This company is TERRIBLE! They will try to take advantage of you. My girlfriend locked her keys in her car. We called for service, on the phone no pricing information was given to us, the lady said that the tech would give us the estimate of the scene. When he arrived, he looked at the car and immediately said it's gonna be $285 plus a $75 service fee! We refused the service because my girlfriend's insurance was not gonna reimburse that much money. They told us now that there was going to be a $125 cancellation fee! WHAT??? None of this information was disclosed to us on the phone, their shady tactic of avoiding telling you pricing on the phone to wait til the tech gets there, and then giving you an outlandish price of $360 and THEN to top it off, trying to get a $125 cancellation fee when you refuse is RIDICULOUS! This is bad business all around, this company should not even have 1 star on google let alone 5! They were taking advantage of people. When we refused to pay the cancellation fee the lady on the phone said that SHE WAS GOING TO FILE A POLICE REPORT AND SEND THE INVOICE TO COLLECTIONS! EXCUSE ME?? Locked myself out of my car and called this place for a quote. Woman on the phone said she couldn't give me a price but once the technician arrived at the scene he would give me a price. Seemed logical since some cars may require more work. Guy drove out to tell us it was going to be 400$ to unlock the car. We denied service because my insurance would not reimburse me for an amount that high for a basic service. Woman on the phone called us back saying we needed to pay $125 cancellation fee that was never discussed over phone and neither was price. We felt extremely taken advantage of and she threatened to go to the police and file a claim against us if we didn't pay. The worst experience I've ever received from a service. We called another company who would come out for 100$ ! Shame on this company for their shady practices! Avoid this place at all cost and find someone who will disclose pricing upfront. I needed a couple of locks rekeyed. Based largely on Yelp reviews, I called Danny Keys. The locksmith arrived, as promised, in about 45 minutes, looked at the locks and provided a cost estimate. Locksmiths aren't cheap! But it was in line with what I had expected, so I approved it and he went to work. Upon completion, he gave me the new keys, and I verified that they fit and turned the lock. Late in the evening, when I decided to lock the doors for the night, I discovered that on one door, while I could lock it from the outside, I couldn't remove the key. And from the inside it wouldn't lock at all. So I called Danny Keys, explained that I really don't want to leave a door unlocked overnight, and a different locksmith came out, as promised, in about 45 minutes. He said one of the locks had been installed incorrectly, plus there was a difficulty with the other. He fixed both. I really should have done a more thorough check before letting the initial guy leave, but I am impressed that Danny sent somebody out late at night to promptly fix the problem. The locks have been in place now for over a week, so I consider this job completed and will call Danny Keys should need arise in the future. read more

Wanted an extra motorcycle key made and was referred to this place by ACE hardware as ACE didn't have the correct blank. Admittedly, I know nothing about keys....coded, chipped blah blah. Said their automotive guy would have to come in to do it. I figured something special needed to happens to cut a motorcycle key for it to work so the $65 seemed justified. I however couldn't wait until next week when the automotive guy would be in. So the guy just cut a key and alas it worked. Charged $65 for something that at ACE would have been $8. They were helpful and ultimately got me a key that worked but I wouldn't do business again with a place that operates this way. Probably great for emergencies but this wasn't one of them. read more

I've had outstanding experiences with this place. Two weeks ago they fixed a complicated three-point lock on our back door, and did preventive maintenance on a similar lock on a side door. A great handyman we use had said it would cost about $800 for a new locking mechanism. Total charge from Danny Keys: $150. Then, a couple of days ago, the inside door knob and "tailpiece" fell out of our front door, which meant we could open the door from the outside but not the inside. We had to pantomime through the window to communicate to people to come into the house--that got old in a hurry. ;-) I tried reattaching the parts myself but had no luck. Called Danny Keys this morning and 15 minutes after the tech arrived, one part was replaced, another re-drilled, and the knob and tailpiece were firmly back in place. Highly recommend this place for their prompt service and knowledgeable, friendly techs. read more

Our battery died on one of the locks we use in our building. We rarely use that unit so it we did not get any notice the battery was dying. We got Danny's phone number from one of the guys in our building. He quoted an arrival window of 30 mins and arrived ON TIME !
