The pizza is classic, crispy crust, sweet sauce and flavorful sausage. They have a pretty nice gluten free section of the menu too. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with all the fixings on a tender gluten free bun that was just the ticket. Our service was phenomenal.Cheers to Christian! The Cubs were getting crushed by the Giants,so we left the game early so the restaurant was not too crowded. We were seated immediately and our server Christian was great. We started with a round of drinks and ordered their signature Chicago style sausage pizza. An 18 inch pizza was about 30.00. The pizza was amazing... sausage was great and their sauce is so flavorful. My wife opted for a GF chicken sandwich with fries which was huge in size and she loved it. My wife and I decided to give D'Agostino's a try before seeing a movie. My wife was excited to try the pizza because she heard so many great things. When entering the restaurant we were greeted by the host and told to sit anywhere. We chose a booth in the bar area. The restaurant was noisy. It is a pizza restaurant and pub so that wasn't the issue. Between the dining room and bar I counted eight tv's. A bit excessive for such a small space. There was a large party with four adults and ten kids. The adults sat, talked, and drank while the kids ran and screamed throughout the restaurant. The staff should have insisted the children remain seated with their party. It was dangerous to the staff and patrons to have children running and screaming throughout the restaurant. Sorry, but this is not a playground. The waiter brought menus to the table and took our drink order. We ordered a pitcher of green beer. The beer was shipped in the keg green. The green beer on tap was Miller Lite. It was a great way to start our dining experience on St Patrick's Day. We ordered our pizza at the same time. We opted for an extra large thin crust with green peppers, mushrooms, and sausage. When the pizza was brought to the table it had onion instead of green peppers. Our waiter apologized and stated he wrote down onion instead of green peppers. He stated he would get us another pizza with green peppers, but we decided to eat the pizza with onion instead. We had tickets for a movie within the hour and could not wait for a second pizza to be prepared. Initially the pizza crust was crispy and piping hot. However, the pizza lacked seasoning. The end pieces were fantastic and had a crispy crust that was cracker thin. As we continued to eat the pizza it cooled off and became soggy. Honestly, the crispy crust was the only thing to recommend the pizza. The sauce had a slight sweetness, but the pizza needed more sauce. The cheese was bland, as were the other toppings. I shouldn't have to keep adding salt and red pepper flakes to the pizza to enhance flavors. The pizza should have been seasoned properly when it was being prepared in the kitchen. I'm glad we tried the pizza. The green beer was the highlight. "I admit I don't like pizza. I love it". The pizza at D'Agostino's I didn't like. When it comes to gluten-free dining, it's hard to find a heavy hearty meal that really warms the spirit. Dags has a whole menu dedicated to just that. My girlfriend was ecstatic to be able to get a celiac-friendly chicken parm that was full and delicious. I got the Philly steak grinder and the portion was massive. I had a great experience here! I came across this place on a Friday night and was able to sit at the bar right away. Great environment to watch some football games. The bartender Maria was really nice and was working so hard all night. The Reuben sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. Pretty solid beer selection too. Finally flagged down a server who said she wasn't assigned to my table but would get mine. No apology from the server who eventually came, took my order, delivered my food. We stopped in here for dinner before a movie up the block at the Music Box. Their pizza was good: tavern style had a substantial crust, tasty pepperoni and a good flavor overall, and it came out pretty quickly, which is always nice when you have places to be. There are other options on the menu including appetizers, wings, sandwiches and salads, plus deep dish pizza if you'd prefer that. I love that Dags is here and I haven't had a bad time here yet. Thin crust pizza is their specialty, and I love it. Don't overlook their calzones: they are about twice as big as I would've expected and delicious. They also make good pasta: I tried their ravioli with spinach and cheese (your choice of sauce) most recently and it was surprisingly tasty. Garlic bread is a must as well. Buttery and crisp without being too crunchy. Salads are decent: a nice foil to the heavier foods. They have Pibb Extra, which is a soda that's right up my alley. It's close enough to Wrigley Field, but far enough to get away from the busyness of it. Service is good. It's got a welcoming, neighborhood vibe to it, classy, but casual and friendly. We ordered thin cheese and sausage pizza. Something is wrong with their kitchen. Today's pizza as well as the last two deliveries the pizza has had way too much cheese. We've been eating Dag's pizza from this location as well as the Ogden Ave for years and frankly we will start ordering elsewhere. We've love the super thin pizza with cheese but not the overkill amount they've been putting on. We've love also prefer our pizza super well done "burn it," and today's pizza was cold. My guess is driver had other deliveries. At $40, the pizza should be hot! We know hot pizza is possible because we've received deliveries pipping hot before this winter season. Nice renovation of the pizza place, been here many times just due to where it is at. They take advantage of the location which is a great corner. The service is generally slow, it took an hour for the thin-crust pizza to come out and the place was pretty empty. As for the pizza, I would say it is very average, I would say it needs to be in the oven longer as the crust needs to less soggy and more crisp. Could be improved. read more

First of all, when ordering online, I still don't understand the difference between pan and stuffed and deep dish and I could not find a description anywhere. Then, when I picked up my takeout pizza and put it on my lap in the car, it ended up leaking out the corner and getting all over my pants (thankfully it didn't seem to stain). In the Dags Special pizza, the peppers and onions were way too big and undercooked to where they were a little too crunchy. The mushrooms were good, but I don't think there were many. We split a small margherita pizza, which was much larger than expected. The pizza was good, nothing special. The crust was very thin, but the tomatoes should have been sliced thinner and were too chunky. There was lots of cheese in the middle, it was almost too much. I ordered a side salad which was a basic salad, with few cherry tomatoes, onions and croutons. Our server seemed annoyed he had to work and we were bothering him being there. I came in on a Monday night after running some errands. It wasn't busy at all yet (early) so I sat at the bar. The bartender was great! He made a few food recommendations and was just the right amount of attentive to everyone at the bar and at some of the tables. I ordered the smoked turkey wrap. It was great! I would get it again. Especially with tots and a side of ranch...that was a solid meal. I also appreciate its proximity to other Southport Corridor businesses, Wrigleyville, and the Southport Brown Line stop. I can tell there were a lot of regulars, and a few birthday parties going on in a separate room. I definitely recommend! We went here before a college football game at Wrigley. We needed beer and food. It was busy which is no shocker. As a group of 6 (3 teens, 3 adults) we were told we could start outside under the heat lamps and when a specific group a specific table finishes their beer and leaves, we can have it. Well, it never happened. They gave it someone else. Heaters didn't work. The waitstaff was pretty attentive considering we were alone outside for a while. Dags was a fun visit! This was our 3rd establishment on our progressive patio cocktail and app adventure! We had just eaten at our last place, so this was a visit strictly for a cocktail. We asked the hostess if we could have a patio table and she brought us outside to one right away. We looked at the cocktail menu and we were ready to order when our server came to our table. I say that being an East-coaster originally, so the Chicago thin crust and deep dish has never really done it for me. The stuffed from here is more or less like most other establishments, in my opinion. The calzone is enormous and could easily feed two people, but the ingredients inside weren't good. Onions are raw, and the spinach seemed canned. Four stars because though it is not a regular place for me, the sandwiches usually hit the mark.
