I had rashes around my eyes and on my neck the week before I had to travel to go to a wedding, and I was worried I would not be able to do my makeup. I scheduled an appointment to see Dr. Pistilli the day before I had to leave, and she prescribed me cream to apply to my rashes. My skin instantly became better, and I was able to wear makeup to the wedding. The rash on my neck had been bothering me for the past year, and I wish I had scheduled an appointment earlier! I went back a few weeks later for a follow-up appointment, and Dr. Pistilli prescribed me some more cream if my skin decides to flare up again. I am extremely happy with my first experience seeing a dermatologist, and I will definitely go back in the future if I need to! read more

Would not recommend this office. I came in for a general appointment and a skin cancer screening with a female doctor. I shared a list of other concerns with the medical assistant. After the screening, I was left alone in the room for 15 minutes with no follow-up. I had to go into the hallway to find out what was happening. Barry told me he couldn't see me because a different doctor did the screening--something no one explained beforehand. He blamed me for requesting a female doctor and said I'd need to wait another 30 minutes or rebook entirely, since she was the one billing me. He got defensive and unprofessional, despite being the owner. He later apologized and offered samples, but the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth. The poor communication and lack of accountability made me feel like an afterthought, not a patient. read more

Thank God i took the advice of a friend and have been going for annual dermatology checkups. Doctor Goldman can be considered a life saver. A rarity walking into any doctors office these days and have such a pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable staff to begin with. Doctor Goldman was great, but I can't say the same about the staff. I had to reschedule my follow up appointment last minute due to a work emergency, but they still charged me $70 for "last minute cancellation". Their policy explicitly mentions about fees for last minute cancellation and nothing about last minute rescheduling. Either way, staff was not understanding; their tone came off as strictly business - left a bad taste. Recommend the doctor, can't recommend the staff. read more

Dr. Goldman is knowledgeable, funny and makes me feel comfortable. He always has a knowledgeable point of view and is willing to hear mine, if I have any reservations to what he's suggesting. I've been with Dr. Goldman since Aug 2021 and have gone in around 4 times since then - each time has been consistently great. His office staff are also very organized, gives great service and easy to work with. He does have some helpers who are less knowledgeable and didn't give me proper guidance but Dr. Goldman would correct them when he found out. Not a fan of this place. Even though I emailed them all my insurance info the day before, rather than verifying it, they waited till the time of my appointment. So I'm stuck waiting till they got my insurance on the line to see the doctor. This should have been resolved the day before. Update: The doctor did call to apologize, which I appreciate. That was all I needed from the receptionist was an apology about the inconvenience. It's like when you're a server and the cook messes up the order. When the customer complains, you don't tell them - "Well, I didn't cook it." You apologize and you have the cook redo it. That's it. An apology goes a long way. read more

Excellent experience. I had a mole on my back I wanted looked at. I found Dr. Goldman on the Oxford insurance website, he was in-network, and he saw me within the hour. Doctor was pleasant, friendly, knowledgable. I only waited a few minutes to see him. He diagnosed my problem, and he also removed a lipoma from my arm during the same appointment. His nurse/assistant was very professional and efficient. I will go back to see Dr. Goldman whenever I have any other dermatological problems. I had an acne apt & skin cancer screening with Dr. Radoszycki. She and her staff were fabulous, I instantly felt comfortable even though a skin cancer screening is usually far from it. She laid out all my options in regards to my acne, and when I realized she forgot to give me a prescription that she had briefly mentioned earlier in the appointment, I emailed her and within an hour it was sent to my pharmacy. Pretty impressive. I'll have to follow up with her soon to see how my progress is, but so far, nothing but a great experience! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Goldman for about two years now and couldn't be more pleased. I'll start of by addressing his excellence in applying Botox; my skin always looks smooth and youthful within a couple days of leaving his office. Also a big plus is that it helps my migraines, it's not a myth, it really works! Now onto my skin issues... I don't really leave reviews unless I am really dissatisfied, so here you go. Two stars just for the pretty good location and no unpleasant exchanges of words with the doctor during the treatment. Below is my personal experience so you guys should decide whether this can apply to you or not. I tried to stay factual and objective, but one individual's experience can never represent this practice, entirely. Based on my own research on the test I took at this place, I concluded that this place is (extremely) overpriced even considering it is in Manhattan. I've compared the price of the test that he advised me to take, which I ended up taking, to a couple of other places including some big names that offer the same test in Manhattan. I've also compared the price to the ones in other states, which of course were much much less than what this place charges. That was understandable, but it's unacceptable when the price's incomparable to other practices in Manhattan. I refer to it as a test but technically, it consists of multiple tests, and the number of tests that the doctor performed was also excessive. I know this because another doctor (allergist) that I often visit told me that this was unusual number of tests that is normally unnecessary and rare. Well, maybe Dr. Goldman had a reason to test that many, so I wouldn't question this too much. Oh yeah, my allergist, who's in Manhattan, also told me that what I was charged for was too much. His eyes were popping out when I told him how many tests and how much this place charged me... This test used up a half of the deductibles of my high deductible plan for the year. (Of course, the doctor costs were extra.) I called the billing department to ask for a financial consideration. The person I spoke to promised that she would get back to me by a specific date after she asks the doctor, and she never called me back. I called back after a few weeks and she claims that she never got my call. Okay maybe it wasn't you, but all the circumstances were telling me that it was her. I didn't call to argue about this, so, I went ahead and asked this person again, and she said she would call me back by a specific date after she asks the doctor. Again, she never called by the date she promised. I was kinda giving up, but she ended up calling me back after a few weeks and saying that she spoke to the doctor and told me that they cannot offer anything other than a payment plan, which she offered me from the beginning. So they kept the charge as is. I am not even sure if she actually spoke to the doctor. What was the result of the test? All negative. Lucky me! His first diagnosis on my symptoms quickly changes to something else after the test result. He flips through his dermatology book of pictures to show some similar looking symptoms and gives me a prescription that he recommended me to try first. Well, it didn't work on me. He might have fixed my problems if I kept going back to his practice and trying different prescriptions, but I never did. It was just too expensive and untrustworthy (of the doctor's ability and the practice's honesty) by that time. I still carry this skin troubles and I chose not to fix this although it really bothers me because I would rather just suffer from this than paying this much. This practice gave me a pure financial fear of doctor's visit and so much life lessons. To give the doctor some credit, he did ask me to choose whether I want to take this test or not as he was also bringing up the fact that I have a high deductible plan. What I was not clearly informed was how much it actually costs or vaguely if it's expensive or not. The bill was a total surprise to me because I never thought that such test would cost that much. So, the blame goes to myself as well. This to me was a great example of how screwed up the US medial system is...but let's not get there...It's too political! read more

Excellent dermatologist. After being misdiagnosed by another dermatologist, Dr. Goldman quickly gave me the correct diagnosis and treatment. They even got me into the office immediately when I called (I was next door and they let me come straight over). He spent a lot of time explaining everything to me, listening to me, and showing that he truly cares. He's one of those guys who talks really fast because he's incredibly smart and his brain processes information faster than the average person... that's the exact type of person I want as my doctor! His office staff are awesome as well (front desk and nurse) and the office is very clean, modern, newly re-designed, and exactly what you'd expect from a top NYC doctor. They even have a fridge in the waiting room with free bottles of Poland Spring and Pierre water. I highly recommend Dr. Goldman and plan to keep him as my dermatologist for as long as I'm living in NYC. read more

I was referred to Dr. Goldman by a friend of mine recently. I've never really had many skin issues, so it's not like I have a dermatologist in my back pocket and I was in dire need of some help. I had a zit on my face for the last four weeks from a facial I got at Bliss Spa - apparently they aggravated my face enough to result in a cyst on my cheek. Dr. Goldman was very nice and he explained all of my options to me - such as a cortisone shot or just applying a special cream. He also explained the pros and cons of each method. I will definitely return to see him for future problems before they get to this level. He only gets 3 stars because my appointment was at 10am (I arrived 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork) and I did not actually see the doctor until 10:45am. Waiting 45 minutes for a doctor is a little ridiculous. read more

Iam VERY happy I saw dr. Goldman. I woke up with two plush red cheeks a few days ago. An allergic reaction to a makeup I used. My cheeks were burning, itchy and just plain uncomfortable. My boyfriend had recommended me to Dr. Goldman. He had spoke so highly of him on how Dr. Goldman got rid of a cyst on his face a few years ago and had no scaring from it. I took his advice and yelped his practice before going. (I have never had any skin issues and wanted to do my homework on the doctor I was seeing- not to mention leaving for vacation in a day) I was a little apprehensive at first - but when I called first thing in the morning; 9am, the secretary was so friendly and informative. She asked if I can come in right now, which I could, and without me asking asked if I had insurance. I told her I did not and she gave me the price of the visit without insurance. I hardly waited long to see the doctor and once I did he gave me a brief description of the cream he would prescribe me and how my skin had probably reacted poorly to the makeup I had used. He promised me my face would clear up on time for my vacation and it did! Overall I had a great experience at Dr. Goldmans office. I went to see this doc for my molluscum on face. There was 4 lesion on my face. He did remove two of them using curettage. And gave me finacea creme for rest of two. I was trying to get pregnant at that time. I got pregnant same month and stop using the creme. I should have removed all of them using curettage. Those two spread in to two more at different spot since my immune system is not that strong in pregnancy. Meanwhile, i met another doc who was closer to my house. He did not remove them and told me that they are not harmful and i should leave them as it is. But they are spreading. Based on my experience with two other dermatologist. My experience was best with Dr. Goldman. Now i am waiting to go back and remove them from my face. read more

Dr. Goldman is an excellent doctor. I have been a patient of his for years now. When any of my family or friends need help with their skin, I send them to Dr. Goldman. He's helped us with everything from eczema to acne, and he always puts the patient first (never trying to push expensive treatments or medicine that you don't need.) He also happens to work extraordinarily well with children who have autism. He understands how to connect with them, and treats them with such respect and kindness. I went to see Dr Goldman a couple months ago for a full body, sun-damage skin check. He said I was fine and sent me on my way. Yesterday I saw another dermatologist for another reason, and this dermatologist immediately caught questionable moles from sun exposure. I wasn't even there for that reason and he saw them! I am greatly disappointed with Dr Goldman and will never go back to see him. Thank goodness I went to see this other doctor, who is way more thorough!! read more

Rant: You know, I am actually not as angry as you may think after you hear the way I was disrespected by Dr. Goldman. So baffling. This was my 3rd visit at which I was going to be prescribed a very strong medication for my resurfaced, stubborn adult acne (first 2 visits were fine). I was on this medication in the past and along with it I was prescribed prescription strength 'chapstick' for the excessive dryness that it causes for many people's lips. Everything was going just fine until I asked Dr. Goldman about the prescription chapstick to which he replied verbatim: "The answer is no." What?? I was thrown off because of how blunt he was. Like how one says no to a kid, and I'm 26! AND he said it more than once. To make things worse, in the following minutes, he proceeded to insult me more: - "You're asking me to remember something you were prescribed five years ago from some other dermatologist??" No, I am just telling you about a very common and inexpensive ointment that I used and others who have taken this medicine have used. - When I finally just said that I thought he had sounded blunt (I was going to regret it if I left his clinic without letting him know), he said, "I think you are blunt and pushy for having me put you on this medication." Seriously?!?! I didn't even know what to say! It was like I was quarreling with my sibling. You're a doctor! It would be really irresponsible and you would probably commit medical malpractice by prescribing really strong pills to someone if you didn't think they should have them! You're so full of it. - "I've known you for like, what, a month?" Read my file, that was my 3rd visit and it's been 2 months (minor gripe). - Also when I told him I thought he was blunt, he said that some people like doctors with a blunt personality. He was not blunt. He was really rude and I highly doubt anyone would want such a dermatologist when trying to get help for something as debilitating as acne. I wish I was making this up. At least I was refunded the $95 that I paid to see him. I don't usually write Yelp reviews unless I am really annoyed or really impressed with a place. This dermatologist was terrible. I had an appointment to remove a wart on my arm. First off, they went way overboard, and have a big scar fromw here they burned. Secondly and this is a huge deal, the lady charged me extra $52.10 on TOP of my copay. This is ridiculous, I have never heard of them charging that much extra to destroy a wart. No problems what so ever with the medical staff or treatment I received, but they have tried to bill me twice for the same procedure and several weeks after first flagging the issue and sending over the documentation they asked for, I'm still receiving bills in the post and no answer to emails. Very poor. UPDATED- I just called them after over a month of no response to repeated emails chasing up the one where I sent the info they requested. Woman on the phone was rude and told me I had to contact someone else. Why they couldn't have told me a month ago, I have no earthly idea.
