Fun place to eat at! It's pretty loud because they're blasting kpop videos. Lots of soju flavors too if you like to drink. The food is decent if you wanna grab something late at night, but it's mainly a drinking place. The spicy fried chicken wings are really good! Ddukboki is okay, and bean paste stew is also mediocre. Bulgogi decent. I hear the scallion fried chicken is supposed to be legit, but haven't tried it yet. read more

It is a bar with nice Korean feel to it. It is filled with wooden chairs with Korean graffiti on the stakes. The service was good but the food didn't come with any bang chans at all so it is really a bar. They charged me another dollar for the rice bento with a fry egg and bean paste sauce. This place brings me back to drinking lemon suju in Seoul Korea. Totally drinking style restaurant. Love the boiled pigs feet ( jokba). Between three adults, we could not eat it all. My only complaint is that they got stingy with the lemon suju. On second and third visit, it was about half the amount. We complained. So we didn't go back. The thing is, you can get better food cheaper, but the emphasis with this type of establishment is drinking with friends. Its fun. They have Korean pop video's going. The business model should be cheaper liquor and make up the difference with the food you sell. They do this all over Korea. I do understand that the cost of Korean liquors go way up on imports. Not at what they charged. Did see a famous Korean baseball player for the Texas Rangers. He was kind enough to sign personal photos. Won't give away his name. Fantastic place to get Korean and the food comes out in large portions so come with friends! They have a large list of food and drinks and the service is always friendly. If you can't decide on what to get I recommend the spicy Korean chicken and some soju. The Korean music is a lot of fun. The area is a bit shady around the freeway but don't let that deter you whatsoever. Only complaint is that it takes them freaking forever to ring up credit cards, even for a group of 6 with the bill pre-split. Not sure, maybe it's their system. I would give them your cards maybe 30 min before you want to leave. This has happened twice now. They also scan all Texan IDs ahead of time to make sure they are real, just a heads up. The atmosphere is lively over the weekends but the food is great all week long. We frequent this place for its kimchi soup with ramen for late night satisfaction. We ordered a few rounds of soju along with some food. Total disappointment. Strike 1: The soju glasses were delivered warm. Strike 2: Their service bell doesn't work, and we were left wondering why no one ever came by. It was after asking them why they didn't respond to the bell, that we were informed that it wasn't working. Strike 3: The food was awful. We ordered a clam soup type deal. It was plain water with some clams tossed in. Usually, the broth should be thick and dense. This one was a thin greenish tinted water. Then there was this rolled egg platter type thing The platter was impressively large, but only had a few rolls of eggs strewn about, with a scoop of some kind of cole-slaw-ish salad in the middle of it. First time ever going to this place, and I have to say that it was amazing! We ordered the Mandoo Tigim (fried dumplings) for an appetizer, then I had the Bool Dahk (super spicy chicken), while my partner had the JaeYuk Bokum (sweet and spicy pork and veggie). We both tried the Yogurt Soju, which was yummy. But, oh man that stuff will sneak up on you and fast! Overall this restaurant is by far a damn good place for food and drinks. The atmosphere itself is very comfortable, yet lively. The waitstaff were super friendly and professional. Don't speak Korean? No problem, cause they speak and understand perfect English. My party of two ate here in early June. We've become addicted to Korean food and are trying all the restaurants in the area. DSS served up one of the best and surely the worst entree I've ever had in an Asian restaurant. Spicy pork in sauce was fantastic, better than the other very impressive offerings I've tried at other nearby establishments. Spicy seafood soup was quite good. Pan fried mackerel was great. Yogurt soju was AWESOME. That stuff is just plain dangerous. I liked the dark ambiance and the booths. The waitress call button is a great idea - if you don't hit the button, she leaves you in peace, which we much like. The waitress was a friendly blonde girl who did a fine job. We're white rock and rollers who dress like bums yet we felt at ease. Overall it's a pleasant atmosphere. The lone problem was the octopus in spicy sauce. I've eaten and prepared octopus all over the globe for 40 years and this was the toughest, most rubbery, flavorless, utterly unchewable food I've ever seen. I've never seen what may well be the most flavorful of all seafood in such a tragic state. The sauce and veggies were very nice, but that octopus was inedible. I should have sent it back but we were having such an otherwise pleasant experience that I didn't bother, so including the tip that was $20 down the drain. One would think such a disastrous entree would drag a rating down to 3 stars or less, but the rest of the experience was favorable enough to barely nudge the rating to 4 stars. It was expensive for a casual meal - $91 for dinner and drinks for two, including tip - but overall we enjoyed ourselves. I expect we'll return to try several things that we couldn't squeeze into our first time, with the various types of fried chicken (washed down with more yogurt soju) high on the list. read more

Came here at around 1:30 am. Trying it out because a friend reccomended this place. Came with a group of 4 and we ordered ttuckpocky with ramen, chicken dish, seafood pancake and ribs and coleslaw. Dishes were pretty huge. My favorite would be the spicy rice cake and ramen. Pretty spicy and delicious... Also had butternipple shot and lemon head shot. Not too shabby :) Place is pretty roomie. This place is a mess DO NOT COME HERE I came in at 9 pm with my sister was sat down at a dirty table we even saw cockroaches on our seats and table we asked to move and the waiter was giving us "why the fuck eyes" and when we tried to order we couldn't get anyone attention so I had to get up and get the waiter who was just sitting in a booth with he coworkers must of been 5-10 minutes before he came to take our order . We finally ordered the GALBI and the spicy stir fried octopus and the jakbol , the jakbol was so bland and flavorless we ate as much as we could and left the rest the GALBI was so salty like it was left in soy sauce for years and the stir fried octopus was the best thing out of all three . A person I knew worked here before and my friends went here couple of times and said it wasn't bad. It was my first time. I loved the interior of the place and how we were sat next to the wide screen tv. Music video was playing and it was nice since it was a song that I haven't listened to for a really long period of time. The lights were also cute! lively, and it was pretty amazing how so many people signed on the booths or the walls. It was interesting reading them. BUT Their service was horrible. I spoke in Korean and had to repeat myself multiple times. They still forgot our rice and took two waiters for our orders to be placed. They were rude since I had a non-Korean friend with me and they kept staring. We waited almost 35 minutes for our food (2 orders) and they even had the guts to come out of the store and ask us to tip. Came here for the first time and ordered three plates. I would give 3 stars for two of them: the shrimp with cream cheese and the mussels soup. However, I ordered a kimchi seafood with tofu soup and it was so bad. I would give 1 star for that. The broth was too salty like Tteokbokki sauce, and the seafood in the soup are just squid tails. Service wasn't good at all, just only one man served in this place. I just feel uncomfortable coming here. Don't recommend this place. read more

Its a must for me to stop here everytime I visit Dallas...esp in the wee hours after singing karaoke or a night out...their bulgogi is great, ddak-jim and so is the ra-bokki....and you cant beat the $1 rice boxes that they have that comes with rice, an egg, and anchovies...yogurt soju is also a must! read more

Went out with a few friends the other night after the club and thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. The food was great, service was delightful, and they even encourage you to graffiti your name or messages into the walls or benches. We sure did have a lot of fun with our markers! This is a great place for post-night-out grub. But when you're in the mood for some korean dinner like you're used to at home... not the place. So if I take it for what it is, this place is perfect. They have lots of soup dishes. Make sure you are with some friends because they are big soup dishes made for sharing. The one we got was some variation of ramen. Rice boxes come with a fried egg and side of kimchi. We also ordered the fried chicken and dukkbukee which was a little stiff for my taste but still did its job after a long day at school. If you are looking for napkins, take a moment and look around over your head and on the sides of the booths because they had chopsticks and papertowels stored up there... we found out after the we called the server over for napkins and thats where he got them. lol. The booths are covered in sharpie art... and the place is slow during regular dinner hours. Overall I'm pretty sure I'll be back sometime when I'm in the area and have the munchies. read more

Man, this place is a dive, but they've made a lot of improvements in the past year or so, including a significant expansion, improved air conditioning and better food. And, since there really aren't that many choices in the way of Korean bars, it's usually pretty packed (with Koreans). The food has gotten much better lately and the best deal is the dosirak ($2 for some rice, a fried egg and some stir fried kimchee). They have beer, makkoli (Korean wine) and soju (a potato wine; similar to Japanese sake). The makkoli and soju come in a variety of flavors if you want to try different things. There's one screen, which is used to show mostly Korean music videos (the music is Korean). Fyi, they'll let people smoke most nights so it can be very smoky. There's also a small bar in the main area and a larger bar in the back area, along with sofas and couches for a more intimate feel. Most of the tables are sectioned off with barriers to provide privacy, but they also tend to keep the staff from seeing you (so be prepared to hunt them down if you need more of anything). Pretty much, it's a place to go for drinks and some light dishes/snacks, but it's always fun and I tend to always come back here eventually. read more

My friends and I usually come here for a good night of drinks and talking. The food prices are a bit pricey, but it is a bar so that is expected. The food is pretty good here too. We usually get 1 big plate of bo sam or some kind of meat and 1 soup to share between usually 5 to 6 people. For drinks we get the usual soju/beer and sometimes the cocktails for the ones who dont feel like soju. The service here is also really friendly I love it so much. The atmosphere is like a typical korean bar with music and very dark inside. It's a nice experience to have if you've never been. I will always come back here for a good time with friends until we get a bad experience. read more

I don't think their food is all that great compared to the other korean restaurants around, but it's not bad. And there are a few dishes that you don't typically find elsewhere.
