo. I have been seeing her since 2011 and I don't trust no other dermatologist other then her. She's the best! Very kind and doesn't rush at all. She takes her time to listen to all your concerns and givens your several options on how you would want to approach the problem. She not afraid to look at any problems of the skin. The front desk folks are also nice and greet you kindly. if you miss your appointment without calling 24 hours before, they charge you for a missed appointment. read more

The office is clean and nicely decorated. Spacious enough to social distance if necessary. The receptionist was friendly and didn't give me a hard time when I said that all I had was a picture of my insurance card. (I get it, sometimes they want to make a copy, but hello I can just email you a picture of it). anyway, she was nice :) She also told me where the bathroom was without me asking! very hospitable. My appointment was at 1030, I think I got there at like 1015 thinking that I needed to do paperwork but there weren't any since I did them online. I was called back in like 2 minutes. Dr. Cellura was quick and efficient, but not to the point where it felt rushed. He obviously knew his stuff and knew what he was talking about so that's why it went that way. He explained everything and made sure I understood which is very important with doctor's appointments. I was in and out of my appointment by 1040. I just want to add one more example on this place: They put an extra charge on my bill and mark it as surgery for a small procedure (other clinics that I have been to had never done this). I had to pay out of pocket for this charge. This place is unethical and it will put an extra charge on your bill to get more money from you. Dr. Parikh is the consummate professional. He knows exactly what to do to have you looking like yourself... But MUCH better. He is kind, reassuring, and has a gift for knowing exactly what will work. The aftercare instructions, the little bag of products and ice packs I left with (based on my specific needs post visit) and the warm attitude of the entire staff were such a blessing. Of note, they have a selection of great products in the reception area. I bought some arnica gel on the way out (saving me a trip to Whole Foods). I had a top notch experience from the moment I called and spoke with the lovely woman at the front desk to schedule. I happen to be a nurse and would give ten stars if I could. Dr. Leo is awesome! I've seen her for almost 10 years. She's the best. She knows what she's doing and how to treat my skin problems. I have had keloids many times and every time I see her she knows how to treat it. It definitely isn't a one time visit for this type of treatment and she will tell you. I once had it on my face and she warned me that there will be a scar after treatment but I still did it. However, after the treatment, my face healed and there's no scar at all. She's the best and highly recommended. The only con is that sometimes she gets so busy that the wait time is over 40 mins and no one tells you she's behind schedule. She's definitely worth the wait if you want nice skin. read more

THE worst specialist experience I have ever experienced. Sherwin Parikh's interaction's attitude to me was one of rudeness and arrogance. I took 3 hours off from work to visit his clinic. He spent (not exaggerating) a grand total of 6-8 minutes with me, and during that time he never asked a single inquiring question regarding my condition. He did not examine my skin condition. I had to almost force him to look at my scalp which he glanced at for all but 2 seconds (tops) from about 2 feet away. Since he wasn't asking any questions I felt the need to proactively give him information about my condition to help him, hopefully make an accurate assessment...instead he just became more agitated and difficult. He prescribed some medication, but did not even have the courtesy or professionalism to tell me what the prescription was for. He was just was busy tapping away on his laptop...I am guessing to enter as much billing codes as possible so he can soak up as much insurance money as possible. I suppose if you are super wealthy and a famous Tribeca celebrity, who returns for regular $$$$$ treatments, you may get top notch service. But I felt like I was short changed and was bracing for a huge billl that would be unjustified. Furthermore I felt like I lost 3 hours of my life....all for what? 6-8 minutes of his oh, so valuable time. I would have gotten more helpful information from wikipedia than from this guy...and without attitude! At the end of 6-8 minutes, he walked out - no talk about "next steps", no further instructions. No "good bye"....he just left. The entire visit from entering the building to leaving the building was about 20 minutes. Oh...by the way....note the fancy display of skin care product display right next to the elevator as you leave....a last ditch attempt to sell you overpriced skin care products as you leave the premises....like candy and chocolate bar while at the cashiers line at the grocery store. I'm not sure why they have so many bad reviews. I've been here two times and they were pretty nice for the most part. They have portable chargers for your phone in the waiting area. Dr Rao is super polite and attentive. She doesn't rush you and will answer all your questions. Note: Don't walk up the stairs to the second floor because you won't be able to go in. You can only enter by using the elevator. That is super dumb if you ask me. read more

I was a patient at TSC for 10 years... You would think that after 10 years they deserve at least one more star, I mean I did keep going back, right? To cut to the chase, the last few years I saw Dr. Rao, who deserves a lot of stars, but she left and so the remaining doctors get one, just one. And the office staff- please. I stopped booking appts with Dr. Leo many many years ago after she did a procedure on my face without telling me it wasn't covered by my insurance. One down. I had seen Dr. Kil a few times and even recommended her once, but that was a mistake (my friend to whom I recommended her told me her shortcomings even before I figured it out). Last time I saw her it was like I was contagious- which as far as I know, I was not! She looked at my skin for maybe 15-30 seconds and made a diagnosis. I was there to ask questions about my skin care regimen too, but she shut the questions down so fast. I was out of the room in under 5 min. Questions unanswered. I do not recommend. read more

I have been very pleased with my treatments at Tribeca Skin Center. Dr.Erin Kil is my Dermatologist, and has been for over 7 years. Dr. Kil was the only Dermatologist who recognized my autoimmune skin condition. I went to the Head of Dermatology at Cornel, Mount Sinai, and several other top medical facilities, and they couldn't identify my condition. Dr. Parikh has been my doctor for 10 years. I first went to him for a skin cancer screening. He came highly recommended by a friend whose dermatologist misdiagnosed her with an ingrown hair on her scalp. She had skin cancer. Dr. Parikh caught it and she had surgery to remove the cancer and now she's fine. He's been an amazing confidante and only recommends absolutely necessary treatments. I asked him about Botox about 10 years ago. He told me I didn't need it and maybe in a few more years we can revisit the issue. He makes me look my best and natural. I love him, and cannot recommend him enough to my family and close friends. read more

I've been coming to this skin center for a few years now and glad to see the customer service has improved. The skin center was originally on Lispensard Street (much more quieter), but moved to Church Street now. This location is a lot better than it's old one, but a slight further walk from the Canal Street train station. The last two times that I've been here I've seen Dr. Erin Kil were good and went by quick. I came here to get a prescription refill on medicine for my eczema and also for the hives I often get. She's a very good and kind doctor and will definitely take the time to explain certain conditions and what they entail and much more. I would recommend her as a doctor! When I used to go to the Lispensard location, their technology was not up-to-date. However, now I'm grateful they can just send my prescription to the nearest pharmacy near my home or in my neighborhood. The front desk associates are pretty nice and friendly except for the older Chinese lady, she can be a little mean and unfriendly. Overall, a pretty nice and professional doctor office. I would highly recommend coming here if the skin center accepts your insurance. read more

Tribeca Skincare has everything I want in a dermatologist and mostly nothing I don't. I absolutely recommend them if they are convenient for you. They have a great selection of products for sale at the front desk and a great set of magazines in the waiting room. The admin staff is responsive over the phone. My doctor there is the first person who has been able to diagnose my skin condition after years of being misdiagnosed by other doctors.She is always pleasant and quick, yet thorough. Today she didn't have availability and responded to me on an issue by email! That is above and beyond in my book. There are two things I would change if I could. The first is that I wish they had an online booking system, that would really take things to the next level and reflect the premium service they offer more accurately. As you can see from the many bad reviews here, I'd stay away. What I experienced; Wait is very long. Receptionists are rude. Dr. will not fill simple prescription. They want me to come in for an appointment, when all I need is a simple prescription. I thought all I had to do was fill out the prescription refill at the top of the page, and put in my pharmacy phone number. Nope! I get some email telling me I have to come in, and who knows when they will have an availability. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Really wanted to like these guys, but they just want your cash. Quite literally the most frustrating medical experience I have ever had. Not only did DR. CELLURA completely botch my cyst removal procedure, but I have been billed nearly $1000 more for a procedure that I was told would be covered by insurance. Every other month they mail me an additional bill for something they didn't tell me about. AND The thing I paid them to remove is still FULLY INTACT ON MY BODY and I am down hundreds of dollars. Not to mention, the billing department has no idea what they're doing, as every time I call for answers I'm told something different. I literally just made this account to leave this review. I can't thank Dr. Greenberg enough for improving my overall satisfaction with my skin in the past month or so. At my first appointment, she helped me address some skin texture and breakouts, gave me a thorough mole check, and educated me about my options re: some cherry angiomas on my face. Limited service regarding mole removal, poor/hostile/indifferent attitude of providers. Total waste of three hours of my time spent commuting and waiting in the waiting room, only to have an indifferent/uninterested doctor glance at my mole and say "we don't normally remove things like that". I had called ahead to explain that I had a small facial mole which has been irritated and bleeding recently. Because of my busy schedule, I wanted sure that they could excise it the same day, which the receptionist assured me was possible. However when I arrived and finally met with the doctor, she told me: - they don't normally remove facial moles, I would have to see a plastic surgeon - if they did remove it, they would do something called a "shave biopsy" which would leave a large pink scar, and/or the mole may grow back speckled or darker than before - this procedure is cosmetic and would cost $300 out of pocket - you have to sign a waiver saying that you understand it could leave an unsightly scar - even if I wanted the shave biopsy, it would have to be scheduled for another day I then met with the owner of the practice, and told him that I was disappointed/upset that they could not even do the shave biopsy the same day, when I had indeed verified with the receptionist that they could. He then grew very hostile and said "Well fine, we can do it today. You want it today? We'll do it today at five, how about that? Do you want it or not?" I said no of course. I didn't want an openly angry person hovering over my face with sharp instruments. Overall I left very disappointed with the whole thing. When I called one of my doctor friends afterwards, he told me: "Oh that's normal, they are famously rude at TriBeCa Skin Center" read more

I like the doctors here. My complaint is the wait time. It doesn't seem like it's packed here. However, the wait is always at least fifteen to twenty minutes. I have waited 30 minutes to be seen once. I like Dr. Ral. She is my favorite. Dr. Leo is also nice. The Korean/Asian looking doctor was not friendly. You want a really great dermatologist? Select from any of the seven at the Tribeca Skin Center. I went here upon the recommendation of a good friend (isn't that how all New Yorker's acquire doctors?) and I must say that the experience was probably one of the best doctor's visits I've ever had (and I hate going to the doctor). This is the most aesthetically pleasing, calm, hip, cool doctor's office I've ever been to. The front desk staff are very friendly and there's zero attitude. They handle all things skin related including botox, laser treatment, cancer screening, skin biopsy, collagen, etc. Before you visit, go to their website and fill out the first time patient registration information, which is a huge time saver upon your first appointment. There is also a list of accepted insurance plans on their website which is quite helpful when searching for a doc. read more

They cancelled my appointment because I refused to sign their legal agreement which said I was fully responsible for all charges not covered by insurance, (regardless of the price or amount), and that I give them permission to charge my credit card for such charges. I booked an appointment on Zocdoc with Dr. Leo. Shortly afterwards they sent me an email with a legal form that they said I must sign and send back to them within 24 hours or else my appointment will be cancelled. Their form stated that I agree to give them my credit card information and that they may bill my credit card for any charges not covered by insurance. Apparently, I would be legally responsible for whatever price that they charge. I called the front desk and said I don't feel comfortable signing a legal form in which I'm legally responsible for any charge, without first knowing the price and negotiating the terms. I also objected to authorizing them to bill my credit card immediately for any charge, at any price, not covered by insurance. I asked if I could edit the legal agreement so that I would only be responsible for services that were negotiated beforehand. This way I know the price and I don't have to worry about a surprise medical bill at inflated prices. The front desk said that absolutely no changes can be made to their legal form and recommended that I go see another doctor. They then cancelled my appointment on Zocdoc. I highly advise patients of Tribeca Skin not to sign their legal form. It puts the patient legally on the hook for almost any charge that Tribeca Skin submits. It exposes the patient to potentially tremendous financial liabilities. The agreement is very one sided and gives the patient no recourse if they disagree with the amounts charged. read more

This is the first time that I have gone to a specific doctor based SOLELY on yelp reviewers (and the fact that they take my insurance). I made sure to make my appointment with Dr. Parikh based on all the extra positive reviews of him. The place was a little sterile for my taste and the front desk people all seemed a little zombie like (11 15 may be too early for them) But Dr. Parikh was bubbly and charming. He did work fast but he didn't rush me out and when I asked additional questions he gave me sufficient explanations and a big smile.
