Delicious little hidden gem! We ordered soup as appetizer, I got the coconut chicken soup & it was delectable! I'm a huge soup lover & this one definitely hit the spot! What I loved the most about it was that you could taste each individual flavor in this warm little bowl of yumminess! As entrees we shared the chicken/shrimp pad Thai & yellow curry chicken & a large side of white rice. Both were a absolutely delicious! You can order each dish with different levels of spiciness which is great for people who don't eat spicy food. I love spicy food so I was happy that their food had a bit of a kick. My first review was 5 stars great but today I went in to order again and I had a horrific (yes, I'm being dramatic) customer service experience. The young man up front who is usually friendly was rude as had his back to me as he attempted to take my order. Maybe it's partly my fault because I was on the phone with work (I'm on call) and I asked if I could sit down to review the menu and continue my call. The young man stated, I could sit and then I placed my call on hold while I attempted to order. The young man's back was to me and he was very snappy while I struggled to say Panang. I then said, self why are we doing this? I advised, "never-mind! And I told him the following: "usually you're friendly but your back is to me." I started walking out and he stated, "I'm friendly!" All I could think is yeah, usually he is but not today....I'll leave. Basically this review wasn't about the food and I know we all are humans and have bad days or not so good days. This review is for a togo order I made once I arrived. Service (during the 15 min I was there): A+. Very pleasant staff. I overheard at least two guests compliment them on their great service within the short time span I was there, they're obviously doing something right. Food: Ordered Pad thai and Panang Curry both on a spice level of "Thai Hot". The spice level is mild at best. Generous portions. Flavor was on point for the panang curry but the pad thai was lacking. The other reviews have pretty much said it all and I can only offer the same opinion -- good food, good prices, good service. My parents always like to say that I was "made in Thailand". They met at an Air Force base in the seventies ... lived off-base and ate Thai food every night at the local places. "Today is better than two tomorrows" Thai Proverb Had a chance to try Danthai today, and it was pretty good! While no stranger to "hole in the wall" restaurants, I was a little suspect of this very worn strip center and the drab, spartan interior of Danthai, I was equally suspect of all the "Best Thai" accolades here, so I ordered my usual Veggie Pad Thai for comparison. We also ordered the vegetarian basil rolls and fried tofu as well as another noodle dish. The basil rolls were rolled in a wrap that was way too thick, the fried tofu appetizer was simple but not bad. The Pad Thai, while not presented in traditional style, had great flavor. The other entree was also pretty good. What's interesting about Danthai is that what it is missing in the food is what is missing in the restaurant, presentation. Going out for Thai is usually an experience that involves all the senses. You can usually count on sharp decor, whether traditional or modern, and maybe some soothing background music, either Asian or classical. But even if these are missing, you can almost always count on the plates having some touch of class to them, making them visually appealing, sometimes it might be a carved garnish, or at least colorful vegetable shreds, or sprouts piled high, but not here. The dishes, while solid, were as boring as the quiet, worn restaurant. The prices were very fair for the offering, almost ensuring my return, but probably for takeout. So in the end, Danthai is A-OK, and while not a great place for a date, Danthai works well for when you want Thai today, and not tommorrow. read more

Friendly atmosphere where multiple folks came in and the owner calls them by name. Decor is very minimal with free standing diner like tables, metal padded chairs and plastic floral tablecloths. Food was good but presentation isn't high end. Appetizers run around the $5 mark and entrees between $8-$10. Lunch crowd was pretty brisk. 6 tables were seated and at least 4 calls came in for to-go orders. If you ask for spicy, they will ask medium or hot. Hot is sinus clearing. I had the golden bag appetizers which was actually very good but a tad greasy, but it is fried so.... Then I ordered the Broccoli Chicken and it was very basic in display, but a good bit of flavor even though nothing fancy or unexpected. All in all, a really good Thai place that I hear that many people drive for many miles to get to. The owner ( Noi) is always on site either cooking or hosting, the service is great but it's a small staff which could explain the 1 or 2 negative reviews. The food - oh the food!! We're vegetarians so we always have a tofu dish. It's the best tofu I've ever had. Noi makes the tofu himself. Even my carnivore friends love it! I always get the spicy basil noodles with tofu, and the vegetarian basil rolls and my husband gets the yellow curry. The ambiance is simple, nothing fancy about this place- just pure deliciousness!
